Hello E-vay! This is a very curious question, but I would like to know if there was a time when you were away from the Sonic fandom for a while (not necessarily online, but in the sense of decrease interest, you know?) I ask this because I've known Sonic since I was little and I really became a fan of him in 2016, and my favorite media was Sonic Boom. With the end of the series, I was a little disappointed and left it a little aside in 2018. A few years have passed, but even though I wasn't as interested as I was back then, I still found out about the release of the films and some media such as games, the release of Sonic Prime and others. Until last year I decided to give it a chance and I started enjoying Sonic frequently again. Now looking back I regret having left it aside for a few years and I imagine how much of things I would enjoy back then. I'm just asking you this because sometimes I feel like a "fake fan" and I feel upset. So I would like to know if I am not alone in this. So when I see profiles that are from back then active and who keep talking about Sonic, I'm like "wow! I should have continued back then". Including your profile! I loved seeing back then, and today, I love it too! ❤️

Hello! First of all, I encourage you to not look at yourself as a 'fake fan' and don't let anybody call you that, either. I think if you like something, that's enough. It upsets me when I see people judging how much of a 'fan' you are by the amount of hours and money you put into something. Not only is it prejudice and elitist, it's just rude. If you love it, that's all that matters!

It is absolutely normal to fall in and out of your interests! That's just the way our silly human minds work: We get sucked into something and it may last a long time or it may last a short while, and eventually we may lose interest, and then something might kickstart that interest again. I went through the same thing myself! Though I've loved Sonic since I was born and I will always call myself a super fan, I too fell out of it for a few years (in fact, it was around the same era you're talking about, too!). We talk about what that was like in the episode I did of @thebeetheberry podcast :)

I understand that you feel like you might have missed out on some things while your fixation was on 'hiatus' but I hope you don't let it bother you too much. I don't know what you were going through at the time of your hiatus, but I think taking a break from something (especially to focus on your own needs) is really good and healthy, and by doing that it makes the content all the more enjoyable if/when you do eventually decide to come back.

There were a good few years that I missed out on Sonic stuff, but now that I'm back I'm enjoying it more than I ever have! And thank you for following me then and now, it means a lot :)
