How do you make your animatics? :0

Like, are there any techniques you use to make your animatics and storyboards so expressive and fun? The way they move reminds me of Shandzii in a way :]

I'm not sure how helpful this is, but I think a big portion of my creative process in terms of movement and expression comes from daydreaming! In my head, I'm not held back by my own skill level or motivation, so it can look exactly as extravagant and expressive as I want.

I usually spend upwards of a week just relistening to the song/dialogue I'm interested in using and watching it in my head, sort of "directing" the composition and character movement in my mind until it looks good and I have a specific vision for everything. I build it all out in my head first, so there's zero limits, before I ever pick up a pen and start drawing

If I don't marry myself to the perfect daydream version of an animatic in my head, then I'll subconsciously end up making a simpler, easier to draw version, and it'll overall end up looking a lot flatter and more boring

hi! i bought your anthology a few days ago and it has stayed on my mind ever since. the exclusive comic especially has left me feeling emotions i don't quite have the words to describe, and i wanted to reach out to thank you for making it (& the rest of the anthology) because of how it managed to affect me

AHHHH THANK YOU… im glad people seemed to enjoy the exclusive one, since it very outwardly deals with more sensitive subjects i figured that if it was Released to The Public people might find ways to be weird about it or not take it seriously… so i feel kind of bad for having it be paywalled, but also its ok because the story isn’t for everyone in the first place. the kind of story where only true kriselleheads will pay $10 and trudge through 130 pages of pre-existing goomywork just to read it (or you can read the solo comic pdf instead…) i will keep drawing forever!

this is a callback to a post you made a while ago ab langdon sabotaging mel’s fellowships apps because i can’t get it out of my mindddd.

because mel at the end of the day when it comes to her career is a goody two shoes, when applying she ofc waived her rights to see what the letters or rec say, so when it comes time for langdon to write his, it’s full of things saying she’s not that good of a doctor and he can’t in good will fully recommend her because while she’s not a terrible doctor she still has a lot to learn.

Afterwards when decision emails go out and hers says “rejected” she’s upset and crying not understanding what went wrong and he’s there not-so-coincidentally to dry her tears and kiss her face while telling her that she did nothing wrong, and they have no idea what they’re missing out on. (he knows full well he’s the reason but he can’t risk her not be by his side 24/7 and leaving for a different hospital because what if her feelings change??? so he truly feels nothing but a sense of accomplishment with this. ofc he hates to see the woman he loves cry but he knows that after he’s taken her out to a nice dinner and fucks her until she forgets everything but his name, she’ll be just peachy)
