Now, when someone replies to your post, or mentions you in a reply, the notification will take you directly to that specific reply. No more scrolling forever to find the relevant conversation. Just tap and you’re there. You can also copy the link to a specific reply from its overflow menu.

You can now use date-based search operators in the main Tumblr search bar to find older tagged posts from before 2017. Results are sorted in chronological order. For example, try “star wars year:2015” to see posts tagged with Star Wars created in 2015.

🛠 Fixed

We fixed an issue related to the option “Not interested in this blog.” If you click that option (from the meatball menu on recommended posts), you won’t get recommended posts from that blog anymore.

We fixed an issue that caused reblogged mature posts to be hidden from your own blog view.

The GIF search button has returned to messaging in the iOS app. Please keep your apps up to date!

An Update on the Tumblr Android App

For those of you who access Tumblr through our Android app, we wanted to share that starting today you may see some differences for search queries and posts that may contain specific types of sensitive content. In order to comply with Google’s Play Store Guidelines, we have adjusted what you’re able to access as it relates to potentially sensitive content while using the Android app. 

To remain available within Google's Play Store, we have added more measures and limit exposure to potentially sensitive content in order to comply with their guidelines and to provide a safer experience to you. To learn more about Google’s Play Store Guidelines, click here. 

How you may experience these changes

When browsing Tumblr through Dashboard, Search, Communities and other surfaces you might experience less content and some searches might not produce any results unless you enable “show mature content” in Tumblr settings. Please refer to our Help Center article to learn more.

Why these changes are being made

We want to make sure Tumblr is available everywhere you would like to access it. In order for us to remain in Google’s Play Store and for our Tumblr Android app to be available, we needed to make changes that would help us be more compliant with Google’s policies around sensitive content. 

We understand that, for some of you, these changes may be very frustrating – we understand that frustration and we apologize for any disruption that these changes may cause. 

Who this impacts

These changes will only impact those who are accessing Tumblr through the Android app. If you are using our iOS app, accessing Tumblr through mobile web or online through tumblr.com, your experience will remain unchanged.

so late to this bc I'm still on the old layout so I don't see this icon but apparently tumblr tv is becoming more prominent to the point where they're giving it an icon and I think that's why I'm seeing post about it now bc it always been a thing (I think longer than tumblr live) that would be on the top of the for you tab but then they took it away but now they're pushing it again........

Loving the style, thank you! I couldn't use tumblr without it. Recently though it converted back to the new (darker) tumblr blue. Do you know how to get it back to the old (lighter) blue? All of tumblr's innate styles hurt my eyes. The Low Contrast is too low contrast and the True Blue is too high contrast. The old shade of tumblr blue is easiest on my eyes ):

Hi there! Yeah, it looks like whatever people were using to change the colours & font stopped working - However, I actually made an Old Tumblr Blue (& font) Userstyle a while ago since I noticed NewXkit's 'old blue' wasn't working properly;

I might edit it at some point to make it fully customisable for people to create their own theme colours but for now, this is it! It's got all of the old blue stuff and font working just fine!

Sometimes I think about Facebook's default audience settings and how I really need Tumblr to steal this feature 300 years ago. Sure you can set your post to be reblogged by everyone or no one and I think communities keeps posts made for them within them so they're not in the tag, but this shit

Being able to choose if your post is viewable & reblogable by mutuals/followers only or by the specific blog you pick to interact.... This level of control over your post! Ugh, I want that shit. I want this so bad over here.
