"well?" chamber asked, looking down on her for a moment before pressing a brief kiss on her forehead. it was overwhelming, being lovingly intimate—but it was welcome. it was very welcome. it made her think why was so she afraid of little intimacy even knowing that it was exactly what she needed? all those novels, those films, those shows... she knew she always longed for it but what was she so afraid of? that she'd crumble, that the tough, emotionless persona she had built for years on end, the shell that she desperately, tirelessly hardened to be the perfect shell and defense would be all for naught? her mind ran in circles, frozen in thought, the prospect was daunting.

the frenchman then noticed that her eyes were open wide, and he sighed. he began unwrapping his arms around her with an air of apology in his actions, "désolé, mon chou, i wanted you to feel safe with me but i realized that i shouldn't have force y—"

she only squeezed herself against him, not wanting him to let go. she realized, then, that she didn't want him to let go. never let go, please, she thought to herself, caught in her tongue. those fears of breaking completely were dissolved in his embrace, she felt more whole in his arms, and this epiphany made her happy.

why? she couldn't tell, but she was. he thought that was enough.

"i'll take that as a yes, then." he yawned softly, letting her head lay on his chest, to allow her to wrap his being with her presence. "however, i still wish to apologize for my rash actions."

"apology accepted," a soft reply.

"merci, aimee," he murmured. "now then, let us rest. we still have a mission tomorrow."

"oui, amour?"

there were a few beats of comfortable silence between them, a tranquil moment shared before mist spoke again. "chamber?"

"thank you for being patient with me."

The daycare isn't that well-off but we're lucky to have a coffee maker. (I asked Ying Wei about it, and she said that it came from the previous management...? I'm not that well-versed with the history of this establishment, to be honest). Not everyone drinks coffee, of course, but if I have to answer this including everyone into the picture...

I will say however that there is a... spike of hoarders among our interns when they have a project or college assignments to finish up, mostly the new recruit Zhao Yu, who apparently majors in Computer Science—which causes conflict with Vincent who practically holds the pot his entire shift.

So, Kirra then implemented a strict rule that everyone is only allowed to two small cups of coffee per employee every day. It's a jab to Vincent, of course, but I feel like it was more of her looking out for Miss Ling since she tends to palpitate from drinking too much... that poor woman needs to rest sometimes and not rely on bean juice, really.

SHHHHHHH. Don't tell Tìa Zyanya that I showed you guys. I'm her only follower in her private account and this is... give or take, 4 years ago? Just shhhhhhhhhhhh.

So like, Tìa and Miss Ling go wayyyy back, even before the daycare went bankrupt. The old management used to do fundraisers for charity and also for the kids so it was really thriving back then! Every time Miss Ling brought it up with Tìa, she would always take care of advertising and has been the principal sponsor of every single event. I do wonder if Miss Ling would do a fundraiser again someday.
