Day 9 — Usa

“He came up with a load of stories with me as the star! I was so happy!” — Usa, Star of Your Own Story

Usa is a cheerful bunny plushie that resides in the Wonderland SEKAI. While going by the name ‘Usa’, her name is written as ‘Bunny Plushie’ in-game. She is a part of the side cast for Wonderlands x Showtime and debuts in the Main Story.

Usa is a plush toy belonging to Saki in the real world. She was used by Tsukasa as a character starring in his first series of shows (‘Bunny’s Big Adventures’) as a child, hence her appearance in his sekai. In the game files, she is listed as ‘tsukasadoll’.

Usa appears in the Main Story and Star of Your Own Story, with a fair amount of minor features linked with the other Wonderland Sekai plushies.

My thoughts? Usa is an adorable character, her interactions with Tsukasa are very endearing, I evidently love her. I’m looking forward to more scenes with her considering how fun her minor features are! I can’t fail to mention her role in StarStory, that scene remains one of my favourites in the game, it sure did get me.

Day 8 — Mita Kotaro

“I want to surpass RAD WEEKEND with you and the others…!” — Kotaro, Burn My Soul

Kotaro is a passionate yet doubtful character. Over the course of the game, he builds himself genuine confidence and will alongside Vivid Street’s up and coming street performers. He is a part of the side cats for Vivid BAD SQUAD and debuts in the Main Story, in which he is dubbed ‘Musician’ within the dialogue box before his name is revealed as Kotaro.

He is a vocalist and emcee for Vivid BAD SQUAD, but starts up a channel solo after their arc ender. He is referred to as ‘chordnukio’ in the files (the act of pulling a chord, a reference to his main story).

Kotaro makes appearances in the Main Story, Stray Bad Dog, Bout for Beside You, The Power of Unity, Walk On and On, Find a Way Out, Light Up the Fire, On Your Feet, Burn My Soul, Whip the Wimp Girl, Over RAD SQUAD and Rekindle the Flame.

My thoughts? I love Kotaro! I firmly believe his arc was the strongest the side cast (at least, with VBS) could offer. He’s one lovely character, and is just a joy to have on screen. Absolutely among my favourites, all things considered.

Day 7 — Hayakawa Nanami (Nanamin)

“Hehe. You must really be something to have earned everyone’s trust like this!” — Nanami, Hear Me! Hopeful Show

Nanami is an earnest, friendly character. She is curious and spontaneous, but means well. She is a part of the side cast for More More Jump! and debuts in Hear Me! Hopeful Show.

Nanami was an idol prior to the events of the game, previously working for agency CreamBerry. As of current, she is a popular streamer going by ‘Nanamin’, with over 800 million subscribers in counting. Her streamer title is simultaneously what her model is listed under in the name files (‘nanamin’).

Nanami appears in events Hear Me! Hopeful Show, More More Making Christmas and At This Festival Bathed in Twilight.

My thoughts? I really liked Nanamin! She wasn’t all too relevant, but I loved how welcoming she was with Minori in Hopeful Show. She’s a very wholesome character and I can’t deny that she was among my favourites at a point.

Day 6 — Mio

“I want to keep walking the same path as Iori…!” — Mio, Resonating With You

Mio is a timid character with drive in spite of that. Her fears stem from her connections with those close to her, and she grows to switch it in for strength and readiness. Mio is a part of the side cast for Leo/need and debuts in the event story for Resonating With You. She is a member of sub-unit STANDOUT.

Mio is the bassist of professional band STANDOUT, but does pose as someone a part of another operation within the band during Shiho’s first encounter with her in Resonating With You. The game files have her model titled ‘mio’ alongside ‘standoutbase’.

She appears in events Resonating With You, The Night Sky We Saw That Day, Someday in the Distant Future (Hinomori Shiho, Chapter 1), and Happy Enjoy Music.

My thoughts? I love Mio! Although Iori takes the title of ‘favourite leo/need side character’, she’s absolutely close. Her development over the course of ResoWithYou was spectacular, and her interactions with Iori, I find adorable. I’m looking forward to seeing more of her in coming events, considering it’s evident there’s more to be done with STANDOUT!

Day 5 — Kanade’s Father

“Look at me. I’m just rambling on about myself.” — Kanade’s father, Carnation Recollection

Kanade’s father is a kind-hearted, dedicated composer. He is currently nameless and part of the side cast for Nightcord at 25:00. As his in-game title would suggest, he is the father of Yoisaki Kanade. He debuted in the Main Story, but had his first instance of speech in Carnation Recollection.

He worked on compositions and songs for a living prior to the events of the game, before going into a comatose state. While he is able to occasionally hold conversations, his memory has been severely impaired. In the game files, he is listed as ‘kanadefather’.

Kanade’s father makes appearances in the main story, Carnation Recollection, The Way I Played That Day, and Embraced By Bubbles (Opening, Yoisaki Kanade Chapters 1 and 2).

My thoughts? I love this character. The Yoisaki family’s dynamic is the sweetest thing in the world to me, and I believe the three of them deserve practically everything. His moment with her in Carnation Recollection absolutely ruined me.

Day 4 — Rabbit Kigirumi

“Thanks to your efforts, it seems like Ms. Emu will open up more now.” — Kigirumi, ‘Balloon Presenter’ 2-Star Side Story

With no known technical name, Rabbit Kigirumi is simply titled after the costume he’s seen wearing, He is cold, professional, yet protective of one Emu Otori, and may occasionally act out when she appears to be in danger. He is part of the side cast for Wonderlands x Showtime and debuts in the Main Story.

He is a staff member and mascot actor for Phoenix Wonderland. However, he is believed to be some sort of undercover bodyguard by Rui. In the game files, he is titled ‘wondermascot’.

He appears solely in the Main Story. (To my knowledge, please feel free to correct me on any other features he has during events!)

My thoughts? I like him! He starts of a very entertaining character and Tsukasa’s fear of him was admittedly hilarious, but his care for Emu is very endearing, and the Balloon Presenter side story definitely got an audible ‘aww’ out of me.

Day 3 — Shiraishi Ken

“Today, I’ll tell you everything.” — Ken, Light Up the Fire

Ken is a dependable and empathetic character. Although strong and determined, he’s shown to simultaneously harbour grief and regret. He is part of the side cast for Vivid BAD SQUAD and debuts in the main story. He is the father of An Shiraishi and was a part of the sub-unit RADder.

Ken was a street artist and singer, choosing to retire after the RAD WEEKEND event was held and instead maintaining the cafe ‘WEEKEND GARAGE’ full-time.

He appears in the majority of Vivid BAD SQUAD’s event stories alongside the main story, playing a mostly minor supporting role before becoming a more relevant figure after the events of Light Up the Fire and On Your Feet.

My thoughts? Although I haven’t completed Vivid BAD SQUAD’s story in its entirety (I’ve gotten to ‘Over RAD SQUAD’), I’m really liking Ken so far! I especially love the family dynamic between he and An, and Vivid BAD SQUAD by extension. I do still hold him accountable for keeping the truth from her, but he was well-intentioned, and I do keep that in mind. Overall sound character!

Day 2 — Mai

“She was my most important friend, and yet… How could I have said such horrible things?” — Mai, More More Jump! Main Story

Mai is an ambitious, determined and caring character. She is slightly excitable, and wishes to support those she cares for, best she can. She is part of the side cast for More More Jump! and debuts in the Main Story. She was part of the sub-unit ASRUN prior to the events of the game.

While part of ASRUN, Mai took on the position of idol. However, later on, she is shown to now be pursuing work as a stage actress, to much success. Name-wise, her model is titled ‘harukafan’ in the game files.

Mai is featured in the Main Story, and Tied By Painful Hope.

My thoughts? I loved Mai! I really felt for her during the main story, and seeing her not only regain her footing through her new profession, but find it in her to continue to support others, did make me happy. I’m looking forward to seeing her appear again, I’d love to see more positive interactions between her and More More Jump considering how much I loved her Tied By Painful Hope feature!

Hello! Welcome to daily-proseka-side-cast! This is a blog dedicated to the, well, Project SEKAI Colourful Stage side cast. Each day, an info card on an NPC will be posted. I personally have no set definition for a member of the side cast, and will thus be primarily using those listed on the wiki, and maybe slip in a character or too I myself love too much. You’re free to ask me whatever through the ask box, I don’t mind questions, even if unrelated! I hope you enjoy your time here!

I did absolutely get inspiration from @daily-pjsk-npcs, so do check them out — Their work is wonderfully insightful!

Note that, although I will make use of the wiki, Mikudayo is excluded, as it is simply Wonderlands x Showtime’s Miku in a suit, much as I love that gag.

Day 1 — Iori

“When I realised that I should just go my own way, everything became so much easier.” — Iori, A Bright Future

Iori is a reliable and headstrong character, she’s shown to easily pick up others’ fundamentals and is set in her goals. She is part of the side cast for Leo/need and debuts in the event Don’t Let Doubts Hold You Back. She’s part of the sub-unit STANDOUT (my personal favourite sub-unit alongside ReLight, I’ll admit).

She performs on stage, and her role is not specified to my knowledge, but she doubles as STANDOUT’s lyricist. She expresses prioritising wording her thoughts best when it comes to writing music. In the game files, she is listed solely as ‘iori’ in regard to name.

Iori appears in events Don’t Let Doubts Hold You Back (although her feature is quite limited), Musical Twilight Parade, Resonating with You, A Bright Future, The Night Sky We Saw That Day, Someday in the Distant Future (Hinomori Shiho, Chapter 1), Our Constellation of Song, and Happy Enjoy Music.

My thoughts? Fantastic character! I’ve adored her since debut. I’ll admit I didn’t like how she’d gone about Mio’s ‘abandonment’, but afterwards, I really started loving her. I’m looking forward to seeing what they’re planning on doing with her considering Happy Enjoy Music’s surprisingly ominous ending note.
