These are all just rocks, nature does weird things all the time like growing tree branches with 90° angles, causing certain weird roads to appear to defy gravity and making random rocks look exactly like an ancient ruler who's tomb collapsed in on me and nearly killed me and two people I care a whole deal about!!!!

I'm trapped, unhook one hand from my shirt, then go for the other one and the first hand is already back to digging their little claws in. Before you suggest the obvious, no I am not waking them, they barely get enough sleep as it is and they probably won't drop off again for another few hours.

Making a flashy entrance is kinda our thing here at IR, not Kayo though. You won't even know she's arrived until it's too late and you're suddenly on the floor with a growing bruise across your face. Nah, Kayo is all about flashy exists, wandering away all nonchalant from the evil villain lair that just so happened to burst into flames, rocketing Shadow up through the clouds and vanishing without a trace.

Aw yeah, I remember this guy. Such a polite little gentleman, can't say the same about Abraham though. He scratched the hell outta my arms, I'm surprised he didn't actually tear through my suit, I had great big long marks all down my arms for a week.

What’s the most interesting animal you’ve ever met on a rescue? (Guessing it’ll probably be a sea one but doesn’t HAVE to be if like a leopard turned up while you were all clearing up after an earthquake or something!!)

I once came face to face with an anteater. There were warnings of a landslide and the only affected area was a zoo at the bottom of a mountain so of course we were sent to help evacuate all of the animals.

The larger more dangerous creatures were sedated by the caretakers and placed in transportation carriers and Virgil and Scott went backwards and forwards moving them to the designated safe zone. The smaller and less dangerous ones were a little more tricky, there was a limited supply of sedatives and the zoo staff needed to keep some handy incase one of the larger animals woke up later on and became aggressive sooo we basically had to go into all the enclosures and grab the poor lil guys ourselves.

I saw and held a load of animals that day, some frogs, snakes, tropical birds, a couple of penguins and a seal to name a few but the anteater was definitely the weirdest one. His name was Charles and he had two roommates Fiona and Abraham.

Where's your favourite place to go on holiday?

Ho boy, it's sure been a while since I've had one of those.😅

I usually prefer a staycation. Everything I need is already here, my own bed, my own pool, my own beach. Don't have to worry about packing or dragging around luggage or making reservations or getting homesick. My family is right here so I can see them whenever I want but I can also just disappear off to the beach or up the rocky peak if I need some space.

Home is my ideal vacay spot but I'm betting that you're probably after a different answer soooo... Probably our good old fashioned American coastline, somewhere like California with tons of beaches to explore. Some more touristy with boardwalks and attractions and lots of locals to mingle with and some more secluded and chill where you can catch a few waves and just sit on the sand dunes watching the sun set over the water.

Have you ever heard of a man named Troy Tempest?

Ugh yeah, I know the guy or rather I know of his antics. Met him a couple times, cheating, self important jerk.

As far as I know he still works for WASP, he was quite high up the ranks when I joined. He was in the more combat and defence side of things, I was in the sciencey and marine biology side so we never really crossed paths naturally. Colonel Shore was always getting him to give us talks, I remember the first time shaking Troy's hand about to introduce myself before being interrupted with "Nice one kid, keep working at it and maybe you'll end up a captain like me." And then he started going on and on about how free his life is, how he "had a girl at every port" despite having a very much exclusive relationship back home, having his own personal fancy quarters with a mini bar. I glanced over at his lieutenant who just rolled his eyes and shook his head before escaping.

Yeah asshole, pretty damn big asshole.😒

Favourite marine animal?

Did Gordon ask you to ask me this one? He's always asking me about this and I've been refusing to answer him out of spite. Just another way I make his life infinitely better by my presence 😌

But to be honest, I don't have an absolute favourite, because I tend not to think about it too much. I do like sea angels because they're deep sea creatures that look sort of sweet and ghostly but are actually incredibly well adapted to their environment and are vicious predators. But they look like this:

Which is strange and sort of alien, which I like.

Honourable mention also to the vampire squid and to sharks who are much overhated (but don't tell Gordon or he'll try and drag me into his activism and I really don't have the time for it).
