I am proud of who I am and where I come from.

The above mentioned sentences shouldn’t be controversial yet in this day and age they are ( at least where I live ). Even the slightest bit of positivity towards your own country makes you a fascist asshole who probably hates minorities or other countries. Apparently, not mentioning or not complaining about your country’s problems or flaws 24/7 means you are a regressive idiot who thinks they don’t exist. No, just no. Me saying something positive about my country doesn’t make me a fascist. It doesn’t mean I hate other countries or other people. It certainly doesn’t mean I am not aware of the problems people in my country face. I am quite aware of them. I mean, you would have to be dead to not be aware of them. It just means I don’t have the strength or the will to be negative 24/7. I just can’t do that. And it is 2017 yet the fact that you can love your own and not hate everyone else is still such a hard concept for some people to understand.
