Look, I'm on the spectrum myself, so I totally get the impulse to try and logic things out, but if I see one more post that's like "neurotypical people are crazy because explaining to them why their emotional reactions are irrational doesn't cause them to stop experiencing those emotions" – buddy, that doesn't work on anybody. I'm willing to bet real money it doesn't even work on you. The problem you are experiencing is that you have chosen a deescalation strategy with a zero percent success rate.

I’m proud to identify as morosexual. I’m attracted to dumbasses and dumbasses exclusively. A guy asked me what the Spanish word for tortilla was once and now I dream of kissing him under the moonlight

As a society we have benefited so much from successful public health measures that we now have the privilege of declaring that we must not need them anymore
Bitch before enriched flour, neural tube defects like spina bifida were far more common. Even now, spina bifida clinicians and researchers are begging to have salt and maize fortified to reach groups that don’t use as much flour. Before iodized salt, the United States had a fucking GOITER BELT. Eleven years after the introduction of fluoridated water, a city in Michigan found the rate of dental caries among school children dropped a staggering 60%— in an era where tooth decay regularly fucking killed people
I’m literally not even going to start on vaccines, which are among the most successful and robustly studied public health measures in world history
You might say “oh well today we all have access to vitamins and toothpastes and dentists so we don’t need those things in our food supplies” and boy do white people on social media loooove to fucking say that. But here’s the thing: no, people don’t all have easy access to those things. That’s privilege talking yet again

I still think that my favorite urban legend/folklore fact is that there are certain areas in New Orleans where you cannot get a taxi late at night not because it isn’t safe, but because taxi companies have had recurring problems of picking up ghosts in those areas who are not aware that they are dead and disappearing from the cab before reaching the destination and therefore stiffing the driver on the fare causing a loss for the company.

Reading late 1990s/early 2000s indie comics like "okay, is this a kink thing, or does the artist just think people getting pissed on is inherently funny?"

Wait hang on. Do ~christian kids ACTUALLY believe that santa is real? I thought that was just in movies??? Like, is "being shocked to learn santa was your parents" a real thing that really actually really happens in real life??? I thought it was like opening the door and setting out an extra cup of wine on passover. Obviously the prophet Elijah isn't actually going to walk in and take a sip. Obviously "santa" is your parents playing pretend. You're all just doing a bit, right???
#I’d say that 2/5 of my most awkward childhood experiences involved adults who like really played up the whole insisting that Santa is real#around children thing#especially around children who they don’t really know that close#they weren’t even like lying about it persay but it was like they were really insistent on playing up the whole magic and whimsy#of childhood thing like guys you were trying way too hard like kids can entertain themselves with like literal sticks and stuff#like I don’t even think that’s how the whole Disney Magic ™️ thing worked for most of the company’s existence#like it only started getting like that after it all got dumbed down like crazy because every baby is an iPad baby now and you need to be as#oott as possible to keep their attention not even so they have fun just their attention so they don’t go back to their iPads#like I already was reaching critical levels of secondhand embarrassment from the people who assumed I was into that crap in the early 00’s#can’t imagine how bad it’s gotten now#like just let your kids play along on their own without like literally trying to convince them that Santa is real with like facts and logic#the strangest part is that neither of those two incidents happened like inside a mall at Christmas time#like one of those involved my orthodontist in like the middle of April it was weird#and people say that autistic peeps have a problem with taking everything literally

Johnny: Wait, do you have Asperger syndrome?
Peter: No, Asperger Syndrome was removed from the DSM-5 in 2013 and the ICD11 in 2019 and is now apart of autism spectrum disorder.
Johnny: Okay…
Peter: I have autism spectrum disorder.
