A rather new oc who I'm still developing. He's not plot relevant by the time of fma canon, but he has an important role at the beginning of Casther’s story! Gerel is Casther's mentor/father figure and is the reason why Casther settled in Briggs and found belonging there.

Gerel is a great fighter, devoted soldier and remains a kind soul. During his time at Briggs he was a Captain. With his skills, he easily could've climbed the career ladder, but he decided against it because his motivation was to protect Briggs, not to gain influence. It was a promise he gave his love, who also was a soldier in Briggs. She passed after a Drachman attack.

Francis Stetson

Olivier’s predecessor, former Briggs General. To keep it short: He's a useless bastard. Stetson got his position because of a corrupted system, but he got sent to Briggs because he's so useless. Being close to his retirement, he completely stopped caring about leading the Fort, leaving it up to the other commanders to keep everything running. During that time, Briggs was doing horribly, everything falling apart, and constant Drachman attacks costing soldier's lives left and right. Stetson cared little tho and made Jung do most of the work. When he was about to retire, he named Olivier as his successor. His reasons were just as horrible as the rest of his character, tho.

Bernard and Cylia Beauxclaire

Val's parents. They're homophobic and horrible parents! That's all you need to know, really. Especially Bernard is emotionally abusive and has been belittling and critizing Val ever since he was a child. Cylia, on the other hand, is emotionally unavailable and devoid of all care for her children. Both parents have high expectations for Val, which he could never reach.

Bernard is a politician also and works in the corrupt government, helping to uphold the illusion of the parliament. He's a loud supporter of King Bradley, and while he doesn't know about the immortality plans, Bernard would LOVE them.

Angeline "Ann" Beauxclaire

Val's little sister! Her and Val have a close relationship and can lean on each other (unlike their parents). Ann is a lawyer who helps those who can't afford good legal help. Something she can do because since she became the Beauxclaire heir after Val was disowned for being gay, oops. Ann is very supportive of him and Casther, tho.

Milo Wilk

Casther‘s little brother. He was turned into a chimera as well, at the same time as Casther. Let's day things didn't go well :))

Mort

Also a chimera, she's part magpie! Mort was transmuted in the same lab as Casther and Milo, which is how Casther and her met. Both stayed friends after and Mort helps Casther navigate the confusing time after being turned into a chimera and [redacted].

By the way, none of them were turned into chineras by the military! All of this happened years before the military started making chimeras in Ishval. They're still connected, tho ;)

William Thorne

He‘s not very relevant aside from one arc, but he was Val‘s alternative love interest when him and Casther went through a difficult patch. They weren’t a couple back then and it’s NOT a love triangle. But Will helped Val realize that he loves Casther and wants to return to him. Will is a therapist in Central City and he‘s generally really a good guy! But he doesn’t have much more to do fjdkdj sorry, Will

Buckle up though because I have many pics and more to say about then than Winry about automails. This is just a summary of the most important plot parts. Please tell me if you want any details!

A quick heads up: Most ocs are/were located around Fort Briggs, and a lot of their story happens before fma canon!

Casther Wilk

Casther (35 during Promised Day) is a Captain at Briggs and wolf chimera. He's the head of the attack department and is in charge of training soldiers, leading patrols, and sometimes going on special missions onto Drachman territory. Drachmans fear him as "the wolf of Briggs", but they're not aware that he's a chimera. They just gave him the nickname because he's very deadly and because of his appearance.

Since Casther is part wolf, he has special abilities such as heightened senses and instincts that help him in a fight (e. g. evading or blocking attacks in a fight). Unlike other chimeras, he doesn't have a chimera form he can transform into, which makes his wolf features always on full display. He can get overtaken by the wolf, and his senses can overload, causing him to freeze up and be unable to fight. Because of that, he fights with knives and fists only since guns hurt his ears too much. Casther has an automail on his left arm due to a bear attack where he protected Thea years ago.

Casther is in a "secret" relationship with Val. He's gay af and the biggest simp on earth. He knows Olivier since he was a teenager, and she was the one who dragged him to Briggs against his will (it's complicated djfjejd). In the end, he just stayed there and found a new home and family in Briggs. Now, he has the pleasure of leading the most chaotic but strong squad, lol.

Overall, Casther is a very goofy, non-chalant, and extroverted guy who loves not to take things too seriously. Which is a strong contrast to Olivier and the other commanders, lmao

Val Beauxclaire

(full name: Percival Jean-Pierre Gaspard Beauxclaire)

Val (36 during PD) is the head doctor at Fort Briggs and responsible for making sure these imbeciles don't die. He's a but moody and grumpy and will put the fear of god into anyone who's being reckless with their health, but he CARES A LOT and has a big heart. Especially for people he careless about!

Val comes from a very wealthy family, the Beauxclaire's, who are the equivalent to the Armstrong family. Just like the Armstrong's they're very influential, and both families have been rivals for generations. Because of that, Val and Olivier have known each other since childhood, and their parents always planned for them to marry some day. Olivier, however, is gay and so is Val. He didn't know that back then, tho, which is why Olivier dragged him to Briggs.

Just like Casther, Val never wanted to go to the military (especially as a doctor) or to Briggs, but circumstances happened, and then he stayed because he too found a home and family in Briggs. He's disowned now, but he has a loving partner (Casther) and an adoptive daughter (Thea)!

Btw, Val has a resting bitch face, but he gets pestered by Neil and Patricia (the Briggs doctors) 24/7. Just don't EVER drink the last cup of coffee or he might actually kill you. Trust me. Even Olivier is scared of an angry Val.

Theodora "Thea" Salin

Thea (19 during PD) is the adoptive daughter of Casther and Val. Casther picked her up on Drachman territory when he was on a mission to retrieve an alchemical weapon. As it turns out: Thea is supposed to be a weapon! To keep an eye on her, she was kept at Briggs. A 9 year old at a military Fort, what could go wrong, right?

As she grew up, she came into Casther‘s care, who became her mentor and father figure, along with Val. He was the one who teached her to fight, and as Thea got older, she started to help around the Fort more and more. When she was 13, she went on her first special mission with Casther. What was supposed to be a fun outing ended in a disaster: A bear attacked her, giving Thea her face scars and causing Casther to lose his arm.

Thea has an unfinished transmutation circle on her stomach, a "gift" from her dead mom. What sounds cruel was a desperate try to protect her, but a lot of people have an eye on Thea and want to use the alchemy her mother passed on to her.

While Briggs is her home and CasVal are great fathers, she does feel like something is missing and like there's more out there. Good thing her biological father is a determined force of nature, who's almost impossible to kill! I wonder who it is! /coughs/

Thea goes after her two dads, she has an uplifting nature, loves being a little shit, but she's devoted to her family and is willing to work hard. Just be careful and respectful. She WILL punch a grown man.

After Promised Day, Thea stays in Central City and eventually gains a state alchemist license, making her "the Soul alchemist".

Helen Salin

Helen (dead for 10 years during PD dkfjj) is/was a state alchemist at Fort Briggs. The Venus alchemist is the first female alchemist of Amestris and had the "pleasure" of being sent to the end of Amestris! For Helen, it didn't matter much, though, since she just wanted to live for alchemy and have the opportunity to research her theory: Soul alchemy!

Back then, it was nothing but a concept, Helen got her state alchemist license due to her amazing basic alchemy knowledge. She is also a decent fighter, but she's more brain than brawl. At Briggs, Helen was famous for disrespecting the Fort's General and his orders (this was before Olivier became Briggs' leader).

On patrol, Drachman's attacked and abducted Helen. They had heard about her alchemy and saw an opportunity in it to win the upper hand on Amestris. What no one knew: Helen was pregnant with a child.

For years, Helen was forced to live in Drachma with no way to escape. In her captivity, she delivered and raised Thea and worked on her life's work, her soul alchemy. All that time, she hoped that Briggs, more importantly the father of her child, would come to save her. In the end, Briggs did come, along with King Bradley. The homunculi found out about her soul alchemy and saw a threat in it.

About Helen’s personality: She's CHAOTIC. Literally hilarious but also kind, smart and gorgeous. She was kidnapped way before Ishval happened, which is a shame because she would've personally picked a fight with King Bradley about it.

Matthias Jung

Matthias Jung (most of the time, I just refer to him as "Jung", this just established itself somehow sbfjfj) was a Colonel at Fort Briggs (31 years old back then). He was supposed to be my villain oc, but he ended up with too much depth lmao. A lot happens to him, so I'll stick to the main parts.

About his person: He's a man with ambition, a natural born leader with tons of charisma. He knows how to read people, and he's a great manipulator if he wants to. Jung has a tendency to be arrogant, but he's not a merciless commander. But also: He's not funny. At all.

Briggs: Jung was a Colonel at Briggs before Olivier became its leader. He was a reliable commander, respected by people at Briggs, and many said that he had the best chances of getting Briggs' command. However, things started to bet south when the resident state alchemist got kidnapped by Drachma..

Jung and Helen always were drawn to one another, but they never planned to act on it. When they did, they were a passionate flame that quickly burned down. Just a few weeks before Helen got kidnapped, she told him that she was pregnant. Once she got taken away, Jung did EVERYTHING to try and get her back, but the commanding General forbid any attempts at searching Helen. Jung still found his ways, but... they were what let to his downfall.

After Helen’s disappearance, Jung fully set on becoming General, also to get the means to look for her. To do so, he ended up cooperating with Ulya Pashkova, a Drachman who was the wife of an important military General. For years, he worked himself into the ground to become Briggs leader. We all know who got that position in the end, tho: Olivier Armstrong.

After learning that he wouldn't be the next Briggs' commander, Jung snapped and started a coup. It would've worked out if it hadn't been for Casther. Jung's plan failed, and he was supposed to be court martialed and killed for treason in Central City. On his transport there, an unexpected ally freed him.

Time in Drachma: After being framed a traitor to Amestris, Jung ends up working for the Drachman military for Ulya Pashkova. T wasn't an easy choice for him, but the only possibility to still find Helen and his child. For 10 years, he worked himself into the ground and closer to his own derangement. At some point, he did find Helen, but way too late. Finding her dead body and learning that Briggs had taken his child, he starts to plan for revenge. All of this ends in Jung leading an invasion to Briggs, and it ALMOST worked. He does get to finally meet his child, tho. After 15 goddamn years.

Prison: After his failed invasion and being a damn traitor to Amestris, Jung should've gotten killed from tho. To cut to the point: He doesn't die! Instead, he gets sent to prison where he has to live with the biggest punishment on earth: having Kimblee as his cell neighbor.

There's a lot more, but that's enough Jung info, so I'll just say this: He gets the chance for a redemption arc by working as General for Fuhrer Grumman. If you're thinking "huh? Wtf??" hmu and I'll explain everything ldjfjgj I SWEAR it's not a cheesy and stupid redemption arc, it makes SENSE and he has to work VERY hard for it lmao

Btw: Olivier and Jung, for obvious reasons, HATE each other and it's quite amusing to see them interact. Aside from all the drama

Richard "Richie" Vince

Richie (27??? during PD) is the local sniper and unhinged weasel. He loves everything that has to do with guns and explosives, but he WILL be disrespectful to superior officers. The only people he respects in the Fort are Val and Olivier (because Richie is scared of lesbians). He's part of Casther’s squad and WILL cause trouble. Yet he will be reliable when it counts, and he secretly cares. Just not for Casther, lol

Aside from being a weasel (metaphorically) Richie also actually is Drachman. He was a Drachman hitman once, but deserted once he realized ppl at Briggs are more fun and actually see him as a human being and not a human weapon.

(Adrian) Brooks (they/them)

Brooks (27?? during PD? Idkk) is the local gentle giant. They never wanted to be in the military but had little choice. Luckily, they get to build stuff now and don't have to fight all the time.

Also, Brooks and Richie are impossible to separate. They're gentle giant + mean little runt. They're "they asked for no pickles". Brooks is Richie's better half, but don't be fooled: They can also be a little shit!

Regarding Thea, Richie and Brooks kind of are like big siblings because they will tease her, but they're also very protective when if matters.

Silas Pedrosa

Silas (33 during PD??) is a tactical genius and a pacifist. How does that work? Silas always tries to solve an issue without violence, but when a fight is inevitable (which is the cade when a big state like Drachma simply wants to INVADE YOU), he always tries to go the route that will cost the least lives.

Aside from that, he's also Casther’s right hand and best friend. When they were younger, they always used to pull harmless pranks and they're still the reason for multiple shenanigans happening at the Fort. Oh! Silas also is trans! He's just a chill guy who gets along with everyone he meets. Also, him and Val run the Fort's gossip club.

Ulya Pashkova

Evil lesbian. That's it!

Okay, I'm kidding (I'm not, it'sthe best way to describe her). Ulya used to be a secretary for an important Drachman military General, who also was her husband. Said General was so successful because of his strategies that were one of a kind and gave Drachman many good victories. What no one knew: Those plans weren't his, but Ulya's. She's insanely smart, a true mastermind. However, her husband always took the credit for it. On top of that, he was an abusive piece of crap.

Ulya is ruthless. If Jung’s morals are ambiguous, she has none. All she cares for is herself, and she will do everything to get what she wants. You can probably imagine that she didn't put up with her husband forever. Once she had a plan, she disposed of him and took his position. With saving Jung’s life and effectively making him depend on her (because he he couldn't return to Amestris because he had to find Helen), she had the perfect pawn to do her bidding.

A design detail: Ulya is always smiling, but NEVER with her eyes.

Irina Trukin

Evil lesbian no. 2!

Irina is a tank in person. She's the female and Drachman equivalent to Buccaneer, just more bloodthirsty. She cares for nothing and no one but Ulya. For years, she worked for Ulya's husband, only sticking around because of her. Eventually, they took their chance, and now they're a feared duo. Irina is Ulya's bloodhound, who will crush everyone who gets in her way.

Irina is a tank in person. She's the female and Drachman equivalent to Buccaneer, just more bloodthirsty. She cares for nothing and no one but Ulya. For years, she worked for Ulya's husband, only sticking around because of her. Eventually, they took their chance, and now they're a feared duo. Irina is Ulya's bloodhound, who will crush everyone who gets in her way.
