Set in country reminiscient of China. Softshell turtles are revired for their medicinal properties in many asian countries so it isn't suprising it would apear in the show treating about medicines

So in second season ep. 11 (The hunt) we can see Maomao consuming a cooked softshell turtle, so definitely trigger warning for that.

Saw this nice turtle on my morning walk and got a good picture. But then I got to thinking... What kind of turtle was that? Pretty sure it's a painted turtle?

So I looked it up and... Well I was nowhere close.

It's an Eastern River Cooter. Why it named that tho...

'Cooter' is most probably an evolved over the years version of Bambara or Malinke (both are African ethnic groups/languages) word 'kuta', which litteraly means turtle.

- In ep. 8 there is a tortoise infestation, no harm to them is mentioned. Sid proposes to put them in cute ouffits, and Riva says to race them in the casino so that is nice to imagine.

- Ep.9 starts with a mention of turtle hunting

- In ep.10 Description of Sid reaping a leg of a turtle, Barry shoots it - a mercy kill. It is implied it ocures daily for characters. Honestly awful thing to listen to, was happy my turtles don't hear as high frequencies as Emilies voice, so they couldn't hear it.

- Ep. 10 -17 none of special cruelty, mostly metions of Aurora Nebbins

- Ep.17 'Eat a turtle if you can breath in space line', Aurora Nebbins consumes a turtle.

Deffinitely does not a pass, since the turtles get hurt so much, and also you wouldn't kill a dog but couple dozens of turtles in not a problem (not about Aurora Nebbins, she did nothing wrong)?

In Tom Cardy's 'Level Clear', near the end we can hear the line: 'B-B-B-Breakdancer, turtle killer f-freelancer', which obviously implies planned killing of turtles for a job.

Easy solution: put a coma after 'turtle' and then it is aspirational to be a turtle instead a turtle killer.
