“I’ve lived here awhile,” he said, “for about a year or two, when you’re as old as I am you tend to tread the same places again and again. There are only so many places worth seeing after all. I take it you would benefit from some education, of the town and of our kind.”
Emily offered an empathetic smile, trying to imagine being a vampire for as long as he’s implying. “Well, I hope the places you have frequented have been vast and beautiful. I would actually sincerely appreciate that favor,” she said, a little bit of surprise in her voice. Her only experience with vampires had been a negative one, that is, until she came here. The ones she’s met so far have been exceedingly helpful and she was both shocked and grateful for that. She gestured her hand to him, “Pardon my manners, my name is Emily.”

“Really!? I mean … we never had any growing up, but I don’t think my parents would have been against it. I mean they’re wonderful when it comes to teaching responsibilities! At least that’s my view on it. My children will probably have their own pet of some sorts each.” She shrugged knowing that would be a lot, but Anna would be that mother. “Oh? Who’s your friend with the dog!? I mean are they around here? I need to find them, because I loved everyone’s dog since I don’t have my own. Sometimes I want to ask Eric if I can just… have his dog for a few times, but I feel those two can’t really be separated.”
“Please, I mean no please. No one wants to know how someone was suffering. I just.. sometimes it’s easier and better to tell a stranger. They don’t have anything to hold against you, or anything to judge you on. You can be as real and raw as you would like to be. I also know letting everything out just kinda.. helps sometimes.” Anna beamed. “Really? Great! Because you’re kinda stuck now! So I hope you don’t mind friendships. This one comes with lots of chocolate, and other sweet treats.”
Emily chuckled, “You think about children already? Oh my friend? Oh dear he’s all the way back in Nebraska. A long way to go just to see a dog,” she smiled. “Who’s Eric?”
Emily couldn’t help but glance down at her ring as Anna talked. She twisted it on her finger out of habit when she got nervous before faking a small smile. “I um, well-- long story short, I was supposed to elope with this guy after graduation. I thought we were in love.. but he never showed.” Emily shrugged her shoulders and rubbed her arm. She wasn’t telling a total lie, but she definitely wasn’t telling the whole entire story. “As long as dark chocolate is involved then I couldn’t be happier,” she smiled.

“Ilvermorny school for the gifted.” Ana’s lie rolled off the tongue. It was a school for gifted students, just gifted in different ways.
The name of the school alone made Emily’s curiosity want to take over. However, the speed and nonchalantness of the girl’s answer, she decided not to question it further. “Ilvermorny,” she repeated, “well it sounds enchanting. Sorry again for disrupting you day, but I hope the rest of it is well. It was nice meeting you, my name is Emily by the way.”

Making a face at what she was stuck with she shook her head. “Nothing wrong with the classics, but I mean… you’re missing out on all the good stuff. How old are you? I mean once you’re eighteen you can sorta pave your own road. I know it’s just smal things like movies and music, but still!” She laughed shaking her head. Part of her wanted to roll her eyes as the other called her farm ‘charming’. Kayley was never ashamed of being the farm girl, but she knew it made her weird, and the outcast to most things. Though her thoughts changed hearing the other a smile tugged on her lips. “What really? I mean if you’re ever homesick, Sheild’s Farm isn’t too far from here and you can come visit some of the livestock.” Kayley nodded. “That’s what I need to do, get off the farm..”
Emily chuckled, “I’m nineteen actually even though I may seem like a grandma on the inside. My friends used to tell me I was an old soul... I just haven’t quite figured out if that was a good thing or not. I’ll have to learn to be hip again,” she joked. “Yes! Oh really? That’s so kind of you I would love to pay a visit soon! I kind of miss the smell of hay and the sound of horses running around all the time.” Emily smiled, “If I can do it you can do it! You have dreams of travel then?”

“This place sucks,” Carmella blurted out. “There are a few people that don’t but the list is very limited.” Carmella probably wouldn’t hate it as much if she was able to move back to Manhattan. Who was she kidding? She’d hate it all the same.
“Emily,” she nodded. It was a boring name but when did Carmella call people by their real names anyway? “Where are you from? Under a rock? Haven’t you heard of my blog? Suburban Hell?” She didn’t understand how people could be so far removed from pop culture.

Emily had decided that Carmella’s comment about the people here was more of an opinion than a fact. She’s only been in town for a few weeks, but still, most of the people she’s met so far have been very kind and very enjoyable.
Emily chuckled, “No, but close to it. I’m from Nebraska and my parents weren’t necessarily the most open-minded of people. So I’ve had a little bit more of a sheltered life than I would like to have had. I’m also just horrid when it comes to tech stuff. What’s the blog about? I would love to see it.”

James grabbed the last few apples he could find before he collided accidentally with the stranger “I’m sorry” he wrote “I should have been paying closer attention.”
With her new supernatural reflexes, Emily was able to quickly rescue one of the apples that had fallen from the boy’s arms as a result of their collision. “Oh no please, it was all my fault,” she said slowly, slightly thrown off by written words instead of spoken. She shook her head to get her back on track. “I um, think this belongs to you,” she said with a small smile before handing him the apple.

Jack stepped back and bowed, “I am Jack, Jack Skellington, Master of Fright, Demon of Light. The Pumpkin King by some. Mr. Unlucky by others. And who might you be?”
Emily smiled in surprise at the boy’s brilliant introduction, though she may not have understood some of it. Nonetheless, she faked a small curtsy in return. “You’ll make me sound silly now by my lack of presentation,” she chuckled, “Its a pleasure to meet you Jack Skellington. My name is Emily Festre.”

Elsa nodded, ready to be on her way, but she felt the need to help the girl. “I’ve lived here since I was very young, I can help you out.”
“Oh you have? That’s wonderful! Well, for me at least. Do you like it here? I was actually looking around for a library, but I don’t seem to be having much luck.”

Anastasia rolled her eyes. She knew that if she was trying to be nicer, she should try and help the girl out. “I’m a student at the boarding school near by.” She placed her hand out, a little annoyed. “Anastasia.”
Emily shook the girl’s hand with as genuine as a smile as she could muster up. “Boarding school, huh? That sounds interesting, but also a little bit tough. Well I hope you enjoy your time there. Can I ask the name of the school?” This girl could very well be perfectly human, but Emily was desperate to try and collect all the information she could about the wizarding school she had heard rumors about.

“Oh, I wouldn’t say you’ve disturbed anything just yet. You’re new in town, aren’t you?”
“Oh good then, I’m glad,” she half-smiled. “Yes actually, too new for my own good I suppose. And you... Have you lived here a while or are you in the same boat as I am?” She had a feeling it wasn’t the latter.

beenarealslice:
“Six months? Oh no, have you had anyone to help you?” she asked with a tilt of her head. Sure, she was hardly the poster child, but at least she was able to keep from acting like a lunatic when there was open blood by that point. It was hard, but she could manage it. Hades had been her teacher, though, and he wouldn’t have stood for less than the best. Or at least, that’s what Meg believed.
Meg nodded at her words. “Yeah, it was a mess, but it’s over now. I keep tabs on our kind now, not closely, but enough to recognise faces if something happens again. There’s not a ton of us, so that helps to notice when there’s a new person in town. The hunter nonsense is happening right now, though. They’re attacking students up the mountain at the school there and they’re infiltrating our world and there’s a rat among us and no one really knows who it is and I really hope that shit gets sorted soon,” she explained briefly. If she was going to stay, she needed to know what was going on. At her question, Meg shook her head. “No, it’s been….two years? Two and a half? Ish? I think.” The time moved a little differently now, she didn’t notice it as much, but she was pretty sure about the math. “I had a good teacher, though. Arguably the best.”
She nodded and went back to sipping her drink, happy to finish it if Emily didn’t want it. “Look, kid. I get that you don’t want this life, but honestly, neither did I. And here I am, happy as a clam. Denying yourself and your new nature is only going to hurt you and everyone around you. At least let me get you something fresh and we can talk about the next step because I know for damn sure you won’t be able to think properly if all you’re thinking about is food. We can worry about the club later. I think you’d actually benefit from dropping by during the day when there’s no one there to get the feel for the place and meet the big guy. His name’s Hades and he’s a grumpy old man. You don’t really want him helping you if this isn’t the life you want, he’s not an understanding fellow, but he’s the best one to get on the good side of.”
Emily shook her head at Meg’s question, “No, not a soul. You’re the first vampire that I’ve encountered since... I think.” She was taking in a ton of information right now, and she was having trouble keeping up with processing it all. However, there was a special bit of words that stood out to her. “Hold on, our world? The school up the mountain?” she repeated. Could this be the place she was looking for? “You wouldn’t happen to be talking about magic would you? And the wizarding school? I’ve heard rumors but I... well I had my doubts. Nonetheless that was my reason for coming here to Adamsville actually.”
“Two and half years? Wow.” To Emily, two years of being a vampire sounded like a lifetime. “I don’t mean to be rude by asking this but, well by the sound of it-- were you turned without consent?” She felt horrible thinking how many vampires out there might have been in the same position she was put in.
Emily felt much better once Meg had finished her drink. She was barely holding her fangs back as it was. She sighed and rubbed her arm, “I had a feeling you were going to say that,” she said, regarding the information about her denial. Emily wasn’t about to give in to her new hunger any time soon. But she knew that if she said that aloud she might lose this new resource. Instead she just accepted Meg’s offer, and would worry about the rest later. “Alright. So what’s the name of this mysterious club then?” she asked before listening to what she had to say. This wasn’t the life she wanted, so she made a mental note to cautious of this man, Hades.

shiningknight-kayley:
Kayley almost dropped her phone hearing her. “What really you have no idea what that is? I mean it’s a classic!” She laughed a little. “You’ll have to look it up later. And the movie, it’s worth the watch I think.” She said with a small shrug, resting her hands at her hips to keep her breathing under control. “What really? I mean no ones ever told me I could sing. So you’re the first.” She laughed a little. “I’m Kayley. Been here most of my life , my mother and I run the farm around here.” She smiled happily. “Oh, how new are you?” she questioned with a small laugh.
Emily laughed at the girl’s reaction. “I have an idea, just not a strong one,” she chuckled, “My parents were rather fond of sheltering me so instead of game nights and barbecues I grew up with Mozart and museums. But its alright, I grew rather fond of the old stuff,” she smiled. “Well it’s a pleasure to meet you, Kayley. Oh a farm, really? How charming! I’m from a small town in Nebraska originally so you could imagine the amount of farms that I was surrounded with. They’re a good time, and the animals are always great to see. Oh, I’ve only been here a few weeks actually. I’ve been, um apartment hunting,” she lied.

“I have a kitten, and well my kitten is pretty much my best friend. I might be getting myself a puppy soon. We’ll see how things go.” She shrugged with a grin. The idea was still playing in her mind on how safe she’d feel with one. Maybe it would even make Adam feel better knowing she had something like that for protection. Not to mention John would sleep better too. “Oh gosh, never watch it. It was honestly horrible! I can’t believe someone would want to make a cartoon like that. I just don’t understand.” She sighed shaking her head a little.
“Well I think strange is beautiful because it’s different. Can’t have everyone being cooking cutters, that’d just be boring right? The world needs people like ourselves.” As she watched the others face fall, Anna’s mind instantly went to the worst. “Did someone hurt you?” She asked softly. “If it’s a boy around here, my best friend kinda runs the idiots. he can beat them up. Not that I would want him too, maybe just scare them. I am so sorry… I mean your friendship is wanted with me.” She offered with a small smile across her features.
Emily’s eyes brightened and her lips curved into a smile at the mention of the animals. “You do? What good company! I’ve always wanted a cat myself but my parents were partial to keeping the house animal-free,” she shrugged. “A puppy would be absolutely darling. A friend of mine had such a gentleman of a dog and he was always wonderful to be around. Though I can’t really imagine almost any dog being a nuisance to share time with.”
Emily chuckled at Anna’s suggestion regarding the movie, “I’ll take your word for it. I suppose you’re right, that would be boring. We’ll just have to start a revolution then.” While Emily was finding herself surprised to be enjoying her time with Anna, her expression fell at the red-head’s question. “Oh no, it’s nonsense really. You don’t want to hear my tragic little story,” she half-smiled, “just your run of the mill break up sort of thing.” Emily couldn’t tell if her lie was convincing or not, but she just shook it off. She hated repeating the story for a multitude of different reasons. Plus, she didn’t think she was quite ready to bring up the whole walking dead thing. “You know what, I would very much enjoy your friendship,” she smiled, Emily hasn’t had a friend in a long while.

shiningknight-kayley:
Social activity for Kayley typically was just those that came through on her register, her animals, mother, and Arthur. Everyone else? It was just an awkward mess. Not that she didn’t give it a true though. Giving an innocent smile she shrugged a little. “I.. well.. Hi. Sorry. I mean it’s late at night, you can never be too careful right?” She smiled a little more trying to show her she was harmless. Unless your name was Morgana. “What? Nah you didn’t! Really it’s fine, huh? Oh.. Um.. “Eye Of The Tiger’, really just need to pump myself up sometimes for these runs.”
Emily smiled, “You are totally right about that.” And the girl absolutely was right. The last time Emily was alone at night in a deserted place she died... well, sort of. “Eye of the Tiger?” she repeated, “I think I’ve heard it in a movie once before. My parents were very keen on classical music so you can imagine my cluelessness right now,” she chuckled. “Either way you’re fairly good at carrying a tune. My name’s Emily. Do you uh, live around here? I’m fairly new and I’m kind of just wandering. Bad habit I know.”

“I already said I’m fine.” Ana’s niceness only could go so far, and she had no patience for repeat questions. “I ran into someone, of course I’m startled.”
“Right.” she said, taking note of the girl’s tone. Emily thought for a moment. The girl looked to be around her age. Maybe she could help her find out more about this place. “Sorry if I’m being nosy but, are you a student around here? My name is Emily by the way.”

Elsa had gone down to drop something off at the house in Adamsville for Anna. The redhead wasn’t at the house when she got there, but she had a lot of work to go do, especially with the situation with James. She was almost to a place where she could apparate back to the school when she felt a body hit hers. “Oh no, I’m fine. Are you alright?”
“Oh yes please, don’t mind me it was my fault after all,” she said before trying to collect herself and smoothing down her hair. “Sorry I didn’t mean to disturb your night. I wasn’t thinking straight and I’m sort of new around here so I don’t exactly know with perfect confidence where I’m going.”
