THIS IS TRUE. I see that being very true. I could see this also but I think this would stem from a VERY rare occasion since Ira doesn’t like to drink.

The normal affection I think they’d give each other:

- Hugs

- Kisses on the temple/cheek

- Acts of Service (on Ira’s side)

- Sharpening each other’s weapons (dagger and sword)

- Existential conversations (likely involving Martel’s backstory and snake features)

HONESTLY THO… I don’t know much about Martel as a character bc she’s got so little screen time. I should probably watch 2003 and get more of an insight idk— it’s been YEARSSS since I’ve watched 2003 ☹️

Okay so her backstory isn’t SUPER specific and it’s still being tweaked BUT Ira’s mother died giving birth to her in 1888, so she was raised by Ishvalan monks. Ira grew up to be quite defiant of her own role (but not vocal about it) and naturally intimidating. When she was 16 (close to 17), she fled during the Ishvalan War and ended up at Fort Briggs after hearing about the Ishvalan soldier (Miles) in the district. She practically stared them down and stubbornly stayed there in the cold weather. She’d take any job. She ended up being the ice scraper and an assistant/observer for more than a year before she was trained as a soldier. She was closer to Buccaneer than anyone else. She became a runaway soldier at 24.

It wasn’t because she didn’t like the Briggs crew, it was because she found herself wanting more than what was given and instead of voicing it… she just runs away which issss a common pattern for her. She didn’t leave without anyone finding out of course, Buccaneer caught her the night she had planned to sneak out. Not a lot of words were exchanged but the disappointment from him was enough to know exactly what he thought. She was a coward in his eyes and she knew it. It was the first time someone’s disappointment affected her in a way that made her question what she truly wanted. The want for something better but unable to identify what ‘something better’ was for her.

She ended up in Greed’s gang months after wandering Amestris, just a constant one place to the other. Greed took her in with the promise of food and shelter as long as she worked in the bar and became one of his bodyguards.

She was TERRIBLEEE as a bartender— not at all personable and shit at making drinks. Just as shit as being a cook (she started a FIRE just boiling water)

So the only thing he could think of was her being a bouncer. It was a role she was perfect for.

She gets along with Roa the most even though she’s close to the rest as well. Both quiet and serious, but he’d always been wiser in her eyes.

With Greed and Ira spending a lot of time with one another, they started forming a bond. Ira trusted him with her life quite a bit and he trusted her just as much with his life. Eventually they have something that resembles more of a situation-ship than anything even thought both have feelings they for each other they don’t want to talk about. And both have fears that come with commitment even if they did ever talk about it

Spoiler alert I feel I should put out there—

They never talk about it BECAUSE Ira dies along with the chimera crew.

- Kind of ass at handling guns

- She hates hot/warm weather (LITERALLY her weakness) DO NOTTT TAKE HER ASS TO THE DESSERT

OK ANYWAYS IM NOT MUCH OF A WRITER I was thinking about writing some fics of them here on tumblr just because I have ideas I’d like to get out there but I’m not great at it. I don’t have much art of her backstory either so I need to really get on it 😭😭

Yk what I wasn’t gonna say anything and I was just gonna keep it to myself but I’m SOOO TIRED OF THIS.

I’m a multi shipper, I’m pretty accepting of a lot of ships as long as they’re not problematic or a proship. I have Proshippers DNI on my profile for a reason, after all COUGHH.

But I SWEAR there’s a portion of the FMAB fandom that “normalizes” proships (royed, edgreed, envygreed, greedling, etc.). Like GENUINELY.

Anyways the actual real rant: I can’t even get excited about a Greed/Greeling/Ling artist without checking if they SHIP THEM FIRST. WHY DO I HAVE TO BE A DETECTIVE. Greed is a grown ass man and Ling is a teenager— Shipping them as Greeling is NO BETTER, IT’S JUST SELFCEST 💀💀

Y’all have SOOOO many other characters to ship Greed AND Ling with.

I feel like I NEED to know what the thought process is behind shipping Greed and Ling in any form. And yk what if a shipper comes by this post, gets to this point, and doesn’t block me… I’ll hear your reasoning out before blocking you !!!
