It was glorious, defied words, it was better than cinema. Personally I would easily say that April 8th was one of my best days so far this year, with the eclipse and the journey I undertook to view it. I simply had so much fun! ☀️

It's really more like I suddenly have less eyestrain while reading and doing handicrafts, and now I've got some sharp magnification for those things, and oncoming headlights no longer show me the sixth dimension when I'm driving at night. This is kind of an exaggeration for me. Still, the professional assurance that some farsighted vision modification has indeed occurred to your eyeballs in the last 20+ years can be a little jarring when you were *convinced* that you were just nuts and "seeing things" when you thought you might be developing symptoms of astigmatism. 🥸

I've gotta say it's been way easier to be on time for my morning classes this semester. However, this has only been possible for me because I've promised myself a fancy little coffee drink at the local family-owned cafe when I make it to class on time. Not the best financial decision I could make right now really, but after all it is getting me to class, which will get me my degree, which will qualify me for my dream job.

So if you think about, it's actually an investment 💸

*sighs* What a year it's been, Jellybeans. It has actually been one of the hardest years of my life, full of emotionally taxing family crises, and the stresses of being a full-time college student after a nearly three year hiatus from school on top of pre-existing struggles with anxiety.

And yet it has also been one of the best years ever, as I am closer to my friends than I've ever been and their love is actually so life-giving. I have met multiple long-distance friends in person for the first time this year. One of them introduced me to Lackadaisy during one of the most stressful periods of this year, and it has given me hours of joy and distraction. I have reconnected with old friends and made new ones, and I have been feeling more artistically inspired than I have in years.

And so thank you to my wonderful friends, to the Jellybeans who I do so enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for this webcomic with, and to all artists, writers, and creators who have helped to make this year not only bearable but also a good time, both for myself and for everyone who takes comfort in art and story.

May all your winter holidays be filled with peace, light, and joy this season! 🎄

Since officially beginning Christmas/Winter break on Monday, things have been very chalant actually and I do not quite know what to do with all this extra time I have since I didn't manage to score a temporary part-time job. 😅

Actually I know exactly what I will be doing over break, I will be resting and recharging, Jellybeans ✨

If you also just finished a busy semester, congratulations. If your major achievement was simply surviving this entire year, congratulations, I am so proud of you, and you should be proud of yourself. 🩷

May these last few weeks of the year be kind to us all and be a time of peace, light, and hope in the cold, dreary, dark part of the year. ❄️
