His grip loosens, a not-so-subtle smile is carried upon his face, one filled with expectations for Sawatari who gave him his word. 

“You’re serious? You’re the man, Sawatari! Knew I could count on you.”

Only after asking everyone else before him and receiving a stockpile of rejections.

"You see.. I’m not pretty good at this.." A fake low-blow towards himself as if to encourage Sawatari to step, supported by a tone of embarrassment. "So you’ll do most the work! Cool? Cool!”

“Well, you see..”

His grip of Sawatari’s shoulder lessened, followed by Yugo immediately tilting his head to the side, refusing to even make eye-contact with the guy, even though Yugo’s the one asking for his help

“The thing is–”

He had no choice but to ask directly, even if he felt awkward. Coming in terms with that, Yugo immediately jumped in front of the guy, both hands on his shoulders, shaking him back and forth lightly.

“You.. you’re’re good with girls, aren’t ya? You look like you’re the type with experience, so help me hook up with Rin! I dunno how to make any advances and it’s really startin’ to piss me off!”

poor yuugo. even sawatari knew that he was the last person the other blond should ever ask for romantic advice, especially considering his luck with swooning over serena. it takes everything in shingo to not cringe as his normal bravo drains down his spine like sweat in a mere matter of seconds. that might just be a record. 

shingo is stunned still as yuugo shakes him like it was a life or death situation, but he scrambles to come up with a good reply. yuugo honestly had better luck asking dennis for tips. 

“o-of course!” he puffs up his chest for added affect of arrogance, nose pointed up as he places hands surely on his own hips. “I’m the master at scoring chicks!” 

god help them both.

“Hey, this is different, alright? Just watch this! It’ll be great!”

Despite his confidence, deep down, Yugo knew he’d regret this, but he felt like it was too late to back down now, sensing that his pride is on the line if he didn’t go the full way, even if he doesn’t really have to.

Finally, and after a few seconds of stalling, he took a spoonful of the cereal and shoved it in his mouth without even thinking, feeling his body shivering not even seconds later. 

Hesitantly, he tilted his head to the side, with tears forming in his eyes, and a weak, fake smile covering his features.

“N-Not bad.. .haha.. want a taste..?”

“You’re.. speaking from experience? You put juice on your cereal? I’m not one to judge, but ain’t that.. I’unno, a bad idea? I didn’t think you were.. y’know, that kind of person.” With the tip of his finger scratching his cheek, as if to further highlight his skeptical expression, Yugo’s tone of voice seemed like one of disappointment. Like he expected better from her.

And yet, despite his disappointment, his other hand is already grabbing a spoon, mixing the juice, cereal, and sugar together excitedly, as if he can’t wait to try out his creation. 

…Why was he even judging her to begin with? 

“I feel like you secretly want some.. you can taste it if you’re that curious, but you don’t gotta lie..”

          “Coming from the guy literally about to put juice on his cereal,” she replied dryly, scrunching her nose at his bowl. Oh wow, that looked…bad. She needed to take a full step back before he spit that nasty stuff right back out and on her.

          “Unlike you, I was about 8 years old and assumed it was a good idea. You are far older and still think this is a good idea,” she pointed out, maneuvering herself away from his direct line of sight.

          Well, she warned him.

“Well, you see..”

Yugo exclaimed cheerfully, locking his arm around the other’s shoulder, albeit a little too aggressively. He was happy to see him again!

And.. more importantly, he got a favor to ask.

“How’ve you been? I didn’t see you in a while! Wanna do me a quick favor?”

…Subtle.

“You don’t even get it? Man, c’mon.. low level and high level doesn’t matter if you live in a dimension full of monsters without levels, right?” 

Yugo tightened the lock around Yuto’s shoulder, with a voice loud enough to match his tight grasp. 

“My Clear Wing’s effect works all the monsters in my dimension have levels, so how’d you even utilize your Dark Rebellion’s effect against so many XYZ monsters?”

No one would be able to tell what’s worse--the tight grab, his loud voice, or his sarcastic tone of voice. All three made or an annoying combo Yuto’s forced to put up with.

“Hold up.. you’re from the XYZ Dimension, right? XYZ monsters are kinda.. the  shtick where you guys are, so how come your Dark Rebellion only works on level 5 or higher monsters? Isn’t that a little cheap?”

Almost as if to rub it in even more, Yugo locked his arm around Yuto’s shoulder, acting like he didn’t indirectly make fun of his dragon just a second ago.

          “Dark Rebellion’s effect is better used on higher level monsters. Low level monsters aren’t likely to surpass Rebellion’s attack as a generalization.” Dulled grey-lavender eyes narrow in annoyance at how uncomfortably close Yuugo was to him.

          “Your Clear Wing’s effect also only targets level 5 or higher monsters, doesn’t it?” Somehow, Yuuto doesn’t think his subtle glare is going to get Yuugo off of him.

Yugo, not only did he, completely unprompted approach Sora without a greeting or anything, he even--albeit without any bad intentions--took the lollipop from him and just to look at it.

He won’t even eat it.

“Where do you get all that candy? You always have some on you and I’ve never really seen ya buy ‘em... you got like, dunno, a secret stash somewhere?”

 Awestruck, Yugo stood in front of the guy without even a second thought. He didn’t care if he was busy or not, that guy is just walking around carrying a crocodile on his back.

Yugo didn’t even reconsider before brushing off her words, clearly not seeing anything wrong with what he’s trying to test out. 

He was out of milk, so he’s using juice instead of milk for cereal, what could possibly go wrong?

          “Yuugo, I’m speaking from experience.”

          She put a hand on her hip and eyed the juice skeptically, as if it could turn around and tell Yuugo this was a bad idea. They could just go to the store and get milk, anything to prevent whatever horrible concoction this would make! Then again, if he wouldn’t listen, maybe he needed to learn his lesson.

          “Don’t do it.”

          “You know that little voice in your head that tells you ‘this is a bad idea’? Do you have one of those? Because I don’t think you do and I worry about that.” It’s not that Yuzu didn’t trust Yuugo, it’s just that sometimes people couldn’t see bad ideas for what they were.

          She’s a little worried this is one of those times.
