A lot of people ask me what my biggest fear is, or what scares me most. And I know they expect an answer like heights, or closed spaces, or people dressed like animals, but how do I tell them that when I was 17 I took a class called Relationships For Life and I learned that most people fall out of love for the same reasons they fell in it. That their lover’s once endearing stubbornness has now become refusal to compromise and their one track mind is now immaturity and their bad habits that you once adored is now money down the drain. Their spontaneity becomes reckless and irresponsible and their feet up on your dash is no longer sexy, just another distraction in your busy life. Nothing saddens and scares me like the thought that I can become ugly to someone who once thought all the stars were in my eyes.

C’mon 2016, is that all ya got!?

Rough start to 2016 I would say. A lot of life adjusting/adapting events have taken place and it isn’t even February yet! But I’m not writing this to focus on the negative and the past - there’s things in life you can’t change, there just isn’t so much you can do.

Instead, I’m writing this to remind myself to stay in it. Keep thrivin! I truly believe that things happen for a reason. The Man upstairs knows best. I believe that as hard times arise, greater things are just around the corner. 

My mindset lately isn’t to focus on, “Well at least it can’t get any worse.” Instead, I like to think in terms of, “Okay, since this happened - I know for sure something great will happen.”

Pain is perception. You can choose to sulk, or you can choose to take that experience - flip it - and then understand greater things are coming. 

So what’s up, 2016? Do what you gotta do. Just know that I’m planning for the greater things. And I know they’re coming. You can’t bring me down. BELIEVE THAT!
