Chopin’s pocket diary for the year 1848, containing several of his drawings and notes concerning his journey to England and Scotland of the same year, dates and names of cities where he performed and names of his students. On this page he made a drawing of a cemetery, with a few crosses and gravestones (perhaps foreshadowing the imminence of his own death).

Placed inside one of the pockets of the binding, was that envelope, which contained a lock of George Sand’s hair.

1500’s – Poland not affected by Reformation, or Counter-Reformation, because many religions, co-existed. Catholic Bishops were appointed by King of Poland, not Rome; and Kings often ignored Rome’s edicts. As one official said, “It’s not about religion, it’s about (personal) liberty.” = Human Rights were upheld. (The spirit of legality and humanism pervaded Polish society.)

1500’s – “Sarmatian” style of dress and behavior became popular as Poles liked to believe themselves to be descended from  warriors who had inhabited the steppes near the Black Sea. Sarmatism was a congenial way of life which other countries found attractive. Poles did not like to put money away.  They invested in things they could use and show off – clothes, jewels, servants (whom they also dressed in jewels), horses (which they even painted), etc.  Also, ritual was introduced into every activity.  This exuberance diffused passions and allowed the people to live in harmony.

1539 – Freedom of the press by royal decree.

1543 – The publication of Mikolaj Kopernik’s report that the earth revolves around the sun sent shockwaves throughout Europe.

1573 – The freedom to practice any religion without penalty or discrimination was written into the Constitution.

1573 – The szlachta were given the power to elect a king.  (The szlachta were more than just the nobility –  those obligated to fight for their country.  They were about 10 % of the population of the Commonwealth, but included people from all classes, economic backgrounds, religions, and was multi-racial.)  Such elections were unthinkable to most other European nations.

Am I the only one who thinks Gallifrey: Time War missed a great opportunity to make a WW2 reference? I’d like to hear Romana saying that Daleks will just destroy Monans or Nekkistani and chill. She could also carry around an umbrella and promice “Peace for our time”. Oh wait, I guess we can’t show Romana for a terrible politician that she is, and making ill-placed references to the American election is just this much more exciting.

Edit: some of you have pointed out in the comments that i made an error with the race and also my sexual preference . But does it matter what race Tchalla is? There are white people in Africa too. Or this could be a side effect of the vibranium.

A lot of white characters are made black, so whats the problem now? You guys are being hypocrites

EDIT 2.0 : People saying that he has to black because of some stupid reason that hes from africa. Thats bullshit , that means that Heimdall has to be white because hes a Norse mythology god who are all white yet he was made black

I posted a similar chart just a couple of days ago, but time is relative, so I think this updated version is not a moment too soon. There are some fixes and additions, especially post-Romana, but most importantly – a whole new category of Chancellors. Cheers from all the unbelievable nerds of Russia.

I’m not sure about English, but in Russian there’s a beautiful expression “вертеть на хую” – to spin (something) on one’s dick. It means to despise something or not to give a damn about something. And whenever I see the cover for Big Finish’s Time in Office I can’t help remembering it. Sorry.
