Went Nature Hiking
found some graffiti.
I knew it was gonna be a good day when I came across this beaut. Picture post apocalyptic Kentucky, all flooded out due to melted ice caps, rivers and creeks know no banks, the cities are underwater, well above puny flood walls. Most of survivors stay close to the watered out metro areas in tied together bass boats and other recreational vessels. Everyone making the best of it like a never ending poker run.
Subtle markers. A world of wonders lies not all that far from your so called beaten paths.
I took about a hundred or so pics and while they are all cool or interesting in some fashion it’d be silly to try and include them all. I didn’t walk but maybe 2 miles total, not even. I found a spot that really is kinda secluded right smack dab in the middle of the city. So there is lots and lots of work.
All the pics are taken with an iPhone 7 and presented with no filters or enhancements. Many are cropped. Except this one which has many filters and enhancements and may also be found on the instagrams. Follow me @callisreed if you’re so inclined.
For some stark contrast, also next in the camera roll.
None of it appeared particularly fresh, I feel like it’s tough to tell. This is directly under a major US interstate and where the black streaks are directly above are slits in the road. So that black gunk is exactly that. Black interstate gunk fallen thru the cracks of the bridge structure. Even so, I don’t think anything was as recent at 12 months or more. Just guessing. I’m no expert.
Not to be redundant but this dude was all over the place. I’m not 100% they were all actually Brrr or not but either way this was one of the cooler ones. He garnered the obligatory/everybody is a little bit narcissistic selfie.
This isn’t exactly graffiti but it reinforced my post apocalyptic fantasy of rednecks with all their stuff crammed into bass boats cruising thru flooded out Louisville, KY pillaging new garbage and discarding their old garbage.
This dude was all over the place as well. My man got in some work. This one makes the cut for obvious reasons. I tried to get a panorama but it turned out like rookie. So here’s this square one.
In my experience, which is limited, writers have respect if not for anyone else, for other writers. Guys will leave other guys’ stuff alone. You have your outliers of course. Some dudes are just assholes. This poor little dude got defaced but I have a fair to decent idea he’s been there for a good long while and well, this just made me giggle.
Sometimes graffiti is a comment on society.
And sometimes it’s a reminder of the glory of humanity.
Panorama kinda works for that one.
Then there was some big work.
And in case ya didn’t know,
This was essentially the end of the road. Needed a boat to go further. Any pics that follow here will be on my way back. The ones I missed cause there’s graffiti coming and going down here!
Fairly certain the below is not a real 2buck so I’m somewhat skeptical about the brrr’s.
Authentic or no, this one’s cool too.
There was a little bit of nature and I did snap a pic to prove it.
A different perspective I got walking back the other way. A couple dudes tried to do some perspective kinda stuff. Some of it played, some of it was tough to capture on iPhone camera. This dude put a lot of work in down there.
If we’ll but pay attention to our surroundings the secret to life is written all around us.
More good advice.
