This is a beautiful picture of Maya Angelou made by Richard Kenworthy. She is one of my favorite African-American writers of all time. One quote that really gets me, especially when I'm down is, "You are enough. You have nothing to prove to anybody". Another quote from her that I truly like is "Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better." I believe these quotes really apply to women across the globe who don't believe they can do it when in reality, they can shoot for the stars

When I came across this picture, I thought, this is true, but it is also the scary truth. Women all over the world can do things men cannot and that is what makes us powerful. But we must not let the power get to our heads. I want to learn more about how women changed history through literature in this course
