So I went to work yesterday and packed up some of the shipping. The rest, aka Starry Night and Velvet Underground, will start going in the dye pots tonight. Stinker Bell’s expression while crammed into the tiny cat cave pretty much sums up how I feel about leaving the house and going to work. I don’t want to but I have to. Although technically Stinky doesn’t have to cram herself into that tiny space. How do you dry fiber when 2 curious kittens think they’re really big helpers? I’m using the show displays today and tomorrow and until Monday when the little cuddle bugs fly the coop to their new home 🥰 Ps. Off to the studio to dye fiber and yarns. If you have been on the website lately there are no fibers available because everything sold out! Expect a fiber update tomorrow when everything is dry. There might be a few new colors and yarn inventories to be updated tonight as well! Now that all the fuzz butts are almost gone, it’s time to dye and dry. Took a bit of a hiatus because everything had to be kitten proofed and that time is coming to an end. Once my she shed/workshop is cleaned out, I totally plan to do kittens again! Well, look who is still here! There were a couple of life circumstances come up and now Serious Black and Little Red need homes. They are both very ‘helpful’ and love attention. Little Red loves to play and is actually a girl!!! She’s a sweet cuddle bug when not in full on kitten play mode and has the biggest purr 😻 Serious Black is all boy and all go. When he isn’t full of kitten rambunctiousness, Serious loves to be with you! He is always underfoot or on your foot and is going to make a great cat one day. Oh he also sometimes growls at his toys. Sweet Ethel is out on a weekend trial with a fabulous local knitter and spinner. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for her! It is time to start unpacking the yarns and make my studio look a tad more like the yarn Nirvana it should be instead of the kitten play ground it became. Plus I have some back orders to ship once everything is unpacked and back to where it lives. You don’t get to go to the festival this weekend. And you don’t get to go to the festival this weekend. No to you. Absolutely not. Cute but NO. NOPE! NOPE! NOPE!!! Tomorrow the racks will be loaded into the trailer to head to the Hoosier Hills Fiber Festival. Luckily this little rascal only got into a small amount of yarn. Even luckier for me they are past 8 weeks old so.... next week they need to go to their new homes. Will I miss them. Absolutely. Will I be glad they aren’t in the studio anymore. ABSOLUTELY😂. Momma Ethel still needs a new home. She sweet. She’s delightful. She loves being loved on. Outside of kittens, gardening has been on the list of things to do in the past few weeks. It’s a smidgen late to start the garden, but I have really missed working in the fort for the past few years because my life was in limbo first from a divorce and then from moving into my home. This is the pond I did last year finally full of plants. Fluffy and friend are in love with their space! The video was taken several weeks ago as things were being moved around , so the water is now clear as a bell 🔔 In garden news... basil, lavender, dill, tomatoes, potatoes, thyme, carrots, beets, garlic chives, kale, and wildflowers are currently growing in or around the raised beds. On the agenda next week... 3 more raised beds by the fence for popcorn, okra, and I don’t know what else. And maybe teaching myself to weld. I’m researching fencing repairs for the future. At some point the wobbly fence needs to come down so the posts can be either reset or replaced depending on the damage. The planks all seem to be in decent shape so that’s a positive! And I’m hoping to do this myself. This weekend is the @hoosierhillsfiberfestival and I’m dying up a storm of fresh Yarns and fibers. So I went out yesterday and it was pretty epic! Started with spinning some yarn while listening to some bluegrass music, progressed to dinner and live music, then axe throwing with old and new friends, gay bars, a drag show, and whatever was happening at White Castle on my way home! Seriously epic day and Night! Oh and let’s just say you want me in your zombie apocalypse team for more reasons than my spinning and knitting skills. The herd of hell spawn had 5 days of unsupervised freedom in the studio. Now that the trailer is unloaded that’s coming to an end and they are back to the bathroom. That wasn’t my wisest decision, but the good stuff was locked up safe and sound in the trailer and they needed some freedom. And no one died. Ethel needs a home as I haven’t heard from her tentative home in a while. the light mackerel ginger kitten I call the mouth is unspoken for as well. He’s always been independent and made his opinions clear from the start. Everyone else (little red, Meyer, Sirius black, Zoom, and Windsor) has been claimed. Just one little talker needing a home.
