Download the gibMacOS script from this link and extract it to your Mac. From the extracted folder, run the script called gibMacOS.command — it will open the Terminal as shown below.

Wait for the script to fetch the macOS download catalogue from Apple. When the list is ready choose a number as per your OS option and press the Return/Enter key. You can use this script to download macOS Big Sur (11.1), Catalina (10.15), Mojave (10.14), and High Sierra (10.13.6). A new folder “macOS downloads” appears in the “gibMacOS-master” as you provide a download option, and the OS starts downloading as you can see in the video.

The OS gets downloaded as parts, PKGs, DMGs and other files. For macOS versions up-to Big Sur, you need to use another script “BuildmacOSInstallApp.command” in the main folder to join all the downloads and make the full macOS installer app. All you need is to drag and drop the downloaded macOS folder to the terminal window. The script will build the offline installer and save it to the same folder.

You don’t need to use the second script if your choice is macOS Big Sur. Because, for macOS Big Sur you get a full-size installer from Apple in PKG format. Double-click and open the InstallAssistant.PKG to save the “Install macOS Big Sur.app” to the Applications folder.

Apart from this, some older versions of macOS are available for direct download from Apple (Sierra, EL Capitan, Yosemite) in DMG format.

How to make a macOS bootable USB installer

It is possible to create a backup macOS installer on a DVD or USB drive but later is the best choice. Most of the Macs these days don’t have DVD slots, and the installation through a disc is very slow. Hence we discuss only about making macOS recovery installer on a USB disc. For this you need a Mac and a USB pen drive of at least 8 GB space, and a third-party app called DiskMaker.

First, download a copy of Disk Maker from the official website.

Choose a version as per your requirement. For example, if you want make USB installer for macOS Catalina 10.15, download Disk Maker X 9.

I use an MacBook Pro with High Sierra. Hence, I’m downloading disk maker X 7.

The next step is to download full macOS installer from the App Store to your Applications folder.

Run Disk Maker DMG installer and copy the app to the Applications.

The application will automatically detect the downloaded macOS as shown in the screenshot. Select “Use this Copy” if you would like to proceed with it.

Next is setting the USB pen drive for creating the bootable installer. Choose the third option ” An 8 GB USB Thumb drive.”

The app will list all drives in your system. Pick the one you would like use as macOS USB installer.

Ignore the warning message and proceed to Erase and Create macOS USB disk. Don’t forget to provide your admin password when it prompts.

Keep checking notifications tab for progress. When it completes you will find Install macOS Mojave (or High Sierra) mounted to your desktop as a USB disk.

That’s your backup. Unmount and keep the USB installer to a safe place.

Unfortunately, the above app is not compatible with macOS Big Sur 11 and above. Check the instructions on Apple website, the manual method to make macOS offline USB installer.

What is the alternative if I don’t have usable Mac at the moment?

This method is applicable when you have a Mac, and the internet recovery fails. But think about a situation when your only Mac stops to boot, and you don’t have USB installer or TimeMachine backup! Downloading MacOS DMG file might save you. If you have a macOS DMG, you can create bootable USB disk from a Windows PC — use a software like TransMac for this purpose.

Clean installing or restoring a Mac offline with USB pen drive

As said earlier, you could use the macOS USB installer to do a clean install or restore it upon a boot failure. Just connect the USB disk and press the Option/Alt Key when you hear the boot sound. The Mac will then display all the startup disks available.

Pick the USB drive starting with the label “Install macOS” and follow on-screen instructions to complete the installation. If you need, use the Disk Utility to format the drive for doing a clean install.

However, Apple has decided that macOS Sierra and later will no longer be listed in Mac App Store's Purchased. To download the installer of macOS Sierra, go to Apple Support.

Note: After downloading the Mac OS installer, do not install the OS but quit the installer.

Step 2 Get A USB Drive with Sufficient Storage

You should have a USB drive with at least 8 GB of storage and insert the USB drive into your Mac. If you need to create a bootable USB drive of macOS High Sierra, 16 GB USB flash drive is suggested. In fact, USB drives with larger storage, like 32 GB to 64 GB, tend to show better performance.

IMPORTANT: The contents of the drive will be erased after creating a bootable installer drive. Therefore, make sure there is nothing important on your flash drive before you continue with the following steps.

Step 3 Check the Name of Your Flash Drive

The following command is to create a bootable copy of Mac OS installer on a USB drive named FlashInstaller. If your USB drive has a different name, replace FlashInstaller in the command with the name of your USB drive. If you don't want to modify the command, change the name of your flash drive into FlashInstaller.

Step 4 Create A Bootable USB Drive of macOS/OS X

Launch Terminal enter the following command according to the version of Mac operating system that you are dealing with.

After pasting the command on the Terminal, hit Enter key. You'll be asked to enter your Mac's password. Enter the password and hit Enter.

If you think it is too much trouble to use Terminal to make a bootable installer on a USB drive, you can use tools like DiskMaker X, Install Disk Creator. Both the tools can make an install drive for macOS Sierra, OS X El Capitan, OS X Yosemite and more.

DiskMaker X: When you launch the application, it will try to find the downloaded macOS or OS X installers program on your Mac. And you just need to follow its on-screen instructions to create a bootable USB drive by clicking a few buttons.

Install Disk Creator: Once you run the application, select a USB drive, choose a Mac OS installer, and click Create Installer to begin to create an install USB drive.

Before using createinstallmedia command, people used to use Disk Utility to create a bootable installer drive manually. But the process is much more complicated than the Terminal method. So Apple also suggests you make a bootable install drive via Terminal.

Just in case that you don't want to use Terminal, you may follow these steps to build a USB drive for Mac OS X or macOS.

Mount the Mac OS installer to get .DS_Store, BaseSystem.chunklist, and BaseSystem.dmg. Files from InstallESD.dmg file.

ASN.1 and DER encoding

Within the RSA, PKCS#1 and SSL/TLS communities the Distinguished Encoding Rules (DER) encoding of ASN.1 is used to represent keys, certificates and such in a portable format. Although ASN.1 is not the easiest to understand representation formats and brings a lot of complexity, it does have its merits. The certificate or key information is stored in the binary DER for ASN.1 and applications providing RSA, SSL and TLS should handle DER encoding to read in the information.

PEM files

Because DER encoding results in a truly binary representation of the encoded data, a format has been devised for being able to send these in an encoding of printable characters so you can actually mail these things. The format I focus on now is the PEM format.

Most PEM formatted files we will see are generated by OpenSSL when generating or exporting an RSA private or public key and X509 certificates.

In essence PEM files are just base64 encoded versions of the DER encoded data. In order to distinguish from the outside what kind of data is inside the DER encoded string, a header and footer are present around the data. An example of a PEM encoded file is:

The first and last line indicate the DER format that should be expected inside. The data inside is a base64 encoded version of the DER encoded information.

Formats

So that's all nice and well. But what IS the structure you should expect in each different file? Look below for explanation of different formats.

RSA Public Key file (PKCS#1)

The RSA Public key PEM file is specific for RSA keys.

This function can be used to create a private key for use by JCE in Java. For example, a private key could be generated by a PHP script and the result could be used in a Java client application. Java requires the private key in DER format with some extra ASN.1 wrapping. Sep 14, 2018 It will be a nice puzzle for the next sorry soul who sees 'Wii U shader support' in the list of Retroarch 'features,' ends up here, and embarks on the quest to unlock the easter egg. Part of the fun, I guess. Oh, and since the menu shader was compiled, why not the other Retroarch shaders? One at a time, for all I care. Once you’ve finished installing LaunchBox, head over to the Retroarch website, click the “Downloads” link in the main navigation menu, and follow the instructions from there. Once Retroarch finishes downloading, run the installer. However, don’t just run through the installer blind like you would most programs. Run Retroarch at least once, if your missing assets it will ask you to use the online updater which on Wii u will fail. Now exit Retroarch, take out your SD card and put it in your PC. If your not on Wii u just find your specific retroarch file directory and go to it.

Dolphin is a Wii and Gamecube emulator. It has been ported to libretro and an alpha version of the core is available now for Windows and Linux! Version for macOS will be released at a later date.

Team access types determine who can join a team:

Private teams are restricted to team members approved by the team owner(s). This is a typical setting for project teams and virtual teams in a large organization.

Public teams are open to anyone in the organization, and users can join them directly. Infected Burn

Seek immediate medical attention if you think your burn has become infected. An infection can usually be treated with antibiotics and painkilling medication, if necessary. In rare cases, an infected burn can cause blood poisoning (sepsis) or toxic shock syndrome. These serious conditions can be fatal if not treated. A wound infection occurs when germs, such as bacteria, grow within the damaged skin of a wound. Symptoms can include increasing pain, swelling, and redness. More severe infections may cause nausea.

If you have a warm wound or a warm forehead, these signs could indicate an infection.

Whether you are recovering from surgery or injury, it is important to keep an eye out for a possible wound infection. Your risks of infection are increased by certain chronic conditions, medications, psychosocial factors, and poor wound care hygiene practices. Even when you take all of the right steps to prevent an infection, factors beyond your control may cause one to develop. Microorganisms like bacteria may infiltrate the wound, multiply, and damage your skin’s tissues, which causes systemic illness and delays the healing process. If you notice any of the following signs, see your doctor as soon as possible for infected wound treatment.

Burn wound infection. Burn wound infection is defined as ‘bacteria present in the wound and wound eschar at high concentrations. No invasive infection. Pathologic diagnosis: 10 5 bacteria per gram of tissue’. Clinically, the presence of cellulitis is the foundation of the diagnosis.

Infection can involve the depth and extent of a burn, converting a superficial partial-thickness burn into a deep partial-thickness burn or even a full-thickness burn. An infected burn is also more.

1. Feelings of Malaise

Malaise is a common non-specific sign of a localized systemic infection. It is a feeling of tiredness and a lack of energy. You may not feel up to completing normal activities or begin sleeping more than usual. While this type of feeling is associated with surgical recovery, there is a big difference from what is typical and what is a sign of infection. People who are recovering from surgery without an infection feel a little better day by day. Those recovering from surgery who contract an infection might feel good and then suddenly become exhausted.

2. Running a Fever

Running a fever can cause headaches and decrease your appetite. Running a low-grade fever of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or less is typical following surgery. If your temperature reaches 101 degrees or more, it may be indicative of a wound infection. If this happens, consult your surgeon or physician immediately. Keep in mind that if your fever is due to an open or chronic wound, antiseptics in the form of impregnated dressings containing honey or silver may be helpful.

3. Fluid Drainage

It is quite normal to have some fluid drainage from the incision area after surgery. Expect clear or slightly yellow-colored fluid to drain from your wound. If the drainage fluid is cloudy, green, or foul smelling, this could be a sign that the wound is infected. Healthy wound drainage can be managed by absorbent dressings like hydrocolloids or negative pressure therapy. Contact your health care provider to find out what types of wound care supplies you need to treat the infection.

4. Continual or Increased Pain

While pain is common after surgery, it should gradually subside as your body heals. Pain medication can help, but you should be able to stop taking them comfortably over time. To prevent unwarranted pain, follow your doctor’s wound care directions and avoid strenuous activities. If you continue to experience pain or suddenly have increased pain, it may be a sign of infection. If this happens, consult with your surgeon or physician.

5. Redness and Swelling

Some redness is normal at the wound site, but it should diminish over time. However, if your surgical incision or wound continues to be red or exhibit radiating streaks known as lymphangitis, this is a warning sign of a wound infection. Like redness, some swelling is to be expected at the wound site and should decrease over time. If the swelling does not go down during the initial phases of the wound healing process, you could have an infection.

6. Hot Incision Site

When an infection develops in a wound or incision, the body sends infection-fighting blood cells to the location. This may make your wound or incision feel warm to the touch. If the hot temperatures continue, the infection may cause you to develop other infection symptoms.

Effective management of a wound infection requires a multidisciplinary approach. It is essential to implement best practices and use advanced wound care products to prevent infections.

Overview

What is a burn?

A burn occurs when heat, chemicals, sunlight, electricity or radiation damages skin tissue. Most burns happen accidentally. There are different degrees of burns. Your healthcare provider determines the seriousness (degree) of a burn based on the depth of the burn and the amount of affected skin. Burns can be painful. Left untreated, a burn can lead to infection.

How common are burns?

Close to half a million people go to the emergency department every year with burn injuries. Children are at high risk for accidental burns. Every day, more than 300 children receive emergency treatment for burn injuries.

Who might get a burn?

Accidental burns can happen to anyone, although children, teenagers and older people are most at risk. These age groups are more prone to burn injuries from cooking, such as spilling a boiling pan of water onto skin. Children and teens are also more likely to mess around with lighters, matches and fireworks or get sunburns.

What are the types of burns?

Healthcare providers classify burns by degrees of severity. Your provider will evaluate the extent of skin damage. Burn degrees include:

First-degree burns are mild (like most sunburns). The top layer of skin (epidermis) turns red and is painful but doesn’t typically blister.

Second-degree burns affect skin’s top and lower layers (dermis). You may experience pain, redness, swelling and blistering.

Third-degree burns affect all three skin layers: epidermis, dermis and fat. The burn also destroys hair follicles and sweat glands. Because third-degree burns damage nerve endings, you probably won’t feel pain in the area of the burn itself, rather adjacent to it. Burned skin may be black, white or red with a leathery appearance.

Symptoms and Causes

What causes burns?

Many things can cause a burn. Thermal sources, including fire, hot liquids, steam and contact with hot surfaces, are the most common causes of burns. Other causes include exposure to:

Chemicals, such as cement, acids or drain cleaners.

Radiation.

Electricity.

Sun (ultraviolet or UV light).

What are the signs of burns?

Burn symptoms vary depending on the severity or degree of the burn. Symptoms are often worse during the first few hours or days after the burn. Burn symptoms include:

Blisters.

Pain.

Swelling.

White or charred (black) skin.

Peeling skin.

Diagnosis and Tests

How are burns diagnosed?

Your healthcare provider will examine the burn to determine the degree or severity. This process involves estimating the percentage of the body affected by the burn and its depth. Your provider may classify the burn as:

Minor: First- and second-degree burns that cover less than 10% of the body are considered minor and rarely require hospitalization.

Moderate: Second-degree burns that cover about 10% of the body are classified as moderate. Burns on the hands, feet, face or genitals can range from moderate to severe.

Severe: Third-degree burns that cover more than 1% of the body are considered severe.

Management and Treatment

How are burns managed or treated?

Burn treatment varies depending on the cause and severity. You need to keep all burns clean and apply proper bandages/dressing depending on the severity of the wounds. Treating the person’s pain is key: inadequate control can interfere with wound care.

Continue to check wounds for signs of infection and other long term issues, such as scarring and tightening of the skin over joints and muscles, which makes them difficult to move.

Treatments by burn type include:

First-degree burns: Run cool water over the burn. Don’t apply ice. For sunburns, apply aloe vera gel. For thermal burns, apply antibiotic cream and cover lightly with gauze. You can also take over-the-counter pain medication.

Second-degree burns: Treatment for second- and first-degree burns is similar. Your healthcare provider may prescribe a stronger antibiotic cream that contains silver, such as silver sulfadiazine, to kill bacteria. Elevating the burned area can reduce pain and swelling.

Third-degree burns: Third-degree burns can be life-threatening and often require skin grafts. Skin grafts replace damaged tissue with healthy skin from another of the uninjured part of the person’s body. The area where the skin graft is taken from generally heals on its own. If the person does not have enough skin available for a graft at the time of injury, a temporary source of graft can come from a deceased donor or a human-made (artificial) source but these will eventually need to be replace by the person’s own skin. Treatment also includes extra fluids (usually given intravenously, with an IV) to keep blood pressure steady and prevent shock and dehydration.

What are the complications of burns?

Third-degree burns that are deep and affect a large portion of skin are very serious and can be life-threatening. Even first- and second-degree burns can become infected and cause discoloration and scarring. First-degree burns don’t cause scarring.

Potential complications of third-degree burns include:

Arrhythmia, or heart rhythm disturbances, caused by an electrical burn.

Dehydration.

Disfiguring scars and contractures.

Edema (excess fluid and swelling in tissues).

Organ failure.

Pneumonia.

Seriously low blood pressure (hypotension) that may lead to shock.

Severe infection that may lead to amputation or sepsis.

Prevention

How can I prevent a burn?

Burns have many accidental causes. You can take these steps to reduce the risk of burns:

Wear sunscreen.

Set your home’s hot water heater below 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

Always test the water in a shower or bath before getting in or bathing a child.

Lock up chemicals, lighters and matches.

Use the stove’s back burners as much as possible when cooking, turn handles of pots and pans where they won’t be bumped and don’t leave the stove unattended.

Don’t hold a child when you’re near hot objects, such as the stove.

Set safeguards around a fireplace and never leave a child unattended.

Install and regularly test smoke detectors in your home.

Stock your home with fire extinguishers and know how to use them.

Cover electrical outlets.

Outlook / Prognosis

What is the prognosis (outlook) for people with burns?

With proper treatment, most first- and second-degree burns heal over two to three weeks. Depending on the burn severity, you may have some scarring, which may fade over time. People recovering from third-degree burns need physical and occupational therapy to maintain joint mobility and improve function. Some people develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or depression after a burn event. Thanks to medical advancements, many people who have burns covering even up to 90% of their bodies survive .

Living With

When should I call the doctor?

You should call your healthcare provider if you experience:

Burns on the hands, feet, face or genitalia.

Burns that don’t improve after two weeks.

Blistering.

Severe pain.

Fever, yellow or green discharge, or other signs of infection.

Signs of PTSD or depression.

Excel Merge Values

Problem: I have a list of month-to-date sales by customer. My co-worker just sent me a list of sales for yesterday. I need to combine and merge these lists.

When you merge, you typically join two queries that are either within Excel or from an external data source. In addition, the Merge feature has an intuitive user interface to. Press Control + 1 to open the format cells dialogue box. In the Alignment tab, in the Horizontal drop-down, select Center Across Selection. This would merge the cells in a way that whatever you enter in the leftmost cell gets centered, however, you can still select each cell individually. Start typing the function into the cell, starting with an equals sign, as follows. Now, we enter the arguments for the CONCATENATE function, which tell the function which cells to combine. We want to combine the first two columns, with the First Name (column B) first and then the Last Name (column A). 1) Merging two cells using CONCATENATE function. We insert a new column after the Last Name and name it as Full Name. Now in cell C2, I input this formula: =CONCATENATE (A2,' ',B2) I press enter and drag down this formula for all the cells (up to there is data) in the column. Step 1: After merging the Excel or CSV file, you click on an empty cell to make the cell receive the combined data table (as you choose G1), then click Data and select Consolidate. Click Data and select Consolidate.

Combine these lists.

This is a 3-step process:

Do a MATCH or a VLOOKUP(,1,) on the second list to find new customers. Add the new customers to the original list with previous sales of 0.

Now that the first list contains a superset of customers in either list, do a VLOOKUP on the first list to get the sales from the second list.

Add previous sales to new sales and convert to values. You can now delete the new list.

When you want to figure out if a customer in column D is already in column A, most people will do =VLOOKUP(D6,A6:A25,1,False). This will either show the customer name or #N/A. In this case, you are interested in the #N/A records.

However, now that you've read about MATCH, you can just as easily use MATCH to find which customers are in the other list. Use =MATCH(D6,$A$6:$A$25,0). In the figure below, all of the customers in column D have a match except Ford.

Any customers with #N/A are new customers and need to be added to the list of customers in column A. If you get a few #N/A values, sort by column F to bring the new customers together. Copy just the customer name and paste to the bottom of the list in column A. Enter $0 as the sales in column B for the new customers.

Ford is missing from the 1st list.

In the current example, only Ford is new, so you can copy Ford from D9 and paste to A26. Enter zero in B26. In real life, though, you will have a several customers who are new. Copy and paste below the first customer in A. Add zero to all the corresponding cells in B.

You've now completed the first of three steps. The next step is to add the real VLOOKUP to the first list.

=VLOOKUP(A6,$E$6:$F$16,2,FALSE) would return a mix of revenue values and #N/A errors. When an existing customer had no revenue on June 18, the result of the VLOOKUP will be #N/A. You can use the new IFERROR function to replace those #N/A values with zeroes.

Insert two new columns before column D. Label these temporary columns Addl Rev and New Total.

The formula in the new C6 is =IFERROR(VLOOKUP(A6,$F$6:$G$16,2,FALSE),0). Copy that formula down to row 26.

Do a VLOOKUP to get sales from June 18 in the first list.

If you want to check your work, use AutoSum to add a total at the bottom of column C and the bottom of column G. Both totals should match.

That completes step two of three steps. The final step is to combine revenue from column B and column C.

In D6 enter a formula of =B6+C6. Copy this formula down.

Add the old and new revenue.

Copy D6:D26. Select B6 and Paste Values.

Gotcha: Don't worry that column D is showing a higher value than it should. Column D is still adding the current day's revenue to the new total in B. You will be deleting column D very soon. If you don't want column D to ever show a wrong value, you could copy D and paste values on top of itself first.

Change the date in A3 to indicate that the report has data through 6/18.

Delete the temporary columns C through H.

It looks like the original data was sorted by descending revenue. Choose cell B6 and click the ZA button on the Data tab of the ribbon.

This process of comparing and combining two lists using VLOOKUP is a staple of data analysis. There is a faster and easier way to do this. See 'œUse a Pivot Table to Compare Two Lists' on page 415.

2. In the cell D2, write the formula: =CONCATENATE(B2,” “,C2). The B2 and C2 are the addresses of First Name and Last Name. And in the formula, the quotation marks “” is the separator that will be inserted between merged names any other symbol can be used as a separator e.g. a comma.

3. Just like this, join data from several cells into one by making use of any separator of your choice.

Now select the entire text in the Notepad and copy it to Clipboard.

Then switch back to Excel worksheet (press Alt + Tab) > choose B1 cell and paste text from Clipboard to your table.

And rename column B to “Full Name“ and remove the “Last name” column.

So, this is the second way that allows you to merge columns in Excel without any data loss.

3. Join Columns Using Merge Cells Add-in For Excel

When your balance hits the trigger amount, funds are added automatically. If you don't choose auto-recharge, you run the risk of your balance falling below zero.
