We get asked a lot about our company & the advice we can give others in #business. Especially by those who want to tackle #fashion while making a meaningful #impact. Listen, creating something based on your ethos & #ethics is a #risk. Having turned our unconventional upbringing coupled w/our values into a business is scary. Going against the grain- forgoing our traditional #gender & cultural #expectations makes it even harder. What if it isn’t well received? It presents a million questions you can’t answer. Operating from the “greater the risk, greater the reward” mindset can ignite you to start but then what? #Entrepreneurship doesn’t come w/a rules book bc essentially there aren’t any. What may work for you isn’t going to work for someone else & vice versa. You are the perpetual student, constantly learning & evolving. Stagnation will be the death of you. Aligning #business with #purpose is the new black, everyones doing it & although there is room for all of us make sure your uniqueness stands out. That your point of departure is true to you. Don’t be a prisoner of a prototype. It’s one thing to have fresh ideas but it’s a whole another ball game to stick w/them & actually stand up for them. We, especially as #women need to be unafraid of unleashing our #originality. We are all powerful & have something to offer even if we haven't discovered it yet. #Compassion & #kindness is the thread that will bind us all together & it can be the backbone of a company. Before you start #inspiring others ask yourself do you #inspire yourself? Would you follow you? I realise it’s a privilege to be able to cut down on fast fashion, and this isn’t for everyone. I’m still guilty of shopping in these stores sometimes because nobody’s perfect and it’s really hard to quit cold turkey (especially when u got short legs and jeans are so fuckin long all the time.) But the first step towards addressing an issue is making conscious choices where you can.
