Post-Requiem Toki to Mitski's Class of 2013..
I gave the song a few listens last night and was so stricken by it I had to put it into something right away.
I thought about how terrible fate had treated Toki. I wanted to explore him navigating his trauma and grief Post-Doomstar Requiem. He does see Dethklok as his family and in AOD we do see that he is still impacted by the trauma, but I wanted to take the path of him feeling isolated and hurt by those he had loved. I needed to drive in the nail of him being wounded by Dethklok's initial negligence and for him to feel at loss about where to go next or who to turn to.
In this exploration of Toki's character, he possibly returns to Norway, trying to find solace where there was none.
He deserves happiness.
