Do we really think it was pure coincidence Meta Knight stopped exploring the Forgotten Land right before reaching Winter Horns, and Kirby just happened to go there and find Dedede at first try right after meeting him?

No. No. He did find Dedede and he did fight him.

Take the exhaustion and confussion he surely had to feel, exploring the forgotten land all lost and alone and desperate to find any loved one he tragically lost after the tragedy the portals on Dream Land caused. There's some unknonw omnipresent entity echoing and piercing through your mind, and you barely manage to escape from its control by pure crude determination of not getting turned into a killing machine again and be a hero just for once.

There's this cold place he had been avoiding for a while due to its hostile winter restricting his ability to fly and just being extremely hard to explore overall. But he had a feeling. He knew there was something in there. Now. You're the king himself, if you even remember that tittle. Luckily you do remember you're pretty good at fighting; and withstanding the cold, as if your own species had a deep coevolution with the snow you're standing on right now. Those little squeaky orange creatures? Not a threat. Just put them inside a cage and there's nothing else they can do. That blue metallic demon with the sword? He's very strong and fast yes, and wouldn't stop yelling a name that's not yours anymore. Nothing a few squashes from your hammer wouldn't solve. It never had a chance.

what if we make it worse what if meta knight had to fight dedede in winter horns in order to protect dedede's waddle dees cause he knows he's possessed. like what if we make this penguin feel really really guilty

Putting aside Meta Knight falling in the toilet (thank you tumblr user metaknightspiss) this is something I think about very frequently.

Dedede growing up with a constant feeling of alienation, and it would simply intensify by the fact nothing is made for his nonstoping increasing size. Every time he had to struggle to pass on a doorframe, every time he accidentally broke something with his big hands… everything was a reminder he doesn't belong here.

Once he became king he could finally get proper accommodations. King size bed, king sized doors, king size tools, a king sized royal toilet… but that was a rough childhood.

need more people the explore the fact that most things and places in dream land are probably not made for dedede, like doorways and beds. and that he has his own things that are sized for him in his own room

so his room is gigantic to everyone else except him. if they want to get on the bed they probably have to climb or jump onto it. same with a couch or a chair

All this to say. meta knight falls into the toilet

I am!! It just that it got a liiitle delayed bc of two things:

Myself. Honestly. Hate to bring the same excuses over and over again, but combining a hard uni career with an adult life and unmedicated adhd makes it impossible to properly manage time 😓 specially since I aim big for this event and want everything to be perfect before posting anything.

Been on the dilemma if 3 months was the best decision for the release of the prompts. Last year had significantly less people than its previous mtdd week, and even less numbers than the surveys asking for interest and dates. While there are other factors, it worries me people could have forgotten abt the event at all thanks to the huge time gap. There's also artfight happening this entire month, and it can become overwhelming to announce another event.

BUT

This event is still happening, and over my dead body will it get cancelled. Just some technical difficulties. Might assemble a little mod team for next year so this wouldn't happen again.

OK HEAR ME OUT ON THIS (I got inspired eheheh)

Events from the early games stay mostly the same. Meta tried his coup against Dream Land and failed. He considers the king his sworn enemy, though his hatred is mostly one sided as Dedede barely realized his former knight he fired some time ago tried to take over the kingdom. Still, he ordered to bring the knight to his castle. Alive.

Meta is alone, imprisoned, restrained, and ready to be taken on a friendly interview with the King of Dream Land himself. His blood runs cold. He's ready for the worst.

They finally meet each other. And oh Nova gracious turns out the Waddle Dees meant literally by 'friendly interview'. Dedede sits with him and asks for his day, compliments his bruised and dented armor, offers a fine dish...

Skeptical. Meta gives very small talk, and only eats after Dedede tried the same food first. Where is the trick on this? Until Dedede finally drops the bomb and shows a ring...

Meta wishes to simply be taken out of this torture by a hammer blow on his head.

Understanding his extreme horror, Dedede then explains. Yes, he's proposing with the man who tried to take over him, and on their first date? How messed up! But he recognizes Meta has skills, and leadership. He's also aware his job as a king hasn't been the best. He was right. He's perfect.

Meta thinks it's the stupidest idea he has ever heard on his life. But... it doesn't sound that bad? Sure he hates the idea of being engaged, specially with the king, but he's going to get to be a king himself, and Dedede will provide him with all privileges and funding he needs as long as he stays, letting him do anything and respect all boundaries he wants to stablish.

Both wouldn't act on each other as a couple at all, but living together and sharing routines does something little by little... Perhaps he would learn Dedede wasn't as bad and ugly as he thought, and their ideas actually go well together, and the kingdom is happy!

Who knows where will that lead. But this was the (super awkward and messed up honestly) start of a relationship that lately bloomed into what it is today :]

feel free to add more ideas. I simply got inspired with this one and wanted to write it down before I forget. Should I try to write it? Could be a fun oneshot but idk take this rough concept for now
