Aitvaras, Damavikas, Pukis

Origin: Lithuania The Aitvaras is a black chicken but outdoors the Aitvaras appears as a 2 foot long dragon with a serpentine body and four legs. In some districts the Aitvaras has wings and flies through the air trailing fire. The Aitvaras may hatch from the egg of a 9 to 12 year old rooster. When an Aitvaras dies it becomes a spark. An Aitvaras will lodge itself in a house refusing to leave. Abada

Origin: The Congo The Abada is similar to a unicorn with a deer-like head and the size of an ox. The Abada has two horns, one on it's forehead and the other on it's nose. The Abada was first reported by Giovanni Cavazzi and later reported by Girolamo Merolla.

Adlet, Erqigdlit

Origin: Inuit people (Alaska United States, Canada and Greenland) The Adlet are bloodthirsty, flesh-eating, werewolf-like creatures that attack anyone they encounter and are the result of a union between an Inuit woman and a giant dog. The Adlet wander the tundra in packs, seeking out Inuit villages to feed on.

Alicanto, Allicanto

Origin: Chile The Alicanto are large nocturnal, luminescent birds with feathers shine with metallic color and eyes that emit strange lights that live in the caves and mines of Chile. The size and shape of The Alicanto varies on the sighting with there being two types of Alicanto, one feeds on gold and one feeds on silver, sometimes eating so much that they weigh too much to fly. The colour and glow of the Alicanto 's feathers depend on their diet. Abyssal Rainbow Gar

Origin: North Atlantic Ocean The Abyssal Rainbow Gar is 4 inches long blue body, scarlet head, a yellow tail and a long beak similar to a gar fish. The Abyssal Rainbow Gar has only been reported once in the early 1930's in a dive dive off Bermuda at a depth of 2500 feet by William Beebe.

Origin: 1994 Air rods are similar to Crop circles in that they do exist we just don't know what they are/what causes them. Air rods have never been seen live with the naked eye but are picked up by cameras and cell phones all over the world. Aberdeen Wildman

Origin: Aberdeen Scotland The Aberdeen Wildman's sighting was recorded in the book 'Encounter with the Aberdeen Wildman: A True Story' by Frank Bennett. Baltimore area in the 1980s and was wandering about the wilderness one winter night. He suddenly stopped when he saw a figure in the brush in front of him. The figure was partially silhouetted but he could make its ape-like features of its face. It had bulging eyes that were staring at him intensely. He described it to be wearing a clean white dress shirt and blue slacks. When Frank took one step towards it it went wild and began trashing about and screaming. Suddenly it jumped 10 feet vertically into the air in the trees above and continued thrashing and screaming. After that it swung out of sight.

Origin: Indonesia The Abath is unicorn like creature with one horn in its forehead, which is brown-gray in color and is prized as a great remedy against poison and first reported in the 16th century. Edmund Barker reported that they purchased 2 or 3 horns of Abath in the kingdom of Iunsalaom (now Phuket Island in Thailand)

Adze

Origin: Ewe people (Southern Togo, West Africa) The Adze are vampiric creature that turns itself into a firefly or other insect to feed before returning to its human form. Adze can transform themselves into any number of common insects which are seemingly harmless, and very difficult to capture. The Adze have a taste only for the blood of children with a preference for infants. The Adze can also feed on palm oil and coconut water and often raid a village’s entire supply, but become dangerously weak if they do not feed on the blood of children. An Adze can sustain itself without needing to kill any child. It can take enough blood to survive. However, if the Adze is deterred or thwarted from feeding for a long enough period of time, it will go on a ravenous frenzy for blood. he Adze can also have the power to possess a human and become a living vampire. When an Adze is captured their magic will be lost and they will revert back to their human form. This is the only way to destroy the Adze. There is no way to protect against an Adze. Nothing will keep them out, or keep a child safe from its attacks

Altamaha-ha, Altie

Origin: Southern Georgia (The country not the state) The Altamaha-ha is a sea creature that is gray with a whitish-yellow underbelly with a sturgeon like body including a bony ridge on its top, flippers and no back limbs, the snout of a crocodile and swims like dolphin. The Altamaha-ha is sometimes green and lives in the Altamaha River in southern Georgia
