whats edwin's relationship to his parents?

Edwin's parents are his dads, Papa Aziraphale and Daddy Crowley. Edwin was adopted by them when he was about 3 months old. Actually, Tess was the caseworker that advocated for them to be able to take Edwin home.

Here is a little peek into his first night with them:

This au is so nice and wonderful!

Do the kids have favourite holidays or maybe family traditions? How they celebrate holidays in the kindergarten?

This was the perfect question to answer for one of Miss Nurse’s favourite holidays to celebrate, which is Setsubun!

On this holiday, Miss Jenny and Miss Maxine, who are the newest teachers, Dress up as the Demons and get beans thrown at them as they chase the children—the Principal dresses as the Good Luck Goddess.

The kids have to wear their demon disguises (masks) that they made especially for the occasion.

Niko is the most scared of the Demons. Charles is scared, too, but narrowly avoids becoming Mr. Meltdown and manages to throw beans to protect his friend.

Crystal and Monty love the colourful demons who come to visit the school, and are delighted with watching all the excitement going down.

Thomas protects Edwin while half hiding behind him, and meanwhile despite his neutral expression, Edwin is quite terrified internally. He’s frozen in place by his anxiety. (Setsubun is so noisy!)

The children also sing the “bean throwing” song:

The demon arrives at school. Miss Maxine warned David and Simon to be on their best behaviour for the weeks leading up to Setsubun, as they have to banish badness from the school and let goodness in!

Did Charles ever fall into a lake perhaps during a school outing? Did Edwin hug him to keep him warm after that?

Or did Charles get lost after he had a fight with someone and Edwin talked with him to keep him company until they were found?

So far, nothing like that happened to Charles! But sometimes, just like any 4–year-old, Charles gets sad. Once, when Edwin noticed, he wanted to make his bestie feel loved and decided to make Charles a whole book all about Charles!

Charles couldn’t believe ten whole pages of nice things about himself.

Hi! This blog is adorable omg. Could you tell us a little bit about Edwin and Niko? What kinds of games do they like to play together, and what does their friendship look like?

Like Charles and Crystal, Edwin and Niko have sibling energy.

Edwin feels safe with Niko, who likes caring for her friends.

Niko is smart, and kind, and funny, and Edwin is really charmed by her. She is one of the few people who can pull a smile from Edwin.

This works both ways, too! Niko loves to spend time with Edwin and talk about all the things they love. Here she drew them picking flowers at the park for Miss Nurse.

They admire each other's talents. Niko is really good at jump rope and Edwin is really good at puzzles. Edwin enjoys teaching Niko how to solve puzzles and Niko loves trying to get Edwin to jump rope or to play skipping games with her (he rarely does, but he loves to watch her do it).

Sometimes they just sit together in silence, and it's nice and enjoyable for the two if them.

Ahhhh gosh everything is so cute but also so well thought through. I work at a preschool and as it is a bane of my existence I am wondering who is best and who is worst at managing germs?

Ooh! Thank you so much for the work that you do! Managing germs is such a chore! (Especially with it being respiratory illness season!) We hope that you and your class are staying as healthy as you can.

how does niko feel about miss maxine? if they know each other, that is

Good question!

Niko likes Miss Maxine. As the Principal of the school is Niko’s Baba, and Niko’s mummy has to work long hours sometimes, Niko often spends more time at the Kindergarten when all of her friends have gone home. She’ll even sit in on staff meetings—and her little ears are a sponge for everything they talk about.

One thing that Niko notices about Miss Maxine is the way that Miss Maxine seems to daydream a lot. Niko also likes to daydream. However. Niko can’t help but wonder if teachers should be allowed to daydream so much… her Baba sometimes gets cross about Miss Maxine not paying attention. (Baba never gets cross at Niko, though!)

Thomas, What is your opinion of each of your classmates? Who do you like best?

Thomas sat down and answered this question for a whole ten minutes. We’re proud of him.

Thomas thinks Charles is strong and cool, but sometimes he doesn’t understand why Charles gets cross with him. Charles and Thomas tend to vie for Edwin’s attention.

Here is Charles hopping off the pommel horse. He can do level three!! Thomas wants to try, too! Miss Jenny said Thomas can do level two. (Thomas has chonkier legs than Charles and it’s more difficult for him to jump quite has high.)

Thomas and Crystal don’t interact a lot. Thomas remembers when Crystal wouldn’t share the cupcakes (she licked them all).

Miss Nurse would tell us that Papu wasn’t there, but Thomas remembers differently and believes that Papu cried on Thomas’s behalf.

Papu, as you will notice, is never out of Thomas’s mind. He loves his Papu more than anything.

He doesn’t love getting chased by Monty.

Thomas doesn’t want to get trapped by Monty’s hug. He likes hugs from Papu and Niko, and wants to hug Edwin, but won’t do so without Edwin’s consent after a very funny incident that happened with Miss Nurse’s bellybutton. (We’ll have to tell you about it sometime.)

Thomas loves to move his body, and Niko practices jumping rope together. They can do ten jumps in a row!

But Thomas’s favourite person is Edwin. He wants so, so badly to be best friends with Edwin.

His favourite memory with Edwin is feeding meatballs to Meatball. (Meatball was coaxed into becoming Thomas’s cat—he used to live at the park.)

Thomas and Edwin have their hats and water bottles at the park to make sure they don’t overheat when playing.

Why doesn’t Edwin like dolls?

Such a good question. Let’s find out a bit about this.

First of all, Edwin was adopted when he was a small baby. His Daddy Crowley and Papa Azi love him very much and are Edwin’s world. They are strong advocates and believe in Infant and Child Mental Health.

Tess (short for Tristesse) is Edwin’s adoption agency caseworker and therapist. Edwin has to go see her sometimes for check-ins and to play. (Of note, Tess also just happens to be Thomas’s auntie!)

However, Tess asks Edwin all about his feelings. Edwin doesn’t like discussing this with her.

Her office has a wall with a lot of mirrors, and a very big closet. One session, Edwin decided that he would hide from Tess in the closet, so he didn’t have to talk to her.

Here was his plan:

You can see the closet, and Edwin jumping out to his waiting Papa and Daddy. They’re asking “where’s Edwin?” They have lots of love and hearts around them. Edwin is replying “surprise! Papa!” As he jumps out to their waiting embrace (and hopefully waiting car so they can go home). Tess is saying “bye” after the unsuccessful session.

Only….

When Edwin actually entered the closet….

It was so dark and Edwin was just SURE the dolls looked like him and his daddies. (Maybe Edwin was a little over-imaginative here.)

He did stay in the closet as long as he could and as far away as he could from those cursed dolls.

Eventually, Tess found him.

Here they are discussing Edwin when he was a baby.

And—luckily!—Papa and Daddy came back finally to get Edwin. They did take him for ice cream afterwards. Edwin got his normal orange Italian ice.
