Update

So many people want t-shirts!  Yay!  Unfortunately that’s not something I’m comfortable doing.  

1) I made this in Microsoft Word so it’s nOt professional and can’t be blown up.

2) it’s based on a design on LookHuman called “both is good.” Buy it from them instead! I’m not okay getting money from something so derivative.

3) If you want to make a thing (poster, t-shirt, tea cozy...) with this design FOR YOURSELF or a friend, knock yourself out!  Don’t sell things with this design, please. Don’t upload to Redbubble, teepublic, anything.  It’s mine and I said no.

4) Don’t steal it, please. Ask, and I will be happy to give you permission to post it on your Facebook page WITH ATTRIBUTION.

If you have more questions, ask away! This was just a fun thing I made, with no intention of going viral.  If you look at the rest of my blog, I have like 30 followers and not many posts, so this is very weird for me.

Good morning! A friend of mine saw your El Dorado (Both is good.) post on Facebook and said she would love to have it on a poster. So, 1) Would you/could you sell it on a poster or t-shirt or something? 2) If you didn't/can't, how would you feel about someone using your work to make a poster/t-shirt/etc? Thanks! 😊

If you make a poster/t-shirt for yourself, that’s wonderful!  I’d love that.  I’m just uncomfortable with people using my design to make money (uploading to redbubble, etc.)  I’ll also point you to LookHuman, they have a shirt called “both is good” which is where my idea came from! They’ve got other products with that design, which might be what you’re looking for :)

bi has been expanded to mean same and other, and I absolutely embrace this definition.  the El Dorado picture was a fun thing I made, not intending it to reach so many people, and I’ve seen/heard from some people who are concerned.  I don’t want to exclude people outside the binary — far from it!  Rather than reading it as “both male and female,” I’d rather it mean “both my gender and others.”
