I'm that guy who won the Hunger Games a few years ago. Now I'm pretty much a prostitute for the Capitol. Oh joy. I'll give you a kiss if you give me a secret. indie finnick odair rp account tracking doyouhaveanysecrets

aspen || the most amazing things can come from some terrible nights
It had been a full month since the last time Finnick had visited District Two. The Quarter Quell was looming ever closer, and he found himself growing antsy despite having no reason to be. The Quell would be like any other Games, just with some special bonus torture methods. He would be a mentor just like he had been any other year. The only thing he had to be antsy about was watching the tributes he mentored dying. What a breeze.
He was being shipped around all the districts for some publicity for the Quell. Get everyone excited for what might take place this year. Who better to accomplish that than the handsomest face in Panem? District One sailed past smoothly with smiles and waves. District Two, he thought, would be about the same.
On his time off, he found himself in the meadow Aspen had shown him, making daisy chains like Annie Cresta had taught him back in District Four. He had nowhere else to put them, so he hung them around his arms and his neck, each chain growing longer and longer. It was kind of like making knots in a rope, only a little more delicate and cautious. He was so consumed in this sport that he didn't notice the sky growing darker, or any company joining him.

Finnick peered closely at the silhouette standing not too far from him. They looked a little familiar... "Hello," he called across loudly, moving to stand with them. "Have I seen you before?"

Finnick was inclined to agree with the Capitol's stupidity, but then, well...let's say Zim's species took creativity to a whole new level. A totally alien level. A very alien, green-skinned level. "O-kay," Finnick murmured, narrowing his eyes briefly at Zim. Was he being played here? "I have no doubts about it...though if it came down to you and me, does that mean I would be in charge?"
Zim frowned a little. That was a horrible system, even to him and what his species standards were. “That’s.. Pretty. Stupid.” He blinked, clearly aghast at how their government was picked. “Where I.. Come from it’s based on height.” He took that moment to stand up straighter, as if trying to show off his full four foot eight inches. “Tallest are in charge. If they die next tallest are in charge or if someone gets to be taller than them they’re bumped down to something else.” He paused. “I’m going to be Tallest one day you know!”

She was rubbing him in all the wrong ways, but Finnick wasn't one to let his temper flare for any small thing. Living in the Capitol, you became an expert at bottling those types of things up. "The one who has nightmares," he said plainly. "You're not as smart as I thought you were, if you think there's any victor who has fond dreams of the Games."
Katniss shook her head. “What I did was merely a hunters reaction. If you had actually thought I would shoot Peeta,” she laughed to herself. “You’re wrong.” She looked away before continuing. “The way I see it, there are two types of victors. Those who have nightmares, and those who dream fondly of their time in the arena. Which one are you?”

No, they wouldn't leave him to starve. Finnick Odair was too valuable. They'd leave Annie first, or maybe his mother. One by one, all the people he loved, until he complied or they were all gone. He could share that bitter freedom with Johanna, maybe, if he didn't love them all too much.
"Too much colour and food," he agreed lightly, "and maybe a little too much adoration." He smiled faintly. "Thanks for caring, though. It's a little hard to find people here who don't think past their fake nails."

...well then. He'd assumed she'd have interesting stories, but she'd by far exceeded his expectations. "Kill the corpses?" he repeated, his eyebrows slanting upwards. "That sounds a bit...redundant."
Once again Finnick was reminded just how little he knew about Panem - not out of choice, but out of the Capitol's manipulation. Tilting his head to one side, he feigned a puzzled smile. "How does that work?"
Julie grinned at Finnick, shaking her head, her eyes falling to her hands as she shrugged her shoulders. In her mind she was battling over exactly what to tell him and how much she could reveal. The Capitol knew everything but kept it from all it’s inhabitants. Could this be a trap?
“Um I’m not sure how much I should say honestly.” She admitted with a shrug. “I’ve been part of those living out side of Panem .. the cleansing team … we kill the … corpses.”
