Hi hello I want you to look at my son Nik

He's one of the main characters in my silly story and if I get into his lore we'd be here for days, which is where most of my time was spent to begin with

Art dump of two (2) finished pieces and some wips that I probably won't finish, plus a little fella

Brain movements detailed below

1st piece: A character from my story I'm writing, Ghoul, he hasn't popped up just yet but essentially he's a vampire that died in the 1880s and dresses in fashion from the 1980s in the 2020-30s, the figure behind him is a self portrait of his alive self in the 1880s, I dropped that one for now because perspective on objects and rendering legs get tiring to draw.

2nd piece: A goddess from the same story, she just goes by the Maiden, she's the one who allowed vampires to happen after resurrecting a dead child who was sacrificed to another god and was rejected, the black figure is her unrestrained divine form, while the more human one is her disguise to hide amongst humans.

3rd piece: Ghoul's semi girlfriend, Hisako, she's a former wrestler and a licensed nurse, she and Ghoul aren't on the same page on how they feel about each other even though it's plain and simple they're meant for each other and by all means should be dating and having a spring wedding, but alas.

4th piece: smal nik, one of the two main characters in the story

5th piece: My chemist from Potion Permit, a game my brother bought me for my birthday that I was briefly obsessed with.

6th piece: An older drawing that I had sitting around that I went and rendered, it's supposed to be Snow White if the evil queen's hired man actually did kill her, but she then came back to life as a vampire, the implication being Snow actually was a threat and she wasn't entirely innocent.

Wip Wthursday

I'm not giving any excuses for my absence other than I've been working to feed my five children and seven husbands so anyway

I posted the piece this is for in an art dump which I will be revisiting, the first step being to draw out the armor beforehand both as an exercise and to know what I'm doing, which is a lot of effort for essentially fanart of a modpack I enjoy where the characters interacting in such a way is nowhere close to canon, but I do what I want and I fill my own niches so *ppbbttt*

I will attempt to be more active here, I do have art I'd like to post but problem 1 it's oc things out of context that I want to cough up along with the story I'm writing so it makes sense, and problem 2 a good chunk of the art is of naked or half naked people, not that there's shame in nudity it just feels odd to post, but I would like to show what I've made eventually.

Hey, I am still existent but art is slow and unproductive, since I'm busy piecing together an entirely new project and what's been made of the characters are just sketches and simple doodles.

Either way, I've made it known that I make my own bases, I use both easypose and Magic Poser on mobile, and here's some of my old work vs their bases which I still hang onto and will gladly let them bloat my resource folder

Hi Night!! I was wondering... If you could tell me about the bones? (Vaughn) Some? Like how come he was born a bunch of bones? Does that mean he invented bones? :O I am very intrigued :O

I was laid there, in the fresh soil of this earth, gazing at the night sky. Newborn stars emerged from nebulae in a chaotic pattern, stringing together the lace of the cosmos. I never questioned who I was, where I was, or what I came from, I was cradled by dirt, dead from the moment I was born. A light turned to look at me, more complex than any star I watched, it had a face of swirling patterns and a gaze that of a new parent, lovingly looking at their child, I was loved, and the light put their hands to my face, and told me my purpose. A god was born that day.

^ The poem I wrote about Vaughn's "birth", which yeah he was basically poofed into existence as a bunch of bones, giant ones at that as his bassinet was the face of a hill, consider it a godly stillbirth as he was only allowed life again by divine intervention and a higher power giving him life and his purpose as a god of war.

A lot of Vaughn's iconography is that of a parental figure or the absence and memory of one, he is formally called the Warfather and sees the vampires he made as his children, which vampires in his world are created via a person A dying without a proper burial, B dying with a lot of hatred from those around them, warranted or unwarranted, or C dying by their own hand or the hand of a lover's to become a vampire.

Vaughn essentially represents those who are led down dark paths due to not being nurtured as a child and having to find family in others not of their blood, as well as soldiers who have no other home than the battlefield due to how much war changes a person, and the ones who do die in battle Vaughn takes care of their souls as the family is left to grieve.

As for his relationship with other gods, Vaughn had a bit of a thing for the Sun (eh the goddess representative) when humanity was still forming and Vaughn's nature had yet to truly manifest, he enjoyed arguing with her and watching primitive life wage small wars. But the straw that broke their already weak relationship came during the dark ages of humanity. A nun that had long turned away from her god was ousted in front of her village, she had been deflowering the would be husbands of other women and breaking up many loving marriages, she was tried and hung, the village folk not even bothering with a burial as they cast her body to the woods for the animals to have at. Vaughn took interest in her corpse, letting her have one more chance to wreak havoc, a creature of the night that sucks the essence from the living as payment for the disrespect they received in life. The Sun was furious with him, breaking off their relationship* and damning any vampires to burn to ash in her light, and that is how it has been for centuries, with some revisions and exceptions as time has passed and the surviving vampires have aged.

*Yeah no they still get together from time to time, I mean the Sun absolutely hates Vaughn but he's also a freak so it works out

Vaughn also has a divine daughter, in that he cursed the bloodline of a Sun worshiping family to eventually produce an incarnation of himself, or a "vision" as it's come to be called. Sariel was the daughter of a renowned and skilled vampire hunter, but the dark and grim called to her, the stories of demonic creatures that tempted the good from the dark, only intrigued her. She was a fighter growing up, sparring with children her age and always reigning victorious, eventually she managed to overpower her own father in a fight, and then offered to hunt with him, but she had other ideas, a soft voice in the dark would speak to her on evening walks, cold hands with no pulse would become laced with hers, and Sariel would find love with a vampire woman. Sariel's father would wake to find her missing, and a visit to a Sun worshiping kingdom would have him met with the tragedy of a priestess killed in cold blood, no clues but the signs of struggle, and deep punctures in the priestess' neck. Sariel would begin her adventures, now Valkyrie, newly initiated as a vampire with her lover, and the divine child of Vaughn.

As for the other three apocalypse gods, I'khira is the god of famine, The Starved God, and for the time being he and Vaughn have a small thing between them too, but there's not much detail to what they have. Erebus is the god(ess) of death, Lady Silence, and she doesn't ever take sides in what is essentially a divine high school drama, she's less a harbinger of death and more the act itself of death, leaving the souls and judgement of those souls to their respective gods. Ysenia is the god of pestilence, The Mooncalf God, and its birth could be a story of its own as its technically a child of the Sun in that it was a defect sprout when plants were still forming, but it and Vaughn almost see each other as siblings, as illness and health often battle much like opposing armies, but Ysenia does its own thing and isn't interested in love or companionship, since not much to love in a mass of infectious creatures, diseased plant matter and cancerous human tissue yknow?

lore dump under the cut

1st: My pfp for any of my mortician accounts, it was originally a birthday drawing for my friend and I really liked the composition and it makes a good pfp, I often start drawings or put a lot of detail into the face to make into a pfp lel. The characters unfortunately don't have names or stories behind them, and the drawing was made on a normal tablet with my drawing tablet jerry rigged with it when my computer was still broken. 2nd: Two characters from a minecraft modpack I put a few dozen hours into, I don't know if I'll finish it because the lighting is more complicated than I'm used to, but hey two sworn enemies dancing together what's not to love. 3rd: bunce, a silly garfield knockoff I drew with my mouse and is an inside joke with my sibling

4th: An unfinished piece I started real strong with but like a lot of things the lighting lost me, I wanna go back and just dab on some simple cel shading and call it good at some point. The character is Omega, another of my cyberpunk creatures and the counterpart brother to Delta, he's a dj with cybernetic legs instead of arms, a screen visor and ears and a much more bouncy (heh) personality as opposed to Delta. 5th and 6th: My little god oc Vaughn and some doodles of him, the same war god as mentioned in this post and long story short he's the sun's ex boyfriend and thus why vampires aren't allowed in sunlight, and he is functionally dead in that he was born as a bunch of huge bones in the earth as shown by the bottom drawing, and is representative of war in the quartet of other gods who represent pestilence, famine and death, I'll save it for now.

Went and redid the skin I made end of last year, which I'm still proud of despite novaskin starting to break down on me, leaving what was supposed to be a dragon without a tail or snout and some flaws I had to live with like the top of the torso and other usually hidden parts looking gross when they do show, but I think this is a good cleanup I call them Zezi btw

Wip Wtuesday #wah

Two fruits this time of year eh

Left is Xi the first piece I posted to this blog, and right is Satanus a checks notes corrupted dryad vampire cleric of a war god, and he may or may not be scheming to raise his dead friend from hell and kill the divine daughter of the same god he worships, huh

Some yappings under the cut about my current state, it's not dire or anything /gen

So I've been feeling a little uninspired as of recent, I have highs and lows with my artflow where I can sneeze out a beautiful piece and then lay on the floor surrounded by a bunch of inferior ideas, but that's just the artist experience for plenty of people I'm sure, especially given I have adhd (diagnosed) and autism (undiagnosed) and am not medicated for either, it's a whole story I could yap about for a good while.

I doubt I'll make a piece for this week of the august challenge, I am attending some classes most of this and next week on top of work, it's so I can get my ged and properly attend college so the mortician part of my name is true rather than an aesthetic thing.

The latest piece for the August challenge *sparkles*

Thought process detailed below 👇

The inspiration is a bit all over the place but given the prompts were wrath, pride and greed, I held no punches when it came to ideas, I knew I wanted to do something angelic but play on the idea of an anti angel or a fallen archangel (or some other higher order angel I forget the types), as well as the perspective prompt and going with the dark side of the moon, which kinda lost it's hold as I was drawing but it adds to the abstraction of the concept. Boiled down the anti angel represents wrath, the peacock imagery pride, and the jewelry greed, which the rings and bracelets are the halos of murdered angels, as shown by the blood and the cuffs on the top set of hands having eyes. There's some offhand things thrown in there, like the arms outnumbering the wings which are colored to be like peacock wings, there being no actual functional eyes anywhere on the angel, and their face being hidden which is likely for the better, as I doubt you'd want to see the twisted face of an angel that slaughters it's own kind.

Oh yeah and tiny pink floyd reference in the triangle in the background, and the initial vibe was inspired by the Malidramagiuan from the "What happened to site 13" SCP series over on the Mr.Ilustrated channel, which I just adore in general I'd totally recommend giving it a watch through

Wip Wthursday Wsunday #?

Yeah yeah I haven't been keeping up with this blog it's fine

Anyway, here's the wip/flats of my sexy dullahan boy (his name is Beollán by the way) and as you can see I changed the neck fire at some point, for the better because I completely forgot how to draw flames and I had to skim over some refs before coming back.

Oh yeah, the background image is from the modpack Fear Nightfall, but you can achieve the same effect with the Insanity shader, I took a few screenshots but I only used the one.

Here's a hung decapitated head I threw together that I didn't use :)

Hello!!!... Machina Gigas looks so cool! Any lore tid-bits you'd mind sharing? :O If not that's totally fine, and regardless have a wonderful rest of your day/night! :]

Lore wise she's not fully fleshed out, but the basics are that she comes from a planet inhabited by reptilians, and they have the ability to drop and regrow limbs due to the harsh conditions of the planet with its fauna, however in Machina's case she couldn't because of a defect in her genes, and it was a rare one too as her immediate family and community didn't really know how to deal with it, and instead of helping her adapt they just insisted that she'd grow her arms back, but of course, they didn't.

Machina eventually got sick of it and retreated away from her family with a good friend that helped design new arms for her, going through prototypes and eventually settling on the big bulky arms, Machina shedding her birth name and voyaging the planet with her friend.

Her backstory is also a light transgender allegory, along with being trans herself though to her people it's not as big of a deal, men and women look identical anatomy wise aside from who has the babies and their social roles are similar.

Personality wise she's quiet and cold, she doesn't trust new people off the bat and ironically is quick to judge them or be weirded out by their unusual aspects, but with those she trusts she's physically affectionate and has a slight staring problem.

She's also big into metal and rock music and she loves mushroom pasta, made with the native exotic mushrooms of her planet ofc.

And her original drawing next to the updated one, she had her legs gone too but I didn't want to clutter the design, and I wanted to do something bold with her colors but I settled on monochrome purple with a pop of toxic green, she still smokes tho
