Saying the N-word Rant (TW: Slurs)
So yesterday I had seen a post about the n-word. It caught my attention because several of my (white) friends had shared it without any context. It didn’t give me very much insight on how they felt personally, but then again the post is pretty self explanatory.
Me being the person I am I decided to make my own simple post. (I know my language is a bit vulgar, but it’s the truth.)
I’m a realistic person. I believe people can say and do whatever they want because it is their life, but I also know that with certain actions come consequences. This isn’t the reason as to why I’m posting this rant though. I am posting this rant because someone I had grown up with, though we weren’t very close, had decided to comment and make a post about the use of the N-word.
His comment:
You see what’s wrong with this bullshit? Yeah, me too. There’s more…

Everytime I read this I get mad, since basically all he is saying is:
1.) I have a black boyfriend and I can do what ever I want
2.) Reverse racism is a thing
3.) The N-word is the norm and people are getting butthurt for no reason.
4.) I don’t know if it’s just me who see’s this even though it is not explicitly said, but when it came to the part about “ It’s RACIST to think you can bar a particular race or races from saying a particular word all because you believe it belongs only to your community. That is racism.” can also pertain to cultural appropriation.
1.) The whole “I have a black______” excuse is a load of bullshit. Just because your_________ doesn’t do anything doesn’t mean everyone else will follow in suit.
2.) Reverse Racism is not and will never be a thing.
3.) It’s not about being ‘butthurt’, It’s the fact that not only are you disrespecting your boyfriend and other black people, but you are flipping it around to make it seem like you are the victim.
It makes me cringe to think about a young caucasian male to call his boyfriend his “main nigga.” It so disrespectful and the fact that his boyfriend doesn’t care makes it much worse. The way he openly admits to using the word on a daily basis is disgusting and calling black people racist for not wanting others to use the n-word is just, it’s appalling. He thinks there’s no problem in saying since he’s not racist because it doesn’t affect him. Really though, it does effect him and it effects the people around him.
As I had mentioned before you can do and say what you want, as long as you are prepared for the consequences. Someone may talk to you about your opinion, maybe even argue and others may take a more physical approach. In the end don’t get 'butthurt’ when someone lays down facts and hurts your feelings. Don’t get 'butthurt’ when someone puts they hands on you and you end up on the internet looking dumb just like those other people who tried it.
