when i first realised i was trans i was terrified of coming out. in part because i asked this guy if hed still be my friend if i started using they/them and he said no but thats irrelevant. because i ended up changing my name on my laptop and my mom got mad at me for it??? like "your name is so beautiful why arent you using it" and transness aside. as a tumblrina who stopped going by their chosen name in public online spaces once it became everything but my legal name. that was so insane?? i was literally practicing internet safety by going by a different name online. what harm is there in putting a different name on my laptop. what
