Narrative Prelude

In the waning days of the Upper Paleolithic era, somewhere in what would one day be known as the Middle East, a young woman stands atop a stone, gazing out at what was once her home.

— “...Why did you do it?”

Those are the simple words she asks the enigmatic man beside her. He is tall, nearly as tall as the dry young trees that surround them. His beauty is unsettling, almost inhuman, but the woman knows his true nature. She has already been cruelly deceived. She bears no grudge, unlike her husband. What she carries is a great and burning curiosity toward the wickedness in the being who stands at her side in that silent plain.

The man glances at her and laughs, not with kindness or mercy, no. He laughs with the arrogance of one who has never been denied.

— “Ah, I see you mistake the deeds of my younger brother for mine, dearest Eve.”

He begins to circle the stone, his gaze shifting between the young woman and her belly, almost mocking her current state.

— “My apologies. He… He only came into this world a few millennia ago. As you might imagine, my younger brother lacks the restraint to tame his unruly impulses.”

Eve looks at the wicked creature calmly. She feels no hatred, no sorrow. In truth, she feels nothing at all but an unrelenting desire to understand why that serpent lured her into tasting the fruit of wisdom.

— “...Why?”

She asks again, her human voice soft against the vast silence. The demon leans in ever so slightly, enough to meet her gaze.

— “...”

He smiles faintly, as if savoring the moment before his answer.

— “We demons act on impulse when we are young.”

He straightens his back and sighs.

— “The simplest way to put it is this: my brother deceived you and your feeble husband because he wanted to and because he could. Nothing else.”

Desire and power. Disobedience and sin.

Only a handful of moons have passed since Adam and Eve’s exile from Eden, after Satan deceived them into defying the Creator of the Celestial Realm. Still, Eve can't rid her mind of how effortless, how deceptively simple the serpent’s seduction was the moment she committed what would become the first sin.

She looks around her. At her feet, dirty and covered in hard calluses from working the earth, trying to coax life from it. She lifts her eyes to the sky, toward that searing sun, where the Great Father watches them as always. Then, she looks once more at the demon, who though unchanged, now seems somehow more dreadful.

— “If you are not the one who deceived us… then what is your name?”

To one who has never seen a demon before, this being might be mistaken for an angel. And those who do recognize his nature would know he once was one. He was the most beloved of the Father’s angels, the one who, for reasons never fully known, betrayed his kind and his Creator, unable to see beyond the limits of his own pride. This is the first fallen angel, one of the seven princes of the Underworld, and the living avatar of pride.

— “My name is Lucifer.”

The young woman stares at him. His unnerving, almost-human visage does not frighten her. Strangely, it intrigues her.

— “Are all your kind the same?”

Are all demons like Satan? Do they all wish to harm simply because they can?

— “Are you like that, Lucifer?”

Her question drifts through the dry savanna air, vibrating in the heat that blurs the horizon, among the bare trees too afraid to whisper an answer.

He smiles, that same smile, as if sketched in charcoal across a face too flawless for this world.

— “I am far more than you, Eve.” His voice holds no arrogance, only certainty. — “You were shaped from clay… I was light before I had form.”

He circles the stone where she sits. He does not touch her. He doesn’t need to.

— “Yet still, there is something in you I recognize. Something I find... familiar.” He pauses briefly, as if peering past her eyes into something deeper. — “Desire. The hunger to know. To cross thresholds. To do more. To be more.”

She meets his gaze, not with fear, nor with submission. But with the ancient stillness only women who have lost everything can possess.

Lucifer extends a hand. In it, an object: A book bound in dark leather, and a piece of blackened charcoal. Unmarked. Weightless. And yet, it feels as though the world could shift through it.

— “What you do with this is yours to decide,” he murmurs. — “You may leave it here, forget it like all things once sacred… or you may write.”

Eve blinks slowly, examining the strange item in his hand, not fully understanding.

— “I don’t know how to use that.”

Lucifer tilts his head, his gaze aglow with an ageless, rehearsed patience.

— “You do. You already know everything.” He touches, without actually touching, the center of her forehead. — “The fruit opened the gates. The words will come. First as sound. Then as shape. And later… as power.”

Eve takes the book. It is warm, not from the sun. Lucifer steps back. His figure begins to fade into the wind.

— “Write what you will. What you fear. What you imagine. What you uncover.” His voice no longer seems to come from him, but from the earth itself. — “The book is yours. But what you place within it… will never entirely belong to you.”

And just like that, he is gone.

As if he had never been there at all. Only the scent of warm air remains and a book, still untouched, resting in the hands of the first woman.

this is a personal project i've been imagining since the very first chapters of the og obey me game. a story taking course in a different universe where the demon brothers are more demon-like in their personality but find a way to exist with certain human that will be the protagonist of this story

this isn't a love story or a great story even, just something i dream about recurrently and i, finally, decided to write down and share here

i hope procrastination doesn't take my will to write away with this one :)

Since the Obey Me brothers are so attached to their MC and every single one of them have a animal form, why not turn into that animal and sneak out MC when they're at their school / work?

Mammon

That man has it easy, since he can turn into a crow that couldn't suppose any big danger since he can fly and more. Mammon could easily come through your classroom window one day, scaring everyone away in the process, and bring you whatever silly thing he got along the way. Did you know that crows, like parrots, can imitate human sounds? Well now you know Mammon even as a crow would speak to you.

— Look human! I found Lucifer's credit card, let's hang out after ya class / shift!

— Mammon, get the hell out of here.

The rest of the day he refuses to leave and remains either on your head or on your shoulder, occasionally asking for cuddles.

Leviathan

Now, now, Levi has things a little more complicated, since he's a snake so the only way for him to visit you in his animal form would be to travel through the water pipes to get to you, so imagine one day you minding your own business and hearing a terrified scream followed by another scream saying "A snake!"... What are the chances that a snake will enter the building? In any case, you know without proof or doubt that it's Levi.

— Don't hurt him! He's my... pet? Yes!

To avoid problems with your class / workmates, you decide to just apologize and get as far away as you can just to "scold" Levi for appearing like that out of nowhere, his answer? Get inside your clothes and spend all day with you hissing and moving when he's uncomfortable.

Satan

Yeah no, there's no way he's going to turn into a freaking unicorn, so he very wisely decides to be a cat! Of course! Very agilely he manages to follow you from home to your school / work without being discovered, he even successfully infiltrates inside the establishment! You only realize his preference when you hear many people try to call him saying "kitty!", then you turn around and as if it were a beautiful movie like reunion, Satan runs towards you and jumps on you only for you to catch him and start to purr.

— MC! I didn't know you had a cat!

— Me neither...

— What?

— What?

Satan is a micro celebrity around your class / workmates, everyone takes pictures of him and petting him... obviously failing in this, he is a surly cat that only allows and demands that you pet him and give him your full attention.

Asmodeus

Another one that wouldn't turn into his designated animal is obviously Asmo because "scorpions aren't cute enough" so what does he choose? Simple, a cute lop-eared bunny. Unlike the others, he tells you that he will go with you and gives you a nice bag to carry him in it.

— Your bunny is such a cutie! I love him.

— Sure, just... don't look at him in his eyes for too long... I don't want you to get charmed.

Unlike Satan, Asmo does enjoy the attention he receives and even, in his bunny way, asks you to change his clothes and does tricks! So all day he tries to get everyone's attention and when your teacher / supervisor tries to reprimand you for having him, he just charms them.

Beelzebub & Belphegor

Beel is a fly and Belphie is a cow and, although naturally they could be together in their animal form, I don't think it would be very convenient to take a sleepy cow and a hungry fly with you, so they are both a pair of cute ferrets. The way to get to you is by getting inside your backpack without you noticing, you discover them when you go to look for a snack to eat and you realize that there are only 2 furballs in the pocket, one sleeping and the other eating what was left of the snack.

— Awww Beel! That was my snack!

— Eek!

— Come here you both.

The rest of the day they spend in your pockets and table sleeping together or playing with each other, from time to time Beel will ask you for food nibbling your finger so get ready to spend money.

Lucifer

Lucifer doesn't care sneaking into your school work in his human form so why would he be using his animal form? ... I don't know, the planets aligned or something, besides, the only reason he would meddle in your day would be because his brothers are doing something with you that he does not particularly like. Don't be surprised if you're with one of the brothers (pets) and out of nowhere a black peacock shows up ready to attack.

— MC is that... a peacock !?

— No.... that's the devil himself.

Luci would not stay the whole day with you because he's a very busy man, but if you ask him, he could open his train (tail) to impress your class / workmates. At the end of the day, as always, he will pick you up in his human form and by car, he hates it when you go home alone.

Lucifer: [gives MC a disgusted look] I would never encourage such inappropriate behavior.

MC: Oh, come on. It's all in good fun.

Lucifer: [sighs] Fine, how about this one: "Are you a demon lord? Because you've been ruling my thoughts all day."

MC: Damn, that was so lame.

Lucifer: I never said it was good.

Some silly headcanons about the Obey Me brothers

• Mammon will ALWAYS go for you after school/work. One day after a long day of hard work, you were going normally like every day you left the building to go home and you noticed a lot of people surrounding what seemed to be a luxurious car, "whatever" you thought, but before continuing With your way you heard how a well-known voice yelled at you "Oi human! Get in! We're goin for some shoppin spree at Gucci now!" and there you understood that the person in the luxurious car was your favorite demon... what a shame to draw attention like that, hmph.

• Lucifer sometimes will take you out shopping just for you to flex him on your social media, he's really proud of himself when it comes to being your (sugar daddy lol) economic whims supporter. "Yes, my darling. You can take a photo of us with these... weird looking teas?, whatever makes you happy".

• Beel loves, he really ADORES when you both bake something together, not just because he loves to eat but also because you always try to make him not to eat the ingredients, and he intentionally teases you with that just to see your "angry" face. "Beel, drop that spoon. Now... No, Beel, don't touch the chocolate... Beel, no, Beel, BEELZEBUB!!!" "Hahaha, sorry, sorry. It just tastes really good".

• Levi is a hardcore otaku and we all know that, but he's also a really big fan of K-Pop, in fact, he loves K-Pop as much as Zaramela's music, so he could (and will) force you to learn a lot of the choreographies. "Okay! So this one goes like: pose, hands, move, move, pose and "anti-ti-ti-ti-fragile fragile ×2... Got it??" "Uhhh".

• Shopping and sleepover with Asmo is something nice and fun but partying???? He's the best! He will always invite you to party at the weekend and when you say yes he's the happiest demon in the Devildom. "We're gonna match outfits together! I want you to be the prettiest, after me, so when my succubies meet you they fall for you!" and since he's well known the DJ always plays the music he wants, so if you want to dance to any specific song he will make play that for you, "Slaaay queen! Look at your moves!".

• Themes cafe dates are a must when you go out with Satan, he just adores visiting every cute themed cafe in the city, Alice in Wonderland themed cafe? check, baroque themed cafe? check, anime themed cafe??? also check, CAT THEMED CAFE? ABSOLUTELY CHECK! "There's a new alpaca themed cafe on the west side of the city, we're going today" "But I haven't said yes yet..." "I don't care, I made reservations" "Oh".

• Belphie nap dates are boring sometimes, so he decides to take them to another level. Camping dates with Belphie (even if it's in the backyard of the house) where you both can see the stars, eat s'mores (ft Beel) and fall asleep together because it gets cold at midnight. "That one, there, is not a star" "No??" "No, that's Mercury" "Ohh... I heard that Mercury is retrograde now" "... What does that even mean?".

As a someone who coping mechanism is maladaptive daydreaming, imagining weird scenarios about the obey me boys is (all human emotions) af, but since im going through a breakup (where most of the memories I have are from maladaptive daydreaming) every time I remember something about that Mammon "appears" next to me and comfort me so (I need to share this for my own mental health)...

Mammon as your older brother who comforts you after a trauma response !

• Every time you start having bad memories and start feeling anxious he looks at you and simply asks: "And that did actually happen?" so you remember that anxiety is a response for things that didn't actually happen. Get in control of your feelings again!!

• Or when you're feeling down in bed at night he gets in your room and "force" (consensual) you to get up and dance with him. "Ay ay! Why ya feelin so sad?? Move ya body human!"

• Even when you're walking on the street and see something that remembers you something you didn't want to, he's always by your side and distracts you with any other funny thing. "Woah! Look that weird ass pigeon!"

• When the urge to look for the thing/person who hurt you hits up he could simply "Gimme ya phone" he doesn't care if you protest, he just wants you to do anything else but being on your phone, "Wanna go shoppin? Come with me, let's get ya somethin nice"

And because of that and more things, Mammon is the best older brother when it comes to get you out of your (toxic) world, so you don't get mentally ill.

about the devs answers on AMA's

im very excited about the release of om nightbringer but it slightly annoys me that they just said "obey me? yeah yeah it still there" brushing it off a bit. on the one hand, i understand that the shall we date developer team doesn't have the human/economic resources to pay 100% attention to both games + the others that they have. but on the other hand i feel that saying "there will be no more lessons in the original om but will continue in nightbringer" seems unfair to everyone (although we still don't know how it will be)

i honestly don't feel so much entitled to feel upset about it because i haven't been able to pass lesson 32 and honestly i had already given up on om (and personally i liked that they said there would be no lessons because at least people like me can finally catch up without feeling so overwhelmed). but i understand for those who have farmed cards and spent real money to prepare for the lessons to come, it must feel like a cheap shot.

i can only say that we must be patient and wait to see how this situation will develop and hope that they don't close the original om (yet).
