Hiatus Over

Hi! I'm back! Apologies to everyone that's waiting for their requests. I'm going to get to them this week and type them up and send them out. Grad school has finally slowed down, so I can get back to this. Thanks for anyone that's still following me :)

It's always fascinating to see people amazed at seeing the extent of Diasomnia's abilities for the first time. (Or conversely, annoyed because of how "overpowered" they are.)

There are those, for example, who are surprised that Malleus is extremely physically strong, because they think "he's doing everything with magic right?". Or that Sebek is smart because he looks like a meatball without brains. Or say that Silver is a "twink" because he's slender, but he's actually a contender for one of the strongest characters in the game.

I can't blame them because the game uses "that magic dorm" as a form of distinction for Diasomnia, but in actuality, their value has always been "the lofty spirit of the Thorn Witch"; in other words, "excellence across the boards".

Basically, they're students with shounen-protagonist levels of earnestness to give 101% in everything they do. They're not called the "celebrities" for nothing. They even have special seats for themselves in the cafeteria!

Additional note: In Malleus' case, this is particularly evident in GloMas where he spends 4 hours practicing singing alone, another more hours singing with the main vocalists, and some more with the whole group. Although he's already very talented, he doesn't skimp on effort just to make sure that he does everything perfectly. That is the spirit of Diasomnia.

Defense Against Overblot

Summary:Malleus x gn!reader You've done the math, and you're pretty sure your boyfriend will be the next overblot. Not on your watch!

"Ah my child of man! How gracious of you to allow your sunshine to grace my poor vis…"

"Mal, we're going on vacation," You interrupted before he could spend the next half hour praising you.

"Did you run here?" Silver asked from the arm chair he was reading in.

You had, in fact, run all the way here. You'd awoken from a nightmare about a woman with horns that looked a lot like your boyfriend's, and had sprinted all the way to Diasomnia the second you woke up.

"It doesn't matter," you said before turning back to Malleus. "We're going on vacation. I don't care where, but we have to go."

"As much as I would relish the uninterrupted time I would have with you, why?" He said with his head innocently tilted to the side.

"Because…" you trailed off, tapping your foot nervously.

Malleus smiled at you warmly, and gently directed you into his lap, holding you close.

"Mal, I've done the math. Every dorm leader, minus Kalim, has overblotted. And I think you're next," you looked into his eyes, imploring him to understand. "They all looked like they were in so much pain when it happened, and I don't want that to be you."

He stared at you for a minute, confused. Then he burst out laughing.

"It's not funny," you said with a glare, and made to leave his lap.

"Human, it actually is," Sebek sneered from his seat next to Silver. "Lord Malleus is one of the most powerful mages to ever exist. It would be nearly impossible for him to exceed his blot limit."

"Normally, Sebek is a little bit hyperbolic, but in this case he's right. Malleus would have to exceed a rather large amount of blot before he could even have a minor incident," Lilia said with a giggle. His face took on a warm smile as he walked over to you and rubbed your back reassuringly.

"However, as his guardian, it fills me with joy that his partner cares so deeply for him."

Malleus laughed once more, before nuzzling his cheek against yours. "See, dear one? I will not overblot. You have nothing to fear."

Their words definitely made sense, and reassured you greatly. You relaxed a little in Malleus' arms. 

"Alright, I get it. But you'll let me know if you feel off? Even a little bit? I don't want you to get hurt," you pleaded.

His smile was soft, as he said, "If it will ease your heart, then I shall keep you alerted to my feelings and needs."

You sighed and let yourself fully relax into him. You were about to change the topic when the door burst open, revealing Crowley.

"Ah! Prefect! There you are! In my graciousness I have found you a way home!"
