@wyrmskin has not been active in the last several years but i need you to know this series (I read Rainwild first in 2014, and then followed with the rest of the Realm of the Elderlings series) changed my entire brain forever. I owe a life debt to both you and Robin Hobb. i have been obsessed with these books for an entire decade now.
And while dragons are lesser presence in the rest of the series i HIGHLY recommend everyone who enjoys fantasy read them. Start with the Farseer Trilogy, which begins with the book "Assassin's Apprentice". don't look up info ahead of time just trust me on this you Have to read them
You know of the Rainwild Chronicles by Robin Hobb? I highly recommend it! Yhe dragons have a very different life cycle. They start as serpents, coccoon themselves, then hatch to dragons. These dragons are intelligent and live by ancestral memories. The main group of dragons hatch sort of deformed and its up to some keepers to escort them to their ancient land. Awesome read!
