Canon Descendants BatB Part 2
Ok! Thank you for your patience, this got longer then I anticipated x)
But here we go! To recap, Belle and Adam and a lot of the staff have been sucked into a magical book given to Belle by the mysterious Lady Melusine and her chaperone, who have some sort off alliance with Gaston.
Luckily, both Ben and Gil were wandering the castle library at the time and so avoided getting sucked in as well, and re-enter the ballroom just in time to see a blinding light envelope the crowd–and then nothing is left in the room but themselves, a strangely luminescent book neither of them are keen to touch–
And an old woman in a green cloak. The woman, skipping over introductions as only mysterious fairytale women can and getting on to the Call to Adventure , tells them that the court and Ben’s parents have been trapped inside the book, and that he will have three days time to rescue them, or they will be trapped forever within it’s pages. He doesn’t have to go of course, he’s almost old enough to rule the province himself, but she can send him into the book if she wishes to try.
Ben obviously is anxious to rescue his parents and agrees, though he is worried about his ability to do so in time. Gil immediately volunteers to help his friend, refusing to stay behind even when Ben tries to dissuade him from the danger. Ben has shown him more kindness then he’s known in his whole life, he’s not going to leave him to face this alone.
The old woman smiles at this show of devotion, warns them again of their time limit, and adds that she will give them what help she can, though it may not be much, the book is the domain of Another, and her own powers will be limited within it’s pages. Before the boys can ask what that means, a wand is waved, and the pair finds themselves within the land of Autrefois….
There, guided by a small green light that seems to want them to follow it, they are led to The Griffin (he’s the only one, so that’s all the name he has), rescuing him from a gilded cage guarded by a pride of golden lionesses. The Griffin agrees to help them find the court members, carrying them across the land of Autrefois.
Together the trio follows the green light across the land to different castles, each one ruled over by the North, South, East, and West Winds. There, they must solve different riddles and challenges in order to find and rescue the court members, who have been turned back into inanimate versions of the furniture they once were.
Meanwhile, we at last learn the true identity of Lady Melusine and her courtier. Melusine was betrothed to Prince Adam as a child, and looked forward to the power and prestige that her marriage to him would bring. However, when he vanished from sight and memory, this contract also vanished, and Melusine was non to happy to find that he’d married someone else, a peasant at that, upon his miraculous return.
For years she stewed in anger and longed for vengeance for the wrong she felt had been done to her, and at last that chance came when, as her search for revenge at last took her into dark and forbidden realms of knowledge, she managed to call up an Enchantress of her own. Binding the powerful fay to her will through the spell, she commanded her to undo Adam’s current life and make it into the one she should have had. The Dark Enchantress warned her that she was unable to rewrite reality to that extant, but that she could trap the prince within a false reality, though she was sure that his princess and servants would attempt to rescue him.
Upon finding that The Dark Enchantress was unable to simply kill or physically harm Belle, or any of her friends, due to the rules of Magic, (and Belle in particular being under the protection of Another), Melusine demanded that she trap them within the false reality as well, making sure that they were all well guarded. The Dark Enchantress says that she can enchant the servants, and trap Belle, but warns that if Belle and Adam manage to touch each other within three days time, then the spell will unravel.
Melusine simply scoffs, confident that she will be able to keep Adam well to herself for that small amount of time. All The Dark Enchantress needs to do is make sure there’s someone to keep Belle busy and they’ll be fine.
And so it was that the Enchantress made the introduction of one Gaston, and, offering him the chance to regain an old dream of his, as well as a chance for vengeance (though she warned it could cost him all he had gained) secured one more character to play a part in the story Melusine wrote out for herself.
And so, Melusine found herself the sole princess of Autrefois, a fairy tale land of majestic castles, strange creatures, and a very confused Prince, who’s can’t quite pin point why he doesn’t feel all that excited about marrying his beautiful betrothed, who assures him that they’re madly in love and have been for years.
Belle meanwhile has no confusion about why she doesn’t want to marry Marquess Gaston. He’s arrogant, rude, conceded, and positively primeval. A spell may be able to suppress her memories but it can’t suppress her mind. And she’s made that up to escape the Marquess’s chateau as soon as she can Though goodness the hallways seem to twist and turn, and are those hand-shaped candelabras moving?
(basically, she’s trapped in a version of the Jean Cocteau BatB castle—with costumes inspired by the scrapped Done Bluth one)
Gaston, on his part, isn’t too happy to find Belle just as unwilling to marry him as ever, and even the fact that he now lives in a kind creepy castle with his two bumbling elder sons for henchman—(he purposely left his timid wife behind, he’s upgrading after all, and he likely doesn’t even think of Gil) does little to lighten his rapidly darkening mood. But it doesn’t matter, in three days time this will be permanent, and then he’ll have all the time in the world to make Belle love him…
Unfortunately for both Melusine and Gaston, the boys–(now accompanied by The Griffin, the rescued courtiers, and Maurice) have planned an assult on both Gaston’s chateau and Melusine’s palace. They manage to get Belle out of the chateau, each using a different talent to get through the living castle (Lumiere in particular finds that he still has a way with the moving Hand-delabras)
Unfortunately for the boys and their army of rescuers however, their attack on Melusine’s palace goes less well.
The rescuers are discovered and captured, Ben is taken before Melusine who gloats over her approaching victory, as the three days are almost up. Gil is handed over to the ‘mercy’ of his father, who came with his brothers to tell Melusine that Belle had escaped, and is more then happy to mete out punishment on his traitorous runt of a son who helped her do so.
Luckily, Belle is no more willing to be Melusine’s prisoner then she was Gaston’s, and manages with the help of her father and friends to break free of the dungeon they’ve been put in. They race through the castle, dodging magical guards, desperate to find the two boys. And then, in one room Belle enters (after having subdued it’s guards) she finds a man, asleep on a bed, but as she draws nearer, his eyes open. There’s confusion on his face upon seeing her, but also something more–something about him feels so familiar…she reaches out to touch him—
There is a flash, a sound like thousands of sheets of paper being ripped–and then a scream of rage from Melusine as the spell beings to unravel around them.
But Melusine isn’t done yet, even as she can feel her power over The Dark Enchantress slipping as the spell unravels, Melusine demands that if the Dark Enchantress is unable to harm her enemies, that she at least be given the power to strike them all down once and for all. The Dark Enchantress smiles demurely, whispering “it shall be as you wish”
Melusine’s body beings to writhe and squirm, lengthening out in coils as dark scales slip over her skin. In a howl made up of both pain and fury she lunges towards Belle–
Only to be stopped by the massive paws of a Beast.
Adam, once more transformed, grapples with the serpent Melusine as the very world around them beings to disintegrate, giving his friends and family the time they need to escape, rushing through the portal that has opened behind him, the portal through which The Green Enchantress slipped the moment the spell of her sister weakened enough to allow her.
It was she who once more transformed Adam, giving him the strength to hold off Melusine, while she turns her attention to her sister, who is not at all keen to lose the souls that Melusine has so thoughtfully brought into her power. Melusine no longer binds her, and she feels it is her turn to have a little fun now. She may not be able to kill these pathetic mortals who dared to play with her power, but she can make them wish that she could. Her sister reminds her that it was only Melusine and Gaston who did so, The Dark Enchantress says she doesn’t really care.
The Sisters battle above as their Creatures battle below. In the confusion almost everyone has managed to escape back into the real world. Melusine gains the upper hand, her fangs ready to strike down upon the Beast–when she finds herself being clawed at by the Griffin, ridden by Belle. The Griffin lifts Adam’s limp form up in it’s claws, carrying him and Belle through the Portal, Adam transforming back as he does so.
At last, everyone is through, even the Gaston Twins, shivering in a corner. Seeing them makes Ben realize though, that in all the commotion, he had lost track of–
Gilbert is struggling to claw his way out of the book as the Portal shrinks rapidly around him. Ben lunges forward, grapping at his hands trying to pull him through, just as another hand, one Gil is all to familiar with grasps onto to him to pull him back.
There is a moment when all seems lost, when Gil is about to be pulled back to spend forever trapped within the Dark Enchantress’s domain, when an utterly inhuman shriek echoes out from Melusine, and her dragon’s tail whips up through the portal, dragging Gaston back down, this time into a final doom.
Gil and Ben tumble across the ballroom floor together, watching as The Dark Enchantress’s book finally shuts tight. There is a moment of silence, and then a soft green glow fills the ballroom. The Green Enchantress has won. She looks about at the assembled crowd, nods at Adam, who nervously nods back, smiles at Belle and the boys, picks up the book, ask the The Griffin if he’d like to come with her, an offer he gratefully accepts. The boys and The Griffin share a good bye hug–and then he and The Green Enchantress are gone.
Gil and his mother are brought to live in the palace, and their lives are infinitely happier both for their new circumstances and their new friends. The Gaston Twins decide to travel to the New World (does one of them become the ancestor of Brom Bones thus explaining the family resemblance? Maaaybe), neither Gil nor their mother are too sad to see them go. The castle returns to it’s happy self, and if the boys one day find an old feathered friend has come to vist inviting them off on a new adventure…well, that is a story for another time.
The End

Would you mind Ibuki x imposter twogami?
Twobuki:
Who asks the other on dates: Ibuki asks out Twogami more! She really admires Twogami’s leadership skills, but she also notices him overworking himself, so she asked him out for a ‘Super mega relaxing date with Ibuki!’ for their first date. It went well and now that they’re dating Ibuki still tends to ask him out more!
Who is the bigger cuddler: Ibuki loves to cuddle, and she really appreciates how soft and cuddly Twogami is! Twogami is not ordinarily a cuddly person, but it’s hard to not want to cuddle when it comes to Ibuki. So basically these two are super cuddly with each other once they get together.
Who initiates holding hands more often: Ibuki also loves to hold hands, so she has no problem grabbing Twogami’s any time! Twogami got embarrassed the first few times it happened, but he learned to expect it. :)
Who remembers anniversaries: Twogami does! Ibuki is pretty okay at remembering as well, but she’s always on the move with important stuff to do, so things like dates sometimes slip her mind.
Who is more possessive: Neither of them are especially possessive people really. Ibuki is touchy feely and likes to hang off of Twogami, but it’s not really in a possessive way. Twogami isn’t especially possessive either, as he’s a more protective person by nature.
Who gets more jealous: I suppose Twogami can occasionally get jealous, but the two of them really aren’t jealous people either. Twogami only gets jealous evey once in awhile if he sees Ibuki being really affectionate with someone else. But Ibuki is quick to cheer him up if she sees him down!
Who is more protective: Twogami is super protective of Ibuki, although they’re both pretty protective of one another. Twogami loves to see Ibuki smile, so he’s ready to reprimand anyone that makes her frown. Ibuki is aware that Twogami is very protective of others, which is good but it also means that he tends to put himself last. She is protective in the way that she forces him to relax and do some self care for himself! :)
Who is more likely to cheat: I can’t see either of these two cheating ever, honestly.
Who initiates sexy times the most: Ibuki does! She isn’t shy about talking about sex or initiating it, so she’s definitely the more likely to initiate. This really works for Twogami, as he’s a person who has a really difficult time opening up and showing his true self to others, whether that be physically or emotionally. So Ibuki really helps him open up while Twogami keeps her grounded!
Who dislikes PDA the most: Twogami definitely hates PDA more. Ibuki is aware and tries to be sensitive to his modesty, but gosh she sometimes just has to give Byakuya-chan a big ol kiss! He gets all flustered, but he’s fine with it once he sees how happy it made Ibuki!
Who kills the spider: I feel like these two let the spider outside. :P Or rather, Twogami puts the spider outside after Ibuki has finished having a long conversation with it and has decided that she’s satisfied with their bonding experience.
Who asks the the other to marry them: So I think I can see either way, but I think Ibuki would be the more likely to propose. She would write Twogami a song and perform it for him and then propose! (It would be really cute, but Twogami would have a hard time actually hearing the proposal because of his partial deafness caused by the concert.:P)
Who buys the other flowers or gifts: So they both enjoy giving each other gifts! Twogami loves to give Ibuki strange instruments and quirky musical things. (He gave her a two sided ukulele one time and she loved it!) Ibuki also likes to give Twogami gifts and flowers. She once made him a flower crown because the flowers “looked so soft and loving, just like Byakuya-chan!” (Twogami wore that flower crown all day and glared at anyone that dared to give him a weird look or question him!)
Who would bring up possibly having kids: Twogami would probably be the first to bring this up, because if they were to have kids he’d have to explain why they wouldn’t look anything like him. (Ibuki doesn’t mind though, as she loves Byakuya-chan no matter what he looks like!)
Who is more nervous to meet the parents: I don’t think that Ibuki can get nervous, so I’ll say Twogami. He’d hide it super well, as he’s been posing as a Togami for long enough to know how to properly hide fear, but he would still be nervous!
Who sleeps on the couch when the other is angry: I’d say Twogami does. Ibuki really has to learn how to give others space after an argument, and even if she does get better at it, Twogami would be better off removing himself from the situation when angry.
Who tries to make up first after arguments: Ibuki is quick to forgive and forget, but I don’t know if she’d actually try to make up after an argument. She’s kinda an out of sight out of mind kind of person, so I think Twogami would have to sit her down and talk it out with her to make up with her. It’d be an interesting adjustment for Ibuki, who isn’t as used to doing things that way, but she’d be happy to compromise if it made Twogami happy!
Who tells the other they love them more often: Ibuki says it all the time! She loves showering Twogami with love, whether it be verbal or physical affection, because she knows he deserves it! Twogami is very careful with his words, but when he does say it it makes Ibuki so so happy! :)

Reminder that it really doesn’t matter what ways you’re marginalized, if you’re not black you’re just as capable of anti blackness as white cishet people. No amount of “but I’m gay!”, “but I’m trans!”, or “but I’m not white!” changes that.
And being neurodiverse/disabled isn’t an excuse for anti blackness either.
