Okay I got into a legitimately heated argument with a friend over this. She totally drank the kool-aid and was spouting off this shit about how women are most fertile in their teen years and are pretty much infertile by 30. I need everyone to know that in the US, the average age for first-time moms is 27 (https://www.pewresearch.org/short-read/2023/05/09/facts-about-u-s-mothers/) and teen pregnancies have double the mortality rate of parents in their 20s ("Child Development" 16th edition by Santrock, Deater-Deckard, and Lansford; page 104.)
Well written fiction is by definition going to be edgy and problematic but not for the reasons you think; it's because in order to present a compelling argument for or against something you also have to present a case for the other side. If you're willing to strawman the opposing case the book will not be very good
Hey hey hey folks, guess where the FUCK I was tonight!
Also, this is a good time to finally reveal: I will be acting in and (co)directing an abridged production of Ride the Cyclone(To be clear, I am NOT affiliated with the Beck Center/Baldwin Wallace version, but I saw that version AND I will be directing a DIFFERENT production of the show)! I will do everything in my power to make sure SOMEONE makes a slime tutorial!
I also have a Ride The Cyclone sideblog! @iamaskinwhylord ! I am SO excited!
