i do!! i always tag them under "#derelict drabbles" for ease of access but i also have about seven unproofed pieces plus a misguided backburner crossover i've been daydreaming about, so those should end up popping up soon!

of course, if anyone has a Concept that they want to toss my way so i can see what takes shape in the word processor, i always find that a lot of fun, too!

Sometimes, they are a distant drone, teasing at the marrow; sometimes, blade-sharp cries that meld, discordant, with the environment. Failing life support. The Zariman’s labored shudders. A sudden, screaming litany, fractured with blind panic: please, please, somebody help.

The screams reach a ghastly crescendo, and it dawns: they are coming from you. Are you begging for salvation from the ones yet uninfected? Are you baiting them in, to help them understand?

It matters little. You are smothered by void-song, recast in null, and it is abhorrent.

It is sublime.

ohhhh and rell was holding the line against the indifference all by himself for such a long time too

he put up a fight for ages and ages but it is not a thing one can sustain alone!! it's compassion and also it's connection and the latter is so so important because we all have to lift together

literally though smth smth the opposite of love is indifference and it is against that darkness that we rage!!

so you know how at the end of a quest you get the little title card at the end with a snapshot of a Moment surrounding the story? like - following the sacrifice - you get your operator and umbra set to smiles from juran, which is the emotional lynchpin of the quest. after duviri, you get a remarkably hopeful and heartwarming shot of teshin with his rabbit - and the vocals and pizzicato are similarly so lighthearted and tranquil in contrast with the bulk of duviri's tone - it's a bit of earned respite!

whispers in the wall gives us this really nicely framed shot of loid and the vessels from the climax of the quest - and, like, someone confirm or correct (there was a lot of "ohhhh!!!! WHOA !!!" happening on my end i did NOT get a good listen), but isn't the accompanying track what you're hearing during the final boss fight? it's such a heavy-hitting note to leave off on and i love that - instead of resolution, like you feel for the above two examples, it feels more like we're just getting started with something. no neat sense of closure or respite here! and it ties SO incredibly well with the notion that the origin system is still very much in danger - but, for now, we've managed to beat it back. love as the antithesis to indifference. compassion as the weapon we have at our disposal, and it is going to be put to the test, but for this, it was enough, and we just have to hope it will always be enough

We’ve all seen ‘Drifter and Operator who act a bit like siblings, with the Drifter being the cool older one’. But consider, Drifter who is generally paranoid and is scared shitless by this sudden child who looks like them from several years ago, except now they have magic void powers

okay now one thing that i'm thinking is that 1999 is The pivotal, important year... because it's the year of the infestation outbreak, right? when we got introduced to it i thought "yeah of course, the temporal ground zero for the technocyte plague"

it's at least something that isn't common knowledge, or doesn't have a foothold in the world yet. the biggest thing spoken about over the PAs is Y2K and new year's seems to just go off like new year's, and that kind of implies to me that arthur and aoi are in a place similar to hayden in darkSector - they're in the middle of a mission to stop the outbreak before it spreads, and albrecht is an important part of that.

of course with the added element of eternalism and accompanying themes of time travel, a theory i could throw at the wall to see if it sticks is, like. idk the infestation was brought back to 1999 from the future due to some orokin meddling? darksector isn't close-canon but the remark that the first instance of a warframe-like presence would have happened far enough in the past that it had no conventional bearing on the present day plot... yk, maybe like the turn of the 21st century...

@a-tenno-called-prin digital extremes does this really cool thing where they have ideas and INDULGE them and i am never going to get over how it felt to get humanframes confirmed real like (bc of course warframes are humans orokin are humans corpus grineer etc it is all people! but humanframe!)

but also i so hope that loid and necraloid come to terms with each other - the former especially. all jokes aside i think that characterwise guy!loid is in a place where seeing necraloid just kind of lands as a gut-punch for a lot of reasons, and he reacts to things that hurt him by getting cold.

you have to warm him up to his little robot twin like he's a skittish horse and you're desensitizing him with burlap

^^^^^ quick thinker volt!! i think that volt has a very special charisma about him (always happy to see a volt! unless u are, i have heard, razorwing titania), so i think that no matter what the design ends up being it's going to be good like rebecca. i will accept whatever volt u put into my hands even if he has a mullet

also have to point out how funny it is that volt is latest to the gijinka reveal party

i think that volt sort of has this perceived reputation as being helpful and energetic and plucky, and personally i really like how the Soft-Spoken Battle-Forged Protagonist vibes arthur has jive with my impression of excalibur as a person...

and then we get aoi as our mag and she is COMPELLING she is determined and speaks her mind it is such a wonderful personality to apply to mag in a way that i haven't considered before but Will be doing until the end of time and i can't wait to see her properly - digital extremes i am speaking directly into your ear please let us have some mag time time for mag -
