U.S. President Joe Biden boards Air Force One at Brussels Airport in Brussels, Tuesday, June 15. 2021 U.S. President Joe Biden headed to Geneva on Tuesday where he will hold a summit with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin. When the two world leaders meet on Wednesday, June 16, talks are expected to be dominated by cyberattacks and human rights. Ransomware attacks by criminals reportedly linked to Russia that have twice targeted critical American infrastructure are a concern for the United States. Biden is also likely to raise U.S. concerns over Russian cyber meddling in U.S. politics, something Moscow, which is pushing for a cyber non-interference pact, denies. Expectations for a major breakthrough at a summit on Wednesday between Biden and Putin are low with ties between Washington and Moscow at their most strained in years. Both leaders say they hope the Geneva meeting, their first in-person encounter since Biden became president, can lead to stable and predictable relations even though they remain at odds over everything from Ukraine to Syria to jailed Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. #followforfollowback #follow4followback #followtrain #followforlike #following #followtrainhy #beau #beautifulnature #beautifulplace (at USA) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQKKMthtWym/?utm_medium=tumblr

President Joe Biden and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan meet at a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Brussels, Monday, June 14. 2021 The anticipated meeting between Biden and Erdogan came to fruition on Monday in Brussels to discuss strained relations between the two NATO allies in their first face-to-face meeting since Biden took office. Turkey has the Western alliance's second-biggest military after the United States but Ankara's purchase of Russian defense systems, disagreements over Syria, human rights, the treatment of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire and tensions in the eastern Mediterranean have hurt ties. Leaving Turkey, Erdogan said that he and Biden must use the Monday meeting to move on from past troubles, including a bitter dispute over Turkey's purchase of Russian S-400 missiles. The 30 member NATO alliance met Monday and Russia was high on the agenda. Moscow denies any wrongdoing, but allies are increasingly concerned given Moscow’s recent aggression on the eastern flank and its covert and cyberattacks to undermine Western states. #followforfollowback #follow4followback #follower #followtrain #followforlike #followforlike #followme #followus #followalways #followmeto #followalways #followxfollow #followbackalways #followshoutoutlikecomment #followgram (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQITnefNhaC/?utm_medium=tumblr

International Albinism Awareness Day on June 13 has been observed in Cameroon, with albinos asking for more government and community care and protection. Those living with this hereditary genetic condition that reduces melanin pigment in skin, hair and eyes, say stigma, violence, superstition and killing have greatly lessened, but abuses have not been eliminated. One hundred and sixty albinos and their family members assembled at the World Association for Advocacy and Solidarity of Albinos office in Cameroon's capital, Yaounde, to mark International Albinism Awareness Day. Among them is 16-year-old albino Ronald Essi, who said he was abandoned because of his condition. Essi said he wants to become a police officer to defend his country Cameroon and punish civilians who abuse albinos' rights. He said his mother abandoned him when he was two years old. He said his grandmother resisted family pressure to kill him. He said he has been living in the streets since 2015, when his grandmother died. Essi said a Catholic priest rescued him from the street and sent him to a school in Yaoundé. Essi is one of the about 2,200 albinos the government says live in Cameroon. #cameroon #yaounde #yaourtieremultidelice #investment #invest #investirakribi #followforfollowback #follow4followback #followtrain #following #follow4likefollowbackinst😊😊😊antly #followbacknow #beautifuldestinations (at Cameroon) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQGF0M7NAX4/?utm_medium=tumblr

U.S. President Joe Biden arrives aboard the Air Force One ahead of a NATO summit, at Brussels Military Airport in Melsbroek, Belgium June 13. 2021 The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is set to discuss revising its strategic concept when its leaders, including U.S. President Joe Biden, gather Monday in Brussels. NATO last updated the document outlining its purpose in 2010. The security threats and challenges it faces have changed since then, according to the organization’s secretary-general, Jens Stoltenberg. “For instance, in the current strategic concept, China is not mentioned with a single word. And climate change is hardly mentioned at all. And of course, our relationship with Russia was at a very different place at that time compared to where we are today,” Stoltenberg told reporters Friday. “Today, we are the low point since the Cold War in our relationship with Russia, and more sophisticated cyberattacks, and many of the challenges have evolved over these years.” NATO held off discussing changes to its strategic concept while Biden’s predecessor as U.S. president, Donald Trump, was in office. “Europeans didn't want to open that Pandora's Box during the Trump administration because they didn't know what the United States would say,” said Dan Hamilton, director of the Global Europe program at the Wilson Center. Trump had a fraught relationship with the other leaders of the military alliance, repeatedly berating them to increase the size of their defense budgets — “dues” to NATO he erroneously called it — and questioning NATO’s mutual defense clause, known as Article 5. #followforfollowback #follow4followback #follow4followback #followforlike #follower #follower #follow4like #followus #followyou #beautifuldestinations #beautifulgirls https://www.instagram.com/p/CQEw4rINPHD/?utm_medium=tumblr

Anything you can do: G7 rivals China with grand infrastructure plan for developing nations: The Group of Seven richest democracies sought on Saturday to counter China’s growing influence by offering developing nations an infrastructure plan that could rival President Xi Jinping’s multi-trillion-dollar BeltandRoadinitiative. The #G7, whose leaders are meeting in southwestern England, has been searching for a coherent response to the growing assertiveness of Xi after China's surging economic and military rise over the past 40 years. U.S. President #JoeBiden and other G7leaders hope their plan, known as the Build Back Better World (B3W) initiative, will provide a transparent infrastructure partnership to help narrow the $40 trillion needed by developing nations by 2035, the White House said. "This is not just about confronting or taking on China," a senior official in Biden's administration said. "But until now we haven't offered a positive alternative that reflects our values, our standards and our way of doingbusiness." The UnitedStates later said there was a G7 consensus on the need for a shared approach to China on trade and humanrights. The G7 and its allies will use the B3W initiative to mobilise privatesector capital in areas such as climate, health and healthsecurity, #digitaltechnology, and genderequity and equality, the White House added. It was not immediately clear how exactly the plan would work or how much capital it would ultimately allocate. https://lnkd.in/ew-jGDm BuildBackBetterWorld FACT SHEET: https://lnkd.in/eu8KhAs B3WInitiative China #Africa InvestInAfrica #AI #PartnerWithAfrica #AfCFTA #AU #FDI #GDP #TradeInAfrica Tech #TheAfCFTAEffect #IFC #AfDB #Investment #MadeInAfrica #Development #CFTA #Trade WTO #SAATM DevelopingNations BetterAfricaBetterWorld #AUC AfricaRising TradeNotAid #BrandAfrica PanAfrican #MakeItInAfrica #TheAfricaWeWant #Diaspora IntraAfricanTrade #AfCFTATV #Jobs #JobCreation AfricaOnTheMove #WeAreInThisTogether B3W #UK (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQDkfwsNM6N/?utm_medium=tumblr

Russian President Vladimir Putin voiced hope Friday that U.S. President Joe Biden would be less impulsive than his predecessor, Donald Trump, ahead of his first summit with the new U.S. leader. In an interview with NBC News, Putin described Biden as a "career man" who spent his life in politics. "It is my great hope that, yes, there are some advantages, some disadvantages, but there will not be any impulse-based movements on behalf of the sitting U.S. president," he said, according to a translation by NBC News. Biden plans to raise a range of U.S. complaints, including over purported Russian election interference and hacking, in the summit with Putin on Wednesday in Geneva at the end of Biden's first foreign trip. #followforfollowback #follow4followback #followforlike #followforlike #follower #followyou (at Russia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQCBx99FFCz/?utm_medium=tumblr

AfCFTA’s biggest challenge now may be too little trade, but down the line, it could be uneven development: Trading commenced under the AfricanContinentalFreeTradeArea (AfCFTA) agreement in January. However the journey to increased intraAfricantrade will be a long one, and some key protocols are still being negotiated. As #Africa pursues trade-driven industrialisation, the process must be as inclusive as possible. One of the major criticisms levied against the #deal is that gains will accrue disproportionately across Africa. This could happen between countries, within countries, between firms and among people. Pre-existing inequalities mean that more advanced countries, cities, manufacturing firms and the African economic elite could benefit the most from the trade increase. There are several reasons for this. The #AfCFTA arguably has the highest income disparities between its member countries than other continental freetradeagreements. Together, Nigeria, SouthAfrica and #Egypt — three out of 54 countries — account for about 50% of Africa’s #GDP. So the African singlemarket brings together unequal economies with varying #production capacities. South Africa, as the continent’s most industrialised economy, is at an advantage. Trade Map reports that in 2020 Africa imported $20-billion worth of goods from South Africa. It’s the sixth-largest supplier of African imports, after #China, #India, #France, the UnitedStates and #Germany. U.S. President Joe Biden meets with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson in the English seaside resort of Carbis Bay, ahead of the G-7 summit, Thursday, June 10. 2021 The U.K. is Biden's first trip abroad since taking his office. Biden will spend three days in the U.K. for the G-7 summit, which will begin Friday. Biden announced Thursday that his administration is donating 500 million doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine to 92 low- and middle-income countries, the United States aims to liberate itself from the uncomfortable reputation of being a vaccine hoarder. Meanwhile Johnson on Thursday also pledged “millions” of doses for the world’s poorest. But it’s unclear whether other G-7 members will immediately follow. The countries are at different stages of vaccinating their own populations. Japan and Canada, which have vaccination rates of under 10%, are not in a position to be as generous. https://www.Dabexdaily.com/usa/biden-says-us-will-donate-500-million-covid-vaccines-world-watch-live https://www.instagram.com/p/CP91lQ0twsd/?utm_medium=tumblr

U.S. President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden are greeted and walk with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie Johnson, ahead of the G-7 summit, Carbis Bay, England, Thursday, June 10. 2021 Biden is holding talks Thursday with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson before attending the G-7 summit of leading industrial nations in Cornwall, Britain, from Friday to Sunday. He and first lady Jill Biden are also meeting Sunday with Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle before leaving for a NATO summit in Brussels on Monday. While in the Belgian capital, Biden will hold separate talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a NATO ally who has angered Washington by his go-it-alone stance in buying a Russian-made air defense system that is incompatible with NATO’s. On Tuesday, Biden meets with Belgian King Philippe and Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, as well as attending a U.S.-European Union summit. In Geneva on Wednesday, Biden is meeting with Swiss Confederation President Guy Parmelin before his potentially contentious sit-down with Putin — the first time the two leaders have met face-to-face since Biden became president. Throughout his trip, Biden said he hopes to present a different view of the U.S. than former President Donald Trump, who often contended that NATO allies were not for the most part contributing their fair share to support the seven-decade-old Western military alliance. The White House said Biden would “affirm the United States’ commitment to NATO, trans-Atlantic security and collective defense.” At the G-7 summit, the White House said Biden “will reinforce our commitment to multilateralism, work to advance key U.S. policy priorities on public health, economic recovery and inclusive growth, and demonstrate solidarity and shared values among major democracies.” #followforfollowback #follow4followback #follower #following #followme #beautifuldestinations #beautifuldestinations #beautifulgirls #beautyaddict (at United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CP8uK_LtwBu/?utm_medium=tumblr

President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden arrive to Cornwall Airport Newquay, Cornwall, Britain, June 9, 2021 ahead of the G-7 summit. Biden kicked off his United Kingdom visit earlier Wednesday with remarks to U.S. troops stationed at Royal Air Force Mildenhall. The military base is used almost exclusively by American soldiers and home to the U.S. Air Force 100th Air Refueling Wing. The president's main agenda in the U.K. is to attend the G-7 summit, a meeting of the world's seven most advanced democracies: the United States, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan. Biden is under pressure to shore up a global pandemic recovery strategy with other G-7 leaders, including how to help vaccinate the world’s population. The G-7 leaders last met in August 2019 in Biarritz, France. That summit did not produce the usual communique because of disagreements between then-U.S. President Donald Trump and other leaders on key issues. The three-day G-7 sessions commence Friday at the Carbis Bay Hotel & Estate and Tregenna Castle Resort in St. Ives, Cornwall. The summit is expected to encounter extraordinary logistical challenges to meet COVID-19 health protocols. #followforfollowback #follow4followback #followtrain #followtrain #following #followus #followalways #beautifuldestinations #beautifulgirls #beautifulplaces (at USA) https://www.instagram.com/p/CP7XePMNSda/?utm_medium=tumblr

Jollof Wars: Who does West Africa's iconic rice dish best? With its seductive aroma, deep-red colour and spicy flavour, #Jollofrice is the undisputed queen of West African #kitchens. It's our beloved culinary treasure and a #dish from our very heart and soul. But just whisper the word "Jollof" in #WestAfrica and you could easily start a fiery feud of passion. That's because determining which West African nation makes Jollof best is an ongoing matter of local pride and contention. Jollof rice is to West Africa what paella is to #Spain, risotto to #Italy, biriyani to #India and fried rice to #China. As a child growing up in #Ghana, I gobbled Jollof down at family gatherings, birthdays, coming-of-age ceremonies, engagement parties and weddings. Enjoyed as a main meal, this rich, mouth-watering dish consists of rice cooked in a flavourful sauce of tomatoes, onions and aromatic #spices. These base ingredients are often layered with ginger, garlic, thyme, grains of selim (a West African spice), tomato puree, curry powder and Scotch bonnet chillies, though the exact components and preparation differ from country to country; even from house to house. https://lnkd.in/eJh8iqi #Africa #Food #AfCFTA #TradeInAfrica #Rice #CFTA #FoodForGood #AfricanFood #TheAfricaWeWant #Trade #AU #MadeInAfrica #GDP #Diaspora #FoodForThoughts #EatWell #TheAfCFTAEffect #Cooking #ProudlyAfrican #panafrican (at Africa) https://www.instagram.com/p/CP44GJVNfRy/?utm_medium=tumblr

Soldiers arrive to conduct rescue operation to clear the track at the site of a train collision in the Ghotki district, Pakistan, Tuesday, June 8. 2021 The death toll from Monday’s collision of two trains in southern Pakistan rose to 63 Tuesday. The number of fatalities increased from 51 after rescue crews recovered 12 more bodies from the wreckage of mangled train cars in the Ghotki district in Sindh province. The deadly, early morning collision occurred when the Millat Express was traveling between the southern port city Karachi to Sarghodha when it derailed, leaving many cars full of sleeping passengers scattered over the tracks. Minutes later, the Sir Syed Express heading in the opposite direction rammed the derailed Millat Express. Officials said more than 1,100 people were on board both the trains. Pakistani Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said in a statement it is premature to say whether the accident occurred due to a technical error, negligence, or sabotage but indicated all aspects were being investigated. Prime Minister Imran Khan said he was “shocked by the horrific” train accident and ordered a “comprehensive investigation into railway safety fault lines,” on a Twitter post shortly after the collusion Monday. Pakistan army and paramilitary troops were on the scene and assisting civilian rescue-and-relief efforts. Rescue efforts that began Monday continued overnight and into Tuesday, according to local reports. Pakistan has antiquated railways that have seen little to no maintenance or investment in decades. #followforfollowback #follow4followback #followtrain #follo #followme #followforlike #follow4like #followme #followalways #followtofollow #beautifuldestinations #beautifuldestinations #photography #photo #photographer #photoshop #photographylovers (at Pakistan) https://www.instagram.com/p/CP3v41dtrj0/?utm_medium=tumblr

People are seen at a makeshift memorial at the fatal crime scene where a man driving a pickup truck jumped the curb and ran over a Muslim family in what police say was a deliberately targeted anti-Islamic hate crime, in London, Ontario, Canada, Monday, June 7. 2021 Four members of a Canadian Muslim family who were killed Sunday in London, Ontario, when a pickup truck jumped the curb and ran them over were targeted in an anti-Islamic hate crime, Canadian police said Monday. Witnesses say suspected attacker, 20-year-old Nathaniel Veltman, struck five members of the family with his black pickup truck and sped off. Local police chief Stephen Williams told reporters the act was motivated by hate. "The victims of this horrific incident were targeted. We believe the victims were targeted because of their Islamic faith." The London Free Press reported that among those killed were a 15-year-old girl, both of her parents and her grandmother. Her 9-year-old brother is in the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Sunday's killings are the worst attack against Canadian Muslims since the Quebec City Mosque shooting in 2017. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted, "Islamophobia has no place in any of our communities. This hate is insidious and despicable, and it must stop." London, Ontario, has a large Muslim community and Arabic is the city’s second-most-spoken language after English. A metro employee checks the body temperature of commuters as they wait in a queue to enter a metro station following the resumption of services after seven weeks of lockdown imposed as preventive measure against COVID-19 at Vaishali metro station in Ghaziabad, India, Tuesday, June 8. 2021 India’s daily coronavirus infections have dipped below 100,000 for the first time in more than two months as an overall downturn prompts some states to ease restrictions. The 86,498 cases added in the past 24 hours pushed India’s total past 29 million on Tuesday, second only to the United States, which has more than 33 million. The Health Ministry also reported 2,123 new fatalities in the past 24 hours, raising the overall death toll to 351,309. Both figures are believed to be vast undercounts. India peaked at adding more than 400,000 cases a day in May, but new infections and deaths have declined across the country since then. The downturn has led some states to ease restrictions on commercial activities to spur consumption. Multiple states have, however, extended lockdowns and have been reluctant to reopen. Meanwhile, the federal government is going to take over vaccine procurement from the states and ensure vaccines are provided free of cost to every adult Indian. India’s vaccination drive has been marred by delays and shortages. Less than 5% of the population is fully vaccinated. #followforfollowback #follow4followback #followtrain #followforlike #following #followme #followalways #followbackinstantly #follow_me #followtrain (at India) https://www.instagram.com/p/CP3sCi-toxR/?utm_medium=tumblr
