Hello everyone! This has been a very difficult decision to make but after considering schedules as well as the concerns of other members, I will be sadly ending Decadent’s run. 

Again, a big thank you for all the members who have participated in the third reboot of this precious roleplay. I’ve had so much fun with the gameplay as well as your avid participation in the events! It’s been a pleasure to serve as your admin, write along side you all and enjoy our time together. This certainly won’t be the end for me and you can reach me @palettrbls.

One day perhaps Decadent shall rejoin the dash again. Until then, I wish you all the best of luck and I do hope to roleplay with all of you in the future :)

CHAPTER FIVE ; THE BIG SCHEME

Late February and the unbelievable has happened. Four out of the five suspects have been found dead and only one survives - Bryant. However his whereabouts are missing. There’s high security for both Edwin and Christine Gaunt who are absolutely terrified. The MACUSA along with the Ministry of Magic are puzzled. While the investigations have heated up, the trail of clues are a mess. It isn’t long before they find the body of Bryant floating down a river. 

And you almost thought so too until you find yourself going pale.

There he stands, face to face you almost think you’re dreaming. But no, this isn’t a dream. It’s William Gaunt in the flesh, looking wicked and beyond disturbed. He’s chanting something and you know you have no choice but to act quickly.

THE ADMINS NOTE

This is the midpoint of Decadent’s story arc. It is confirmed that William Gaunt is alive; he’s faked his own death but the question remains: why?

This event will be timed and you are forewarned that your characters can be physically harmed so please be aware of that when you begin. (Make sure you have at least 10 - 20 minutes to sit down and finish the task.) i hope you don’t take this as me telling you how to run your roleplay or anything as you seem like a lovely admin and have created a wonderful world. that’s not my intention in the slightest, it just seems like you’re busy and two heads are always better than one when it comes to plot ideas and such. i’m sure whoever you asked to be your coadmin would understand the roleplay is first and foremost yours as well. just something to think about! 🙂

Of course, I’ll be keeping this in mind. If anything, I would only need help with maintenance and management since everything else within Decadent is so niche.

They say you’re like Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde but with intention. You’re a masterful liar and have even managed to convince yourself to believe in the lies you spout. Some say you’re mad and deserve nothing less than death. Your transgressions are numerous but the law can’t touch you when money is the judge. Often times, you laugh, the sinister grin pulling at both corners of your mouth with sickening disturbance. It’s a shame that someone so handsome could be so ugly too. But you are far from ashamed. You are deliriously amused by the disbelief and shock you can conjure just by being wicked. Even you wonder if you’re capable of being wholly human. 

THE NETWORK

ZEPHYRA LOVEGOOD (the prey): You had whispered cruel things into her ear and grinned at her fear. You loved watching her squirm as you taunted her. You’ve known about her talents and you have everything intention of exposing her as a fraud. She’s an emotional wreck and you ruthlessly point it out every time. But it seems like time has a powerful way of changing people. Last you saw her, she left you cold on the pavement and you were disgraced. You know you’ll be sure to repay her for her kindness with the same kind of gratitude. 

LYCUS SELWYN (the observation): You’ve known that he’s always been concerned with his own interests first and foremost. Though he never makes it a blatant sign that he intends a mutiny - you can smell it off his skin. You tread the fine line of enemy and ally, letting him guess where your stance is. Truthfully, you don’t know how you want to play your next move. But even if he ends up deciding to kill you, you won’t let it be so easy. You’re far more valuable alive than dead. 

GENEVIEVE WOOD (the frustration): You can’t get through her skull at all. Nothing you’ve done has bothered her and she’s made it a point that she’ll knock you out with her fists to shut you up. And yet you get up, again and again, refusing defeat. You’ll pinpoint her weakness and you’ll watch her scream for your mercy. Your pride has been bruised too many times and you’ve had enough. You’ll show her how much of a monster you really are with your teeth parted ready to bite. Even if you have to cheat, you’ll do it to secure your deluded ‘victory.’

DAHLIA GREENGRASS (the desire): No matter how fast she runs, you’ll always catch her. Something about her existence seems to remind you of the other things that you’re capable of. It disgusts you, it makes your skin crawl and you know its because of her. You know that without her reigning in the last of your senses, you’ll be dragged into the deep side with nothing left but your cruelty. She once said she loved you but now she’s climbed into the sheets of another and it makes your blood boil. You will get her back and she will be yours forever.

THE DESCRIPTION

You’ve always been the champion of individuality. You’ve always loved yourself more than any one else. Or perhaps those are the lies you’ve convinced yourself to believe in. You were the black sheep - the cursed. You remember people calling you names, screaming at you for your unintentional actions. They said you ruined everything you touched and destroyed anyone you loved. Perhaps that is the price you had to pay for your gifts. After all, with you by any ones side, you’re surely able to create a tidal wave of unimaginable change. But who can you trust anymore? The voices only want you for your abilities but they forget about the scared helpless beggar girl waiting for a home. 

THE NETWORK

KENSHIN SCAMMANDER (the savior): He had picked you up from the ruins and offered you a hand. When you believed the world to be corrupted and terrible, he proved it wrong. You’ve been in his debt ever since. You know that the longer you stay by his side, the more dangerous it could be and so, many times you’ve ran off on your own accord. You’ve reassured him several times that you’ve always taken care of yourself and this is nothing new. But a part of you yearns to stay by his side and enjoy the warmth of companionship. 

EVANDER LUPIN (the family friend): Your families were well acquainted with each other and you’ve known Evander’s family. Then the dark days arrived at both of your doorsteps. Your family was able to survive but his, his was destroyed. Though he never blames you for it you know he may bare an unspoken grudge. If you could, you would turn back the clock and fix it all for him. But everything comes at a price and you aren’t sure if you’re willing to sacrifice what little you have left.   

KLAUS GRAVES (the nightmare): You hate him with all your being. You’ve witnessed his maniacal methods first hand and you know that a part of his soul has long been ripped away from the sun. You won’t help him - you have no pity for creatures like him. There have been many occasions where you’ve had to dealt with him, wielding your wand in one hand and your fist in the other. While you had been timid at first, you were quick to learn to not hesitate. He made you suffer and you’d punish him all the same. He deserves nothing less than the cruelty he creates. 

LEON ZABINI (the comfort): He accepted you with no questions. He took you in his arms and brushed your hair. And for the first time in months, you were able to peacefully fall asleep. You know it takes a great deal of love for someone to be so pure and good. Despite his many attempts to reach out toward you more and more, you’ve pushed him away for his own good. Although he may think you don’t trust him - it couldn’t be farther from the truth. You know he’s a good man who deserves to survive, spared of devastation. And by being in your company, you know you can’t guarantee his safety.

CHAPTER FOUR ; VISITS FROM A FORTUNE TELLER

Mid February and while some have forgotten about the death of William Gaunt, many others are still sombre over it. It seems like there are even more hostile attitudes between those of different bloods. The weather has been rather awful as well with the constant showers and gloom. Some say it’s a reaction of the grim events that have occurred so far.

But they say that a new little wonder has appeared in town to give some excitement toward many of the downtrodden. Her name is Magdalena Trelawney, a renown fortune teller. While some say her fortunes are nothing more than nonsense, others believe it like a religion. However regardless, it’s said that she’s generous of heart. And so, many have decided to spin their luck with her! After all, what does one have to lose besides a few galleons?

They say Zephyra Lovegood and Klaus Graves have been spotted. 

THE ADMINS NOTE

A casual event to balance out the chaos! A little bit of a breather for all the characters to digest and process the information of the most recent events that have occurred!

The way in which this event will work will rely on the DISCORD BOT. Please make sure to slide into the roll channel.

If you wish to participate, please @the admin (emma on the group) so I can denote the results of the numbers you’ve made. You will be rolling twice and the numbers shall be added up and it’ll reveal what you’ve won (well your character)!

You may have your characters discuss the aftermath of what they’ve received and so forth. Feel free to start threads whether you believe in such a fortune teller.
