as someone who struggled for years with my sexuality, young royals isn’t just a show for me. It gives me a sense of happiness I don’t really get from other shows, because I can understand the anxiety wilhelm goes through, I can understand the fear he feels surrounding his sexuality, i can even understand confessing under the influence of alcohol because that is literally how I came out to some of my closest friends. It’s an incredible show, and their relationship is truly heart wrenching but it also gives so many members of the LGBTQ+ community the representation we crave, and that is why I love it.
