Here's the thing. There are some nasty trans masculine people. Absolute fucking dickheads. Dickheads to trans femmes, dickheads to cis queers, dickheads to trans men they see as 'lesser' than them. They say awful shit, they are toxic, they should be held absolutely accountable for all of it. They cannot use their transness to excuse themselves.

But when that guy is the guy you're thinking about entirely when you think of trans mascs you end up making grand generalising sounding statements that people are absolutely going to pick apart.

There are some goddamn awful trans women out there right now, saying the most terrible shit even about other trans women. She's come to your mind now, hasn't she? But she's not all trans women, she's not even most trans women.

If we can understand that, we can understand the same for trans masculine people, and not assume terrible shit about them all the time.

yes !! i am going to see my first parade w my gf of 2 years now!

ive always gone with friends and i realize in hindsight it was more like me going for my friends. my experience and self always took a backseat to everyone elses pride and it was disheartening. i want to do something for myself this pride !!! i want to make up for all the times i didnt get to be so happy and out.

ive come out to a few of my coworkers and its nice to push the labels aside and just be part of my crew. i think now more than ever im just taking any chance to be a little happier and laugh a little more in the moments we have. i wouldnt change my little life right now. its a sweet slice.

i hope we can all share our slices in the community.

i strongly encourage all trans men and transmasc people to go out to your local pride parades this pride month and build community with people offline

please seek out a support network offline with people and make yourselves visible

i know a lot of us struggle with anxiety or other disabilities that make socializing difficult, but it is so important to do this right now in our current political climate

organize, seek help, build connections, make yourselves known to your allies, help contribute to change within and outside of the queer community, but also make sure to keep yourselves safe while doing so

i will be battling my own anxiety to participate in my first pride parade too
