I always keep coming back to monk which was the first job I ever played. In HW I tried to be a machinist, ended back on monk, in shb I wanted to be a dancer, ended back on monk, in EW I wanted to be a reaper, ended back on monk, and now in DT I've been having fun on viper, but now I've eventually caved and gone back to monk.
It might be just a tumblr community thing, but I feel like everyone here are very attached to a certain job that they associate with their wol/oc
#i technically have a main per role? but i've always been a healer main#played whm for 6 or 7 years#swapped to sch for a while#(swapped to dancer for a while and then) swapped to sage seemingly permanently lol#i wanna omniheal tbh#i don't remember shit about whm or sch#and i haven't tried ast since the dt changes ; w;#but uhhhh my tank main is war#my melee main is monk#pranged is dancer#caster is#...we don't talk about caster#eventually i'll learn the other healers as well as i know sage#but it'll be weird going from less is more to more is more lol#i guess in that respect ast would honestly be best for me? but i'll never be a great ast bc i need play macros

p.s. it's been said a hundred times but apparently always needs to be said again: you're free to think ARR is bad (If You Actually Played It) but omg don't go around presenting it like it's the be-all, end-all, undisputed, unbiased, objective truth.
I'm forever glad I played when it came out and didn't have to deal with that shit because I can't imagine what it's like to be told over and over 'the game starts bad but just keep going'.
If people hadn't absolutely loved ARR we wouldn't be here now.
#my problem with arr wasn't that it was bad#it's that it was... a lot.#iirc post-game arr alone used to be 200 quests or so#which was understandable for 2.0 but not for as long as the game's gone on#to be fair they weren't expecting it to last this long but yeah lmao#pruning the quests was one of the best things the could've done to keep this game going i think#mind you i did the old arr slog like 150 times or some shit#and i've done post-pruned arr 50 times or so#i've also been playing since 2.0#so like. i get it#they cut out some of my favorite character-building quests#but they also cut out a lot of like. fetch quests and random tedium that while it did add to the 'as an adventurer you need to do odd jobs#- to eat' it was just. imo needless tedium#it doesn't feel nearly as bad getting through arr anymore as it used to#...i am in fact doing it again on three more toons lol#i'm very sleepy and not proofreading my tags but i think i've said the same thing two or three times#i'm gonna get back to playing on long-haired erenville til i pass out lol

I don't know if this learning style is universal or American-centric, but when I was a kid we had these guides on how to write letters that often included little numbered arrow guides to indicate stroke order and direction like these:
and I wonder if there's one out there for Eorzean script. Considering making one myself at some point but I have no idea about stroke order or direction for any of the letters.

one of the things i love most about erenville is how utterly casual he is about the wol. he knows exactly who we are and what we're capable of and clearly has complete faith in us but with the overwhelming vibe that he just could not care less. anytime we get to do wol stuff he's just like "what do you want a medal" and goes on about his day. king
#my wol knows (and is dating) erenville well before we meet him in msq#so yeah the need for normalcy definitely fits him#by the time we get to endwalker han's self-loathing is so strong he basically feels nothing at all anymore#genuinely the lingering light poisoning from shb may have saved his life in endwalker#but yeah erenville is well aware of han's need to be treated as just a normal guy
