Christmas show
Now I would say during the first week a lot was certainly put on my plate and I did try to do it but I got a little distracted to say the least but I did make some progress even it was little and I did receive a reality check at some point from Ethan as I shouldn’t have got as distracted as I did ,
then on the second week I did try to improve but I was still trying to juggle doing my GCSE maths resit exams which were quite stressful , during this time I was feeling pretty crap to be honest but I wasn't sure about what to do .
after the first few weeks we had moved into the theatre space at first we were rehearsing the studio with actors going over certain themes and stuff then we eventually had to move all the stuff into the auditorium where we would be staying for the rest of the process at college for the Christmas show . so the songs that were being done in the show were shout out to my ex(eggs) by little mix , back to black by Amy Winehouse , down under by men at work, those are just a few of the songs , sadly I wasn’t in any of the songs as I was given the luck of doing vital soundscapes and background noises.
when we actually started doing the show it was a bit rough at the start but then after the first tow shows the company got into the pattern of doing it every single night but I would say it took its toll on everyone as it was emotionally and physically draining at the best of times, I do believe that I was content with what  I did in the show near the end as I had started to get surrounded by the idea that me not being in the show much made me a bad musician but I had to stop thinking in that way as it was not productive and good for my mental health.
Again I loved doing the Christmas show it was certainly a interesting experience and I'm glad I did it as it taught me a few valuable lesson's about some people and musical things.

Overall evualation of the Christmas show
In my opinion the Christmas show went pretty good, would have liked to actually play more but other factors were present that restricted me , I did try my absolute best to be included . All the feedback I received from the audience throughout the shows was very good I think it was perceived as a worth wild show to watch , also the actors were so great to work with as we all supported each other. It was definitely different show than last year as if I’m being completely honest I got on with the band from last year a lot more as they were more respectful.

Progress so far this term
Now this term has definitely been not easy  as I have had to enjoy the great pleasures of doing three different maths exams within two weeks of each other and I have been trying to learn various pieces of music for the Christmas show that the actors have been rehearsing very hard with, like for example mr sandman on the saxophone , man down under and zat you santa clause which I was sadly cut from due to some unforeseen complicated factors that hindered my performance in ways and also I maybe overestimated my ability to get timings and saxophone stuff done quickly  , which is ok but to be honest I am far more adavanced on the flute rather than the saxophone I plan on adding stuff to this progress summary when i can so i don’t forget important imformation.

Last week before gig and gig week evaluation
Now on the week before freshers gig this is when things where set more into motion songs were made more upbeat and not too boring as in some of the songs that were worked on at the start they lacked a good amount of stage presence as some singers just stand still looking miserable. Like in sicko mode for example I did manage to get the rhythm under my belt sort of and girls just wanna have fun sounded really poppy by the end of the that week and the stage presence was overall very positive.i would say rehab was definitely not going to make it and me and Lizzie knew this as the song had not been rehearsed much in the venue nor in the music department so when songs were cut I wasn’t surprised that it didn’t make it to freshers , however it could be used in another show or gig as it stills has the potential it just needs a lot of hard work put into.
Now on the week of the gig , a lot of organisation was happening all at once , decorations were being set up , the stage was extended for the gig , DJ equipment had been brought in for the gig . I was personally very pleased with all the decorations and I think the miskin theatre techies did a absolutely brilliant job on lighting and decorations and made the gig even more fun.Now on the actual night of the show I think it went not too bad I felt a bit irrelevant in some songs especially sicko mode as I looked like I did nothing in the song and i don’t think anyone could hear the flute at all and just felt sometimes that I needed to make more of a impact on stage with the saxophone as it usually gathers some attention.

Weekly evaluation
Now I would say this week has been really productive due to us as a company getting more stuff organised and more songs added to our already sound roster of songs for the freshers gig , now first of all girls just wanna have fun , I have been trying my best to learn this small solo , I have even consulted my flute/ saxophone teacher who agreed it was difficult to play and that I would need to take it frame by frame of it and I have noted when to come in and how long it lasted.Next what you know, I’m understanding the rhythm more , I just need to keep up with the guitar as the rhythm isn’t too bad on the saxophone, . Now mr brightside it’s is progressing well given the time we spend on it compared to other songs , I’m sort of getting familiar when to come in and I’m confident in what to play . Lastly rehab is progressing slower than I anticipated but it’s still of high priority for me to get my part successfully done by listening to the song a lot and getting help from the band and Marc . Now me being the events management , I attended a production meeting in the theatre and I took notes of what was discussed and in the team we do have a list of expenditures that we need for the gig out of the budget and I plan on going with some people from other departments to get Halloween decorations and stuff for the gig .

Weekly evaluation
Well since last week I would say some progress has been made if it is little in some songs , like in mr brightside i know what to play it’s just understanding the structure by rehearsing more with the band on it and listening to the song more and more , in girls just wanna have fun I was playing a melody along to the song but have been told it doesn’t work when I see nothing wrong with it but I won’t argue with someone’s note of my performance in a song I can only attempt to improve as a musician, next in who knows what, this song has been proving rather difficult as the notes for me to play have been confusing to improve I going to listen the song more and try to get in sorted out in a midi room with Marc . Also in girls just wanna have fun I keep on being asked to do a rhythm on the flute that they don’t understand I can’t do as it’s not a electronic instrument. Now with me being in the events management I have helped out in cleaning out the two spare room in the venue and we did find some reuseale Halloween decorations and a list has been made for what we need from the budget.

Musicians profile
Now I would say I first got into music around year 6 of primary school when I first started taking flute lessons at school every week and I developed more into a musician when I joined a orchestra.
currently at the moment I'm into a lot of film music especially marvel or x men movies as hanz zimmer is a model film music composer in my opinion and definitely house music and pop music like the trending stuff in the charts.
Now I have been playing the flute for about 6 years and I have always stuck with Yamaha as they have good quality instruments and recently I have picked up the alto saxophone which is proving very interesting to play especially dealing with the challenges of getting round having to have good embouchure.
Now I would say my musical hero is probably my flute teacher Clare my conductor mr mac or my nan who always shows me her own passion for music through silly choir performances at her local church .
I would say my past experiences as a musician are that I have volunteered at a primary school orchestra for the past 5 years I have been in three different orchestra type groups at bird college in Sidcup , I have performed at the royal festival hall quite a few times with bird college and other performances with them at local venues such as the church in Bexleyheath next to the ASDA .
So far at I would say I have gained quite a few essential skills like making myself adaptable to many situations I have had thrown at me , I have had to master the skill of diplomacy towards emotions when running high in the company especially on nights on gigs or shows.
During the next 12 months I would like to increase my confidence performing on stage and learn to enjoy it more rather than fearing it , this would further increase my performance , this could be done by trying more solos in songs .
In 5 years time I would like to be nearly finishing university in order to get a job I m passionate about , hopefully I would be happy with my career so far and my progress in higher education.
Now in ten years time I would like to be in a fairly decent paying job where I can support my self money  wise , I would really like to have a nice apartment where my weirdness can spread into designing what furniture I have. Being in a good relationship with a nice girl my age would  be even better but one can only wish

Important Dates For The Year
Hello,
Please relate the following information to your parents/guardians in respect to booking any holidays and events.
Please do not use the North Kent College Website holiday dates as we don’t always use the same half-term dates as the rest of the college.
You will be able to take the first college half term, this term (22nd-26th October) but not the half terms for the other two terms of the year.
Remember that you will need to be available to watch other shows and perform front of house duties throughout the year. We will give you plenty of notice. You generally have a choice of nights to attend shows.
For your own public performances, you will need to keep the following dates free:
Your year group will have Thursdays off. This will always be the case except for the week before and week of any shows you are involved with and an outside theatre trip we have planned.
Your first gig will be on the evening of the 12th of October so you will need to be available to come in on Thursday 11th of October.
On the same evening as the gig, we will be inviting your parents to come to an event called ‘Friends of the Miskin’ This is their chance to come and meet the staff here and find out more about how your course works and ask us any questions they might have. This will be from 7-8 o’clock at the Miskin Theatre
The second years will be performing at a performing arts ‘Freshers’ party on the evening of the 19th of October to celebrate with all of you who have passed the 6 week trial period.
You will be expected to be available on Thursday 22nd of November to attend a matinee performance of ‘Motown The Musical’ at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London’s West End.
Christmas Holidays.
You may have the opportunity of performing some music at a Christmas gig on the evening of the 14th of December. The latest day you will be called in will be December 17th. You are not called back until Monday the 7th of January
The 2nd term show dates are the 28th of February, Friday 1st of March and Saturday 2nd of March
Musicians will need to be available to work evenings from the 25th of February. The college half term week is the week before this show and you WILL be called in for that week. You will also be working on the Thursday (21st of February) of the week before
You will be called in on Tuesday the 5th of March for a debrief but you will be able to take the rest of the week off as your half term break (6th-8th of March.)
We will break up for Easter on April 5th. You are called back on the 23rd of April
You will be expected in on Thursday 16th of May to play a lunchtime gig for the Student Union BBQ
Your third term public show dates are 6th-7th of June
Musicians will need to be available to work evenings from the 3rd of June and both Thursdays during that two-week period. (30th May and 6th of June)
Please note that again the college half term is the week before this show and you WILL be called in that week
We will break up officially for the Summer on the 5th of July where you may have the opportunity of playing at the end of year Prom.
You will however be finished with all coursework by the 28th of June and attendance/playing at the prom is optional.
Please Note that GCSE/functional skills sessions supersede any time off you have been given on this notice and you will still need to attend classes at times when the rest of your year group have time off.

Action plan
By next Tuesday I have a few keys goals in mind like I really hope for the saxophone part in gabi’s original song to be perfect I would say on Wednesday I plan on having deep discussions with my group about the theme of addiction that we have been given and how we can influence that in our songs especially visually. Then on Friday I hope to actually nail some rehearsal time recording any work that gets done then on Monday I want make sure what ever we have is ok to show to the rest of the class.
