Took a few pictures of my girls in the new birthday sets this past week. Hard to believe it’s been nine years since the game came out! I can still remember struggling to finish the Vinyard races and hoping that someday I’d save up for one of those fancy new Fresian horses they’d just released. There’s been lots of changes to the game, but I must admit i absolutely adore the updated graphics, and the more realistic-looking horses. Here’s to even more years of magic and horses and the beautiful land of Jorvik!

Just chilling out at the Fort Pinta end of summer festival with Aurora! Got her some new boots the other day to fit her more casual, western-y style. The best part of this festival is absolutely the music, too bad we don’t have some kind of in-game radio we could use to listen to the songs more often!

Aurora had a lot of Star Coins saved up, so I splurged and got her one of the really cute Curly horses, so meet Cinnamon Spice! I really love the coloration on this horse, and I think he’s going to be a great friend for Aurora.

Well, the summer festival (or I guess, end of summer festival this year) is here, and I’ve pretty much done it all with my main account, so I brought out one of my alts for some beach fun! So, Aurora took her Pepita Pumpkinblossom out for a bit of fun in the water.

I rode the Red String trail a lot the last few weeks, looking for fun encounters. Somehow, fittingly, the one person I didn’t see the whole time (who I’d hoped to run into again this year) decided to show up on the very last day. Nice to see you again, Ydris, hope the writers do more with you in the future!

I know I haven’t posted much in ages (this year has been so very tiring, it’s been hard to do anything) but my favorite event, the Red String Trail is back and I actually took some pictures! Rose has gone blonde in the last few months (i wanted to differentiate her from Aurora more, and she was originally blonde when I created her anyway) and she and her newest horse SpotlightBlaze ran into Linda and Meteor on the trail!

Honeybee, aka “Beeble” Chincoteague Pony, Level 15

My sassy, sassy baby. The Chincoteagues are definitely my favorite of the ponies in the game, hands down. I love the animations, especially the idle animations (the ear wiggles are so cute) and Beeble here really scoots when she’s at max speed. I always kind of feel like she’s got an unspoken rivalry to all the bigger horses-- sure, they might be TALLER than her, but she’s determined enough that she’s going to put everything into trying to outpace them. Or just trip them up, that works too, she seems like the type that plays dirty. XD

Moonbow Clydesdale, Level 15

Moonbow was the first Clydesdale I bought and I love her to pieces, ngl. She’s a big, beautiful girl who’s always been excellent with the different races around Jorvik. Plus I can’t get enough of the heavy stomp sound they added to the rearing animation for the Clydesdales! 

Also, Moonbow was the first horse who ever won me a Championship, so I love her even more because of that!

Taking a small break from my usual D&D art to post a small warm-up sketch I did the other day. I’ve been playing Star Stable a lot lately and I just really, really love the updated models for the Soul Riders. Hopefully I can have time and motivation enough to draw more doodles of them soon, but for now here’s an attempt at Anne von Blyssen, after being rescued from Pandoria in the most recent story quests (and ready to get some well-deserved revenge after being stuck in crystal for like, what, two years in-universe?)

I was initially going to just leave it with pencil, but I noticed all of my pink-ish gel pens and decided to try playing with some colors a bit. They don’t come through quite as well as I’d like, but at least my scanner picked up the glitter in them for a change!

Can I just say that I really admire that you use the same tack for every one of your horses, cause Im the the kind of impulsive idiot where if a tack set doenst match exactly what I think my horses personality is, I'll go spend all my money on a new tack set just for that horse, to the point where each of my horses has their own unique tack set that they always wear, save for Holidays and special events XD

XD Aww, thanks! I do switch it up occasionally (and I won’t deny I’ve got quite a few sets of tack in my closet that get switched out from time to time) but for the most part I stick with the same set for most of my horses. I like it to match what I’m wearing, and I will occasionally swap out for a different outfit (my one account has gear specifically for championships, and I’m pretty fond of using one of the new cross-contry sets for training lately.) But I rarely have tack specifically for one horse.

My one Lusitano always has the same mane/tail decorations and leg wraps, and I have a clydesdale that always uses the same tack (because it matches his hair ribbons) but I usually stick to the same gear. XD

GuardianAngel aka “Edan” Lusitano, Level 15

I don’t often come up with nicknames for my horses that aren’t part of their in-game name, but Edan here is special. I got him in the early summer of 2018, shortly after a rather traumatic event in the D&D game I was part of. A character in the game that I really liked had gotten killed off and I was going through a bit of a grieving period, and one of my friends had jokingly named my horse in our Stardew Valley save after said character. So, I ended up naming the next horse I got in Star Stable after him as well.

As you may have noticed, I tend to stick with the same tack regardless of the horse I’m riding, but I’ve always used the halloween “mummy” bridle/tail decorations for Edan, along with the gold and white “mummy” legwraps too. It just fits his angelic theme so much better than anything else I have.

Dreamguardian Fresian (gen 2), Level 15

I may have many issues with the newer Fresian models, but Dreamguardian here was one of the first horses I managed to get up to level 15. He was always a pretty reliable horse back when I first got him, so I can’t really dislike him. And since at that point my home stable was Silverglade Manor, I figured it was only fitting to go back to our old stomping ground for some pictures.

Everdawn Halflinger, level 15

Everdawn here I rased via the phone app, and she was the main horse I rode while I was doing the Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur quests. I know the Halflingers aren’t the fanciest horses in the game but I have a huge soft spot for them. I always loved the animation of the tails when they jumped, and the manes and tails look so fluffy and thick.

Frostmane Brinicle, level 15

I bought Frostmane the first time the Brinicle was offered, back in 2018 I think? I do rather love the frozen mane “horn” this model has, even though it feels wrong to ride them around when it’s not winter anymore. Not a whole lot more to say about Frosty here, except that whatever the dev team’s been doing lately seems to have completely borked the mane and tail bown placement. XD
