On Halloween, the girls decide to watch some scary movies, per Yuri’s request. Monika hides her face against Sayori while she tries to comfort her and Natsuki, who is trying not to scream (”I’m not scared! s-shut up!”). Yuri is just enraptured with the movie. 

Eventually, they all fall asleep together from eating way too much candy and sleep through their alarm the next morning.

Yuri: You weren’t there. You didn’t hear what she said to me.

Monika: What did she say?

Yuri: “What are you gonna do? Stab me?”

Soulmate AU (Sayonika)

Okay so I’ve been thinking and. soulmate AU where everyone only sees in black and white until they touch their soulmate for the first time

Sayori isn’t sure most days whether her world’s lack of color is a side effect of the depression, or having yet to meet her soulmate. Either way, she’s starting to lose hope.

Monika tries to remain optimistic, keeping up a mask of hope, silently wishing she would meet this mysterious person who will bring color to her life.

That is, until the day that the literature club’s newest (and only) president is putting up the sign-up sheet she made completely alone in her room the night before. Another girl approached curiously, fidgeting with the loose buttons on her shirt, and Monika couldn’t help but notice her messy hair and the adorable, nervous smile she held.

“Hey there!” She greeted warmly, hoping- praying- that she could recruit at least one person before this entire project was a bust, “Interested in joining a new club? I’m Monika.”

The shorter girl laughed nervously, “ah… yeah, I know. I mean, uh- just that you’re kinda popular and all, so I know your name! Not like, in a creepy way though. Ahaha.”

Monika hesitantly smiled, opting to ignore the strange feeling in her stomach at the revelation that this cute girl knew who she was. “Nice to meet you.”

They shook hands.

For a terrifying moment, her vision went dark. But a moment later, in a burst of brilliant light that would change her world forever, everything exploded in a whirlwind of color.

DDLC Headcanon #41 -

For when things become overwhelming for one of the girls, one corner of the clubroom is a pillow fort they can relax in. There’s a tiny bookshelf for Yuri, fluffy blankets for Sayori, manga for Natsuki, and a few empty journals for Monika to write in. It’s a neat little safe space for whenever one of them needs some comfort.

(When more than one of them needs time in there at once, they cuddle up together, and sometimes accidentally fall asleep.)

Sayori owns a really colorful shot glass that she drinks shots of apple juice out of. What, you thought she was gonna drink alcohol? Please. Sayori only drinks happy juice.

Sayori and Natsuki regularly stay up all night playing video games. The others find them sprawled on top of each other, unconscious, with the smash bros music still playing in the background AT LEAST once a month.

Is the big spoon while cuddling?

Their cuddles are a jumbled mess, but Sayori makes an attempt to hold everyone at once, so her lmao. 

Wakes up early?

Monika always gets up early, followed closely by Yuri. The other two must be dragged out of bed. 

Is the more dominant one?

All of them alternate, in different ways. Monika enjoys having control, Yuri can be surprisingly dominant, Sayori likes teasing everyone, and Natsuki is just rough. It depends on the day, honestly. 

Makes the other breakfast in bed?

Natsuki makes everyone breakfast in bed. Sayori tries and somehow destroys the kitchen trying to make pancakes. 

Is a rough kisser?

Natsuki in particular. Nobody else is complaining. 

Is more protective?

Monika is the most protective at school (because the others are bullied sometimes), Natsuki is the most protective around adults (because trust issues and worrying about her gfs). 

Gets jealous easily?

Yuri does, because she gets worried the other girls will leave her if they “realize they’re better off without her.” When they realize she feels this way, a cuddle pile and lots of reassurance that they love her follows. 

Cries during the movie?

Sayori every time, but Monika if it’s anything to do with animals. Don’t worry, they get hugged :,)

Texts with emojis?

Sayori, and it’s a mess. 

Is more cuddly?

Everyone enjoys cuddling, but Monika and Sayori are the most physically affectionate. 

Makes the bed?

Yuri and Monika have to do it while the other two are still in bed because they refuse to get up. They fall off the bed. It’s chaos. 

Rating of the ship?

20/10, I love anything to do with poly dokis. They love each other!

Both, but Natsuki is usually rougher.

Yuri is! Her girlfriend is small…

Natsuki, though they each have their moments. 

Cries during the movie?

If anyone it’s Yuri, and Natsuki has no idea what to do to help. She ends up awkwardly holding her hand.

Natsuki. Yuri is confused by it. 

Is more cuddly?

Secretly they both crave cuddles.

Makes the bed?

Yuri, because someone has to be responsible around here. 

Rating of the ship?

9/10, they’re cute but can be a bit volatile depending on how you view their development. Overall, I like it!

The girls create a Literature Club Groupchat and it’s chaos. Sayori texts in the middle of the night with questions like “do turtles have feelings?” Natsuki tells her to shut up. Yuri doesn’t know what emojis are. Monika is just tired.

Sayori loves to sprawl herself across Monika and listen to her heartbeat. It can become quite the problem when Moni’s trying to work, but sometimes she just gives up on whatever project she’s working on entirely because she’d rather cuddle. 

Other times... well, let’s just say Sayori isn’t giving up easily and will attach herself like a koala if necessary.

Yuri eventually convinces Natsuki to read The Portrait of Markov. She goes on and on about how much she hated it... until Monika catches her reading the sequel.
