I don't feel that connected to dragons as mythical, magical beings. I was, and am, kind of just an animal.

I don't have greater intelligence or any magic abilities, I don't hoard things in castles or breathe fire or burn down villages or kill knights– I'm kind of just any regular animal you would see here on Earth, in a dragon shape.

As fun as those depictions of dragons are, I've always been more interested in dragons as natural creatures, as animals that evolved like any other and act accordingly; it feels even more fun to me to imagine realistic draconic biology than just excusing it all with magic!

This is not to belittle magic dragons, of course. Y'all are sick. Love a good wizard dragon.

Me personally, I'm a fairly small dragon. Probably a bit smaller than or comparable to a cow in height (when at adult age)

Though in fiction I love unreasonably massive dragons, I'm not one unforch!

I’ve been thinking about dragons today and I have a very curious question about dragonkins

do you ever think about HOW big you would consider your kintype? Like the general size of the species and age. I would often consider adult dragons be on average to be only a few feet bigger than a blue whale, again this would also depend upon species as well

Quads are actually hard as fuck and kudos to the tiktok therians for being able to do it, super jealous of them LAL most I can do is awkwardly walk for 1 minute. Hurts my back and my legs and especially my hands so badd

I really wish I had some way to comfortably move more like an animal. When I was a kid, I would crawl on my knees whenever I was home alone to pretend to be a housecat. But it hurts my knees so that's not doable either outside of like, my bed or the couch. I do love to gallop when I walk fast though! Galloping and things like holding things in my maw and picking things up with my feet can sometimes scratch the itch. One thing I love to do is to dive in my bed like a fox does to snow.

I can live without quads, but it does suck ^-^;

I've scrutinized over my eye color for a while, at first I thought it was orange.. but I came to the conclusion that theyre dark brown and orange when hit with sunlight.

In low light it looks like the whole eye is empty and black. vry cool

It's hard to convey texture, but I'm not a hard scaley dragon, more soft like fish scales. Slick like wet rocks. I spent a lot of time in lakes n ponds and wet caves so :p

There's an animal who I have a relationship with that I don't know how to categorize. Not 'kin, not quite 'hearted, not just a favorite animal or animal I like— It's strange.

Horses, I love horses. I am very drawn to characters with horse-like characteristics or themes, it's a whole thing between my friends that I love any horse-like character and creature. I feel a /sort/ of kinship to them, but kind of on a surface level? It's more about the way they move and the way that they look, and I often find myself imagining what it must be like to move through the world as one and run like one and look like one— But I'm not a horse. And I don't particularly /relate/ to them. But it feels different from other animals that I just find cool. I dunno!

(Not particularly asking for advice or a microlabel that describes my experience. Just sharing what I feel about honsies)
