I talk about my chronic pain and various illnesses a lot, but I don’t talk about this “neurological disorder” I have called #synesthesia very often. When I hear music, I see bursts of color. It’s a translucent overlay to the world. This is how experience music, and it’s been this way my entire life. I did not realize until I was 25 that no everyone experiences music this way. It’s considered a disorder, but I think it’s a gift! I wish everyone could experience music the way I do. This was a holiday gift for a friend, and since I gave it to her today I wanted to share. I painted this to the song “I Love Me” by Demi Lovato. I put my headset on, put the song on repeat, and painted what I saw. I hope you enjoy this little glimpse into my brain! ✨✨Synesthesia paintings are available for custom orders, but prepare for a 4-6 week wait time on these BEFORE shipping. Okay, I’m pretty freaking proud of myself. I’ve crocheted shawls before, but this is the biggest and most detailed shawl I’ve made and IT HAS A HOOD! I used 5 different stitches and added a scalloped edge to the outer border. I crocheted this entire thing in 3 weeks!
