When I see recordings from concerts of my favorite musicians made in the 90s and 00s - I feel so sad and offended that at that time, I either DID NOT EXIST, or I WAS A LITTLE CHILD!š¶š»šš
And the only thing I can be content with is watching archival videos. Then I think about how sad it is that humanity has not invented a time machineš„

People have this idea that Ozzyās stage persona was some harbinger of evil but if you really look at the lyrics of both Sabbath and his solo stuff thereās really more of a push against the evil rather than delighting in it.
(Because, ya know, Ozzy was Christian. Donāt know how so many people donāt know that. Not like the guy is only famously depicted wearing a cross necklace all the time or something.)
Like, the message in the song Black Sabbath isnāt about how cool and awesome this ritual is, itās about the singer literally praying to God for help to escape the demon the wicked cult was able to summon. Mr. Crowley isnāt idolizing Aleister Crowley and his occult practices, itās Ozzy basically saying āI wanna understand whatever the fuck your problem isā
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (the song) seems to be about how seeking bloody vengeance will only lead to negative outcomes, and Who Are You (on the same album) is pretty explicitly about worshipping false prophets.
The Wizard? Well thatās just a song about Gandalf. Oh, and how he scares off evil and brings smiles just by passing through. Because heās basically an angel.
This isnāt a post discounting Ozzy btw ā itās about embracing him for the messages he actually espoused. I think itās actually really important to acknowledge that he was a religious man who felt comfortable dabbling in dark and disturbing topics, without the fear that doing so would automatically send him to Hell. Theyāre just things that happen in the world, and itās natural to take interest in said topics, not sinful. There are Christians TO THIS DAY that act like just reading a book with demons in it is going to damn you for life. It wonāt. Itās okay. Ozzy taught us it was okay.

As a child, I saw Ozzy's videos a couple of times, which were shown on one of the famous music channels. The picture and image of Ozzy in these videos were in the best traditions of Osbourne. And all this did not cause me any fear, horror or panic then. On the contrary, I liked the vocals and outfit of the Dark Prince so much! After some time, having grown up, I began to listen to various genres of rock and, of course, Ozzy's music on a regular basis. And in addition to the fact that his charisma attracted me right away, I saw in him a very open, sincere, kind and good person. His eyes and smile always confirm thisšš¤š¦

R.I.P. Ozzy. Still doesn't seem quite real. But how wild is that of all the big rock bands of the 70's, Black fucking Sabbath was the one that went this long without the death of a original member?
