An Update on Reema's Campaign (and a match to go with it)

Reema (@pal-rema) and I have been messaging for over a year now, since she began campaigning for her family. Like all Gazans, Reema and her family have been struggling to survive and have been through suffering we cannot comprehend. For a time last year, Reema was in the hospital with severe hypotension, at a time when there was barely any saline in Gaza, much less available medications.

Currently, Reema is sick with a kidney stone. If you have ever had one, you know that the pain is excruciating. Depending upon the size, stones can cause hydronephrosis, which if left untreated causes kidney damage. The healthcare system in Gaza has been ravaged beyond repair. Reema is suffering from an illness that, if she were anywhere else in the world, would be easily treatable. Instead, she barely has access to potable water, much less to the care she needs.

Even so, Reema is still doing everything she can to campaign to support her family financially. Every time that we speak she tells me how hopeless she feels, as her campaign is barely making any headway. There are stretches of several days when Reema will not receive a single donation. She is losing hope for reaching her goal, even though it is so close within reach. Here is the link to Reema's GFM:

Right now, Reema is at $33.3k. Her goal is $35k (CAD). She is 95% of the way there, and yet her fundraiser is moving more slowly than ever. To help her get over the hump, I'm going to do a match for Reema. I donated $30 CAD (equivalent of about 21ish USD). If you're able to give any amount up to or exceeding that, please do. Even $5 makes a difference! That's less than the cost of a cup of coffee.

If you don't have the means to give to Reema, then please send her GFM link to someone you know who does and is willing to give. I know I've said it a million times before, but it never stops being true: sharing means SHARING the link with other people. Send it to your friends and families and enemies. Send it to your therapist for all I care. Just make sure Reema's GFM is spread as widely as possible, so that she can get to her goal and support her family as best she can.

- the song on the poster "ninja never quit" has a similar message to "how it's done" from kpdh. basically, they're gonna fucking get you

- nya gets water earlier, pixal gets samurai x earlier. season 3 and 5 respectively (though nya continues as samurai up until the tournament, passing on the mantle before it begins)

- pixal also gets the elemental power of drone strike (this is canon, i will take questions)

- the ninjago-equivalent events of kpop demon hunters happens way later sometime around motm. it's oppo centric btw 🩵❤️

- fire elementals have a tendency to turn into bugs. 🤷 it's genetics.

- dareth is their manager on the music side, wu is their sensei on the ninja side

- they were able to convince pixal to join in their songs, but she has a lot of civilian issues to fix so only appears rarely. the fans are always super excited when she does (i am the fans)
