Inspiration.
Over the past few days, I've been receiving incredible emails by many individuals on how glad that I'm finally back at the clothing line again and how I've gone to influence them by inspiring to achieve their own personal goals.
Inspiration comes in many forms, it can simply come from just being outside, at a picnic table, just pondering on your future and letting your mind freely think and imagine everything around you. I think sometimes we all need it. Get away from your social media life, school, work, and everything else and just sit out in a peaceful place to just free your mind. I've done so recently, and it got me thinking of so many ideas on what I can do to achieve, but also think back on your life and what you can do to do better.
But I know sometimes when your left to think alone, people tend to think about relationships and all that bad shit. Simply, don't think about it! Use this tool to meditate and freely focus on yourself, and do something positive, it will only make you progress.
To the many people that have sent emails and thanked me for inspiring them, I'd like to thank YOU for inspiring me. Those encouraging words mean alot and comes a long way. It is very humbling to inspire people sometimes I think like, how do i inspire you guys so much, I'm an average guy that's just going to school and making it in this world. But I know some of you have similar instances where your stuck in life on what to pursue, that fashion has become your interest. My main sense of inspiration is to be passionate on what you want to do. It will take you a long way and you'll be more happier in the long run.
As a conclusion, I hope many of you can come out to my speech at UCSD Talent/Fashion show on March 9th, Saturday. The folks want me to share my story and how I was able to achieve and grow from my brand and my inspirations.
Thank you for reading/listening.
All the best.

Falling off.
I knew someone anonymous was gonna say something about it haha.
But I totally agree. RVLS has been falling off. Am i bummed about it? Not really because I have not been focusing on it and just been putting shit out when I feel like it. And that's not how it should be. I've learned that you have to invest your time and energy into a clothing brand if you want it to succeed, and marketing it will help it tremendously especially when it is worn by many people.
I think every brand has a falling off period. Its a matter of how you can bring it back up and become stronger than ever. I've been in the industry for 6 years and have seen brands come and go. I've learned that brands fall off simply through consistency and staying relevant in this HUGE market. When you lack in those categories, the brand can simply be forgotten. A great example are all these brands from Tumblr? We sometimes become over saturated with all these designs and products that it is hard to capture consumers and turn them into buyers. We look at many products that its hard to choose what we like and want. Am I right?
Clothing brands are the easiest sort of business to get into. I simply got in it because I was passionate about it. Money just seemed to come with it. I've always been articulate with garments, printing, and how the brand's image was always important.
My explanation simply is my time and energy is towards finishing and graduating from college, working, and find my career path. I plan on still opening up a shop in 2 - 5 years and building off of RVLS in the future. I know I have the knowledge and skills to build it big, and the connections to bring it up there. I've learned that consistency, exclusivity, and marketing are the most important things to having a brand blossom.

Hiatus. RVLS?
My brand and company, RVLS (Rivals Sportswear Co.), has been on a bit of a hiatus lately due to focusing my full time and energy on school, to get good grades, and to finally graduate this coming June (if all goes to plan). Once that is all done, the brand will become full time and focus on opening up my first store within a year or two and showcase product at AGENDA and various events. I know that once my time and energy is on the brand, great things will happen.
RVLS will be relative here and there. I am now working with Rachelle, writer for XXL, Complex, and Entourage Management, to help branch the brands image towards athletes and entertainers, and around the industry. I am assembling, ACTUALLY assembling an RVLS team that'll help conduct word of mouth locally and thru various media to reach the masses, which I've been lacking in that category. I've been babying this brand too much and I'll need help if I want this brand to succeed at another level. I've hear it many times, and thru emails that, RVLS has the potential to be the next big brand. It's encouraging, and I know the only way it'll reach it is thru the support, help, and marketing this brand needs.
2013 is the year RVLS breaksout. I have too much passion, knowledge, and heart to continue it. The products this year will have more fire as I'll be using new garments, designs, beanies, accessories, STICKERS!!, business cards, and HATS.
Feels good to let that all out haha.
If you'd like to help in anyway, or have ideas taht can enlighten me, please feel free to contact me!

2012.
What a year. Filled with ups and downs, great memories, and bad ones.
On a personal level, a year of growth, maturity, and adversity.
Every year, I think we all go through it. We go through each year with expectations to achieve things in our own way but some things change. They either change for good or for the worse. People make New Year Resolutions and look for a new start or new chapter in their lives. I've never made New Year Resolutions simply because I know things won't go according to plan. Every year I make personal reachable goals. Goals in the year that can either improve you as a person or achievements you want in your life.
In 2012, most of my personal goals were achieved, and through those goals I learned more about myself, and improved as a person. I learned that keeping positive has been my way to go. If you're ever faced with adversity always keep that positive mind set. I also learned that when you work hard for that goal, and you will earn it. They don't come immediately, but due time, it is well deserved. Alot of positive has happened this year and am truly blessed.
In 2012, it also brought new/old faces in my life. Every year we seem to always make new friends and reconnect with old ones. Always accept those new faces as sometimes they can be your next close friend. I've learned to just be myself around others and have them accept for who you are. Making new friends is always invigorating. As far as old ones, they can sometimes come back into our life and reconnect. I've learned that although it may be years or a while since you've last spoke to that person, but when you guys finally reconnect with an old friend its like old times. Memories arise and good things come about.
2012 brought me love. I hate using that word but it truly brought me a woman that I spent most of my year of 2012 with. She brought me happiness, unconditional love, and appreciated everything about myself. It brought us closer and learned about one another more and more. You are simply the reason why 2012 was a great year. We've created memories that'll last for a long time and places we called home and a place of nostalgia. I also learned more about you, its not just the beauty on the outside, but the amazing, charasmatic, caring person you are in the inside. I've always been private about my life but I'm not ashamed to share my love with you. I thank you Julia for everything this year, I spent my happiest moments with you and I hope 2013 can bring it to us as well. I know you have your own path and own goals, but if life persists we will continue where we left off.
Thank you 2012. Thank you god for keeping myself, family, and friends healthy as possible. A year of success and growth. I hope 2013 can be as better and filled with positivity.
- Don.

These are the times where we think at our most.
Review what we did throughout the day or think about the past. We wonder about the what-if’s and the could-have’s that could be done or even over-think. It’s not until this time you appreciate everything that you’ve lost or could have done better to change the outcome.
It is currently that time, 2:05am, and I am thinking at my most. Writing down (or typing down) your thoughts helps clear your mind. Its been common for many people who have problems to release their inner feelings and express what ever they want. I am thinking about what I’ve done and the unanswered questions I need answered. How 36 hours changed dramatically and has caught me off guard. My mind is like a filing cabinet processing everything that has been going on until this very moment on what caused these turn of events. Why now?
Positivity has kept me sane. Its a word I’ve looked to since I was 10 years old. My father helped me with basketball and saw me struggle playing. He simply came up to me and said, “Stay Positive”. 13 years since that day, I repeat those same words in my hardest times. Positivity brought me a better outlook, be a better friend, and aspiration.
Today I remain positive because I believe there is a reason for this. Good or bad, I’ll accept it. One to four has been my hours of thinking. We remain awake because something bothers us or excites us the next day. Its not until we confront it that we can finally relax and rest the next day. I’ll be well familiar with you One to Four, for the next couple of days to cope and grasp everything but I’ll stay positive and hope that we can once again be together.

Los Angeles,
The city I come to know. A place of escape from my own personal life. A place I met you. Sweet, charming, full of life. I knew this place would bring me to you. The memories, laughs, and adventures is something that I will keep when I come back to this place. It also brought me beauty. A smile that shined light on the city and a personality anybody would love. At night, dropping you off will always be the hardest thing as the day was coming to an end. LA was no longer a place of escape, it became my home, a place I can cherish everything we have done together. Time will heal, it’s hard to leave this city, this home, the person I love. I know what’s best for you. It’s hard for me to leave but I know this will make this place better. I will always love this place because it brought me you, the happiness I have always wanted. Thank you LA for everything, you will stay with me forever.
-Don.

While it'll take some time to get used to the name change, I know for sure the quality of your products are going to stay the same. Maybe with the name change will come less confusion with your brand & new customers/people and The Hundreds brand like I remember seeing. Keep it [̲̅$̲̅(̅ιοο̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] Don!
Quality will stay consistent as last time but adding wovens to all tees and better materials. Thanks Joby for being one of many true supporters of the brand. You'll enjoy RVLS even more.

Back at it again.
After a 3 month hiatus, HWC (Hundred Weight Classics) is back with new product.
I've been looking forward to this for awhile, ever since school started.
Glad that HWC hasn't fallen out of the loop and still continues to have great success!!
I can honestly say I LOVE what I do, and enjoy every minute of it. More surprises to come. Only the beginning for HWC 2012.

HWC 2012 is almost here. This was an interesting line I set forth. Its definitely a huge step forward from last year. I've finally got the opportunity to expand from just t-shirts and hoodies to hats, accessories, and other endless product I can think of. I can't wait to showcase what I have in store for the brand and into later in the year and future. I've gotten questions of, "Yo Don, where all the new shit at? or I don't hear much about HWC anymore." The great thing I'm doing is that people WANT more. It's given me the drive to work harder and give more to the supporters. So to answer the question of where's HWC? its been here, watching, waiting for the right time and opportunity to smack the faces of all the people with the hot new shit!!
With that said, Hundred Weight Classics is back. (After UCR winter quarter) lmao.
