TS3 Functional Closet Mod

The idea for this mod started with my want to convert TS2 Apartment Life closet. I could have used the Supernatural wardrobe as a base, but I wanted the doors to have proper animations and the ability to function like real closet doors against the wall, similar to how doors work in the game. So, this mod was created! 😊

What is this mod?

This mod functions as a dresser but includes a new animation that allows the doors to slide open like an actual closet. When the closet opens and closes, the Sim plays an idle animation, and when changing clothes, they use the spin animation.

The mod includes two different types, depending on the closet:

Dresser Type – Offers the same interactions as the base game dresser. This type is best for closets without mirrors.

Mirror Type – Includes interactions from the vanity table in Supernatural and Showtime (Don’t worry, the mod is 100% base game compatible!).

Important! This mod does not add a closet object to the game by itself. It only provides the necessary functionality for closet objects to work properly!

The Closet Object:

As mentioned earlier, this mod was created because I wanted to convert TS2 closet. The conversion is included with the mod, and you're welcome to use it as a base for creating your own closets! 😊

The closet comes in three different versions:

Opaque

Mirror – This version is split into two parts: the closet and a separate mirror for the animated door. To use it properly, simply place the mirror on the closet—it will slot into place and move with the door 😊

Glass

Both merged and unmerged versions are included—please install only one! (The merged file does not include the mod itself.)

How to Install?

Place the mod and the closet objects in your Mods/Packages folder.

How to Create Your Own Closet?

Choose the version you'd like to clone as your base and ensure the OBJK is set correctly in S3PE for the closet type you want.

For a closet without a mirror: Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.ShelvesStorage.Crystal.Closet

For a closet with a mirror: Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.ShelvesStorage.Crystal.ClosetMirror

Polycount:

The 3 versions share the same polycount. LOD 0 (High Detail): 2430 LOD 1 (Medium Detail): 1070

TS2 To TS3 - "52 Pickup" Card Table

A conversion of the "52 Pickup" Card Table from TS2 Nightlife to TS3 😊

How to use:

The Deck Of Cards mod by @anitmb is required to make the table functional (the mod itself requires the "Dead Man's Hand Poker Table" from the store). On its own, the table functions as a dining table. Found under Surfaces -> Miscellaneous.

The kitchen set is almost done!

I redid the vent so now it beeps like the regular fire alarm when there is a fire. The toaster oven is decor only.

The Sims 2 Grim Reaper Default Replacement for The Sims 3

● Happy 25th birthday to The Sims! 🎉 With the re-release of TS2, here's something to celebrate the occasion with.

● This mod converts TS2's Grim Reaper outfit and scythe to be used in TS3. There are 4 variants: regular and 3 lei options 🌺

The Sims 3 Material Painter Final Version

UPDATE

I've updated the painter, and with it, included some new things as well as a fully interactive tutorial on how to use it.

NEEDED Prerequisites:

Blender 4.2+

Blender Paint System Addon - HERE (you can donate to the original creator, or get it for free, great little plugin!)

THE TUTORIAL

The tutorial is extensive, done in numbered steps, and is UI and workflow oriented, allowing you to click on any relevant UI element to learn more about it, and how it relates to the complete workflow. There's an additional, advanced chapter, for people who are interested in learning more about blender texture painter's functionality and techniques.

PAINTER ADDITIONS

The Painter has been slightly fixed, with multiplier's lines and depth shading being shifted to the correct depth, and with AO being more pronounced. This will make multiplier output even more accurate. Added some new minor tweaks to UI and Color Palettes to accommodate for the tutorial.

Been working on a tool that easily creates The Sims 3 material maps based only on a few texture layers, most of it derived from height data. This was done long time ago, but very sloppily, and it was not at all approachable.

Discovering THIS free blender add-on that lets you plaint layers in it, made me return to this project and finalize it for release.

The tool can export:

- Multiplier, RGB+A

- Normal Map, RGB+A

- CAST Map, RGB+A

- Specular Map

- Overlay, RGB+A

I hope I don't sound rude, but since you always commit yourself to converting a whole pack, were you aware of some individual conversions that were already done previously? I mean, have you considered skipping converting those to save yourself time and effort? I just asked out of concern, since you've mentioned you're stil recovering from a burnout.

Yes, I'm aware that there are items others have already converted, but it's my personal preference to convert everything myself to maintain the consistency of the packs I release.

I'm still recovering from burnout, which is why I'm taking baby steps and focusing on other hobbies. But thank you for your concern 😊❤️

K&B Progress Update

After my update yesterday I actually had time today to continue a bit with the project so I thought I'd share this progress 😊 Today, I worked on the vent (which functions as a fire alarm, sadly without sound), the kitchen sink, and two decor items. Out of 50 items, 19 items are done.

The kitchen set is around 50% done.

The bathroom set - still didn't start.

Miscellaneous decor (paintings, rugs, etc.) - still didn't start.

K&B Stuff Update

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well! 😊

I haven’t posted an update in a while, and the reason is that I took a break from TS3. I started feeling burned out and decided I needed some time off.

Progress has been really slow because I needed to regain the motivation to get back to it.

I can’t say when the project will be complete, but I just wanted to let you know that I haven’t abandoned it. I’m simply taking my time to ensure I don’t feel burned out again.

Current Project Update!

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well! 😊

Quick update on my current conversion project - it's Kitchen & Bath stuff! I’m almost done with the counters in the pack, and I’m also adding new meshes to make the counter sets feel more complete.

I’ve finished the "Surfaco" set, and now I’m working on the "Double Wood" set. For the "Double Wood" set, I don’t plan to add additional counter add-ons like I did for the "Surfaco" set since I don’t feel it needs them. However, I’ll still be adding three cabinet variants, just like with the "Surfaco" set.

For the cabinets, I used CTNutmegger’s cabinets on MTS as a design reference (they’re an amazing addition to any TS2 kitchen, so check them out if you’re looking for great cabinets for your TS2 game!). That said, these are not direct conversions - they’re original meshes I created specifically for this project.

TS3 Teen Style Stuff Update

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well! 😊 I just wanted to update you that I’m still working on TS2 Teen Style Stuff conversion. I know it’s been a while since I shared my progress, so I wanted to let you know I haven’t abandoned the project, it’s just taking a while because I’ve been quite busy IRL.

Out of 42 items, I have 12 left, so the project is getting closer to completion, and I hope to finish it soon.

Hi I was wondering if you were at all considering converting anything other Sims 2 packs to Sims 3. I have been looking everywhere for a conversion of the Sims 2 Family Fun stuff as it was one of my favourite stuff packs as well as the Teen Stuff and Kitchen and Bath Stuff packs. Absolutely no pressure if you aren't I completely understand, I know how long it takes to convert things like this. I love your conversion of the IKEA stuff pack.

Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well! 😊 First of all, thank you so much for downloading the IKEA pack and following my blog, you're all amazing and I appreciate it so much! ❤ Second , I wanted to update why I'm inactive ever since I uploaded the IKEA pack.

I'm actually working on two projects right now:

Conversion of the Teen Style Pack which is around 50% done.

Creating my first custom world! I'm a total noob with CAW and I don't know if this project will see the light of day but I'm learning a lot.

Unfortunately I can't tell you when I'll be done with the Teen Style pack, I decided to take a break from it since I started to feel burned out but I hope I'll finish it soon.

Acne & Skincare Update (7/11/24) - New Features, New Name! 🛀🏾

Six new skincare treatments are now available for teen and older sims to use at the sink under the “Skincare…” pie menu option.

In order for all of the face masks and skincare treatments to show up properly, please install all of the package files in the twinsimming_Acne Mod Skincare Overlays folder alongside the mod file itself.

Thank you to @nectar-cellar and @johziii for creating these lovely overlays and allowing me to include them in this mod! You can download the original versions of their overlays here and here. They can be installed along side the versions included with the mod!

In honor of the addition of skincare features, I have renamed the mod from the Acne Mod to Acne & Skincare to better reflect the expanded scope of the project 💙

The different skincare options, their benefits, and prices are listed below:

Sheet Mask (§2)

Gives custom Hydrated moodlet

Boosts Plant Sim Hydration motive

Boosts Mermaid Hydration motive

Boosts Hygiene motive

Removes dehydration related moodlets from Plant Sims and Mermaids

Chance of removing negative Uncomfortable moodlet

Reduces Acne Breakout, Heating Up (vampire), and Too Much Sun (vampire) moodlet timeouts by 2 hours for every hour the mask is worn

Clay Masks (§3)

Gives custom Clay Face moodlet

Chance of removing negative Stressed moodlet

Reduces chance of getting acne by 10%

Reduces Feeling Anxious, Strained, Overworked, Out of Sorts, and Stuff Taken moodlet timeouts by 2 hours for every hour the mask is worn

Mud Masks (§3)

Gives custom Smooth Skin moodlet

Chance of removing Uncomfortable moodlet

Reduces Sunburn, Itchy, Mosquito Bite (low, med, high), Bee Sting, and Ouch My Face moodlet timeouts by 2 hours for every hour the mask is worn

Under Eye Patches (§4)

Gives custom Subtle Glow moodlet

Boosts Energy motive

Chance of removing Stressed moodlet

Reduces Bad Night’s Sleep, Buzz Crashed, Liquid Crash, and Fatigued moodlet timeouts by 2 hours for every hour the patches are worn

If my Energy Drinks mod is installed, Energy Crash and Craving Caffeine moodlet timeouts are reduced by 2 hours for every hour the patches are worn

Acne Stickers (§5) 

Gives custom Star Studded moodlet

Boosts Fun motive

Chance of removing Angry moodlet

Reduces moodlet hit from Acne Breakout moodlet by half (-20 to -10)

Reduces Embarrassed moodlet from Acne Breakout timeout by 2 hours for every hour the stickers are worn

Anti-Aging Cream (§10) - Adult and Elders Only

Gives custom Fountain of Youth moodlet

20% chance of removing wrinkles on Adults and Elders

20% chance of removing liver spots on Elders

10% chance of extending a sim’s lifespan by 1 day

10% chance of improving a sim’s midlife crisis

Note: Using the skincare treatments will not remove any Costume Makeup your sim is wearing, the overlay will simply cover it.

After the skincare treatments wear off, sims will receive the Attractive moodlet, or the I Am Beautiful moodlet if the sim has the Snob trait.

The “Apply Acne Toner” interaction available to sims who have acne has been moved to the “Skincare…” pie menu as well.

Apply Acne Toner (§2)

Only available when a sim has the Acne Breakout moodlet

Gives custom Feeling Fresh moodlet

Reduces the Acne Breakout moodlet by 4 hours

The “Wash Face” has not been moved, but does have some additional functionality.

Wash Face 

Gives custom Practicing Self Care moodlet

Removes all skincare treatments currently applied to a sim

Reduces chance of getting acne by 5%

New Moodlets

Clay Face: Given when sims use a Clay Mask, lasts 8 hours, +10 mood

Fountain of Youth: Given when sims use Anti-Aging Cream, lasts 8 hours, +10 mood

Hydrated: Given when sims use a Sheet Mask, lasts 4 hours, +10 mood

Smooth Skin: Given when sims use a Mud Mask, lasts 8 hours, +10 mood

Star Studded: Given when sims use Acne Stickers, lasts 4 hours, +10 mood

Subtle Glow: Given when sims use Under Eye Patches, lasts 4 hours, +10 mood

All of the tunable values can be found on the mod download page under the header “Tuning”.
